I'm not so sure it's a good thing, how good will be their engines, as a company selling drinks in cans ? I'm curious even if I assume that Honda will continue to support the development. But keeping an entire power train with all components up to date becomes a difficult and above a expensive matter. It will be expensive but it make Red Bull independent of other teams. They didn't want to go back to Renault because the others didn't want to give them their engine (what is logic). Let's hope it will work out for Red Bull and that they can still deliver a competitive car.

Renault has won many F1 world championships as engine provider, including to Red Bull of course (all of their championships). This without necessarily being the most powerful engine I might add, when RBR was winning they were praising the fact the engine suited the philosophy of their cars : faster in the turns than in straight line. And had good torque at low rpm, and low fuel consumption.
With the V6 hybrid Mercedes simply found a "trick" to get the best engine (the turbo being on the front of the engine), something that happens all the time in F1, except this time it has been impossible to change the whole engine configuration for years on end. It's like if Brawn GP could have kept its double diffuser for years, while other teams couldn't get one.
That's why I'm worