They could choose better colors. Anyway, the time is coming.

I also really hate the paint-job of that car and also that weird shiny effect that the painting has. The car itself does actually look like a huge step backwards, if you compare it to the extremely complex aerodynamics that the cars have now but of course that was also the intention. The front wing is now much more simple which means that the dirty air that cars experienced when they were close to another car now has now a much smaller impact. Which means the tyres of the following car will not wear out so quickly anymore, which hopefully means that we will see much more close racing in the next season. Also that car is just a example for the fans every team can still make developments and with an actual nice paintjob those new cars can look good too.

@coinlocket$ finally there’s a preview for them, and yea the paint does seem weird maybe they had some intention for it and we will come to kmow about it when the new season starts next year. Furthermore I just hope Ferrari bounces back, and we see an end to the Mercedes era, but then again nothing is really guaranteed so only time will tell how effective these new cars are.

Anyway, just a tad over 30 mins before practice then qualifying a couple of hours later guys.  I think I’m liking this new format more...  I’ll actually be watching the practice session.

That livery looks awful and I don't get it how they pushed out a photo like that ? I mean the car itself looks ok but that paint ...makes me dizzy first of all as those colors simply hurts my eyes and then made it even shiny ? I've read some comments on their Twitter and no one seems to like it and everyone is hoping for a new one with better colors so we can all understand what is really going on with those cars and how big are the changes.

Timers are slow, the pole was 1.25 in 2019.

And the qualifying session is underway. As we all know, there is a difference in this race week. Because we are going to have the sprint race also. So, the final alignment in this qualifying session is going to determine the grid for the sprint race. And the final alignment in the sprint race is going to determine the grid for the race. And the drivers who end the sprint race in top 3 are going to get points from 1 to 3. These points will be really crucial for the championship race.

I can't wait to see the sprint race especially. It's the first time we'll be witnessing it in the end.

Points finish for George Russell at 2.25 at Stake.  There could be better lines out there if you shop around tho.  Anyway, Russell could push it a tad more since it’s his home race.  I really thought he’d get them at Austria.  But no...  10th time’s the charm.  

I think fans are  gonna like the sprints more and start to really have some interest in watching the practice sessions.  I kinda tend to avoid watching tbh.

In a track like Silverstone that 2.25 is really low seeing how bad Williams is at full speed and this track is a fast one,a legendary one.The race will be beautiful and I would bet on George Russell outside the points area even though low odds in this track I think Williams don't stand a chance.The only chance is if a lot of incidents happens and a lot of Safety Car are in.I would bet on Lando Norris on the podium again which should have really high odds in this track.

Good call on Norris to be on the podium lean.  He was looking good at FP1 and obv finished ahead of Hamilton.  I think the line for that was 3.8 or something close at Stake.

not sure about Norris for Podium the Ferraries seems to be quick in Silverstone, he is now in 6th position after finishing Q3 qualification and he almost didn't get to Q3 finishing 10th in Q2,
I'm surprised to see Russell getting just next to him finishing the Q3 in 8th solid performance after an unimpressive first Free Practice session.
It's interesting to see how Verstappen will do this time as he starting 2nd sandwiched by both Mercedes cars.
Since there is points are in Stake I think we will see Hamilton keeping his Pole position this time Verstappen starts in previous couple races are a bit slow unless he catches up with him since he still have about 30 minutes of pure racing.

I believe Russell could end up in points not because his car, we all know his car is not a good one, but because it is an abresive road there and there are constantly problems with tires there, which could end up happening again. Remember last year? How many drivers had a problem with their tires and not just Hamilton, so it is totally possible for Russell to lead 4-5 teams behind him, that is not even a question, he could be 12th or 13th even, and if 2-3 cars go out because of abresive track problem then we could end up with Russell in points.

It is of course a shame that he needs cars to DNF in order to be in the positions but that is just how the race works, his car is just nowhere near that level and that is why there is no chance that they could end up with something in the points without some lucky situation happening for them and some racers go out.

Now we will have a "warm-up" session of 1 hour tomorrow and later the "mini race" for about 17 laps.
The winner will have 3 points, the second 2 points, the third 1 point, and the positions will be the starting grid for the following day.
I think I love this kind of qualify.

We have left a really exciting qualifying session behind. We got really interesting results. George Russell made it to the Q3 again which was a really huge success. He is going to start at a quite good position in the sprint race tomorrow. I hope that he manages to stay in top 10 for the race. I was expecting a very competitive race for the 1st position between Hamilton and Verstappen. And they gave it to us. There was a very close gap at the end and Hamilton managed to end as the leader. I wonder what kind of a start we will watch tomorrow. I expect Verstappen to have a really aggressive start. He can still take the pole position I believe. I'm happy to see Leclerc ending at the 4th position also. If he performs good tomorrow also, he may have a really good race too.

It looks like the rumors of Mercedes coming with something new for Silverstone were true as I saw the practices and the car looked more stable and more powerful but tomorrow sprint race will put the last statement on this rumor. However, I think McLaren will struggle in this grand prix as Lando himself told the reporters that the car and himself are not on a peak form for this weekend so they will be pleased just to score points.

Any predictions ? I think I will go with Lewis to win 1st sprint race.

Very hard to say, Mercedes is definitely stronger than in the last races. In the sprint race, Hamilton is the favorite for me, or does Redbull have enough speed to overtake Hamilton?

I myself can not estimate it, the new format is still very difficult for me. There will probably also be no pit stops? But wait for tomorrow, unfortunately I can not watch tomorrow....

FP2 did today after the Qualify's of yesterday makes no sense.
Drivers don't care about it since they can't touch anymore the gare, it is useful only for the preparation of the race with a lof to fuel.

Yeah that training today also felt really weird also as a viewer. I mean usually the last FP is at least a little exciting because it already gives a good indication which car will probably be the fastest in the qualifying later that day, but now it is completely boring, because the teams are just practicing long runs which makes sense for them but as a viewer you can't even compare the lap time of the cars because you don't know how much fuel each of the cars is carrying. So they should really change the order of the FP's, the qualifying, the spring and the race.
I would like FP1 and FP2 on friday, Qualifying and Sprint on saturday and the race as it is on sunday. Or just stick to the traditional mode without a sprint.

^  It was intense during the first couple of laps when they has opportunities to fight for higher places on the grid..  But when everything has settled and towards the end, you kinda notice the drivers weren’t pushing as much anymore.  I think Vettel could haved pushed more and get Alonso’s spot.

@tokeweed  Vettel was actually very close to Alonso (there was like a 0.5 sec gap). But he didn't push more than that and Alonso kept his place. It was really unfortunate for Perez. He went outside the track but managed to turn back to the race. But I assume that he broke something in the car and he lost his speed. And the team decided to retire the car before the end of the race. What a nightmare that is!

Verstappen did a really good job just as I expected. He had a really good start and kept his place till the end. His pace was so awesome that Hamilton wasn't able to catch up with him. If you look closely to the start, Verstappen's brakes were just burning.    I was afraid that he was going to have a big problem but fortunately nothing serious happened. I can't wait to see the race. I think that we'll watch a great competition between Verstappen and Hamilton in the race.

Max Verstappen won Hamilton spot from turn 1. didn't expect to see that from the start as recently Verstappen starts were not the fastest.
For the first ever Formula One sprint race my impressions is that i like ut it bring some excitement as in my opinion the start of a race is  one of the most exciting parts of the race and seeing it twice in Grand Prix is great , Now with Verstappen taking pole position at the British Grand Prix and extending his world championship lead by 33 points over Lewis Hamilton, it will be exciting to see what Hamilton is going to to do at the start of the Main race.

Yeah Sainz made a good comeback after he had that touch with Russel.
i think he can catch back at points range tomorrow as for Russel i don't think he can manage to do that and keep his place in top 10 Sainz and Checo will be looking to get back in points.

Do they need to keep this type of tires? not using red tires seems to be a mistake.
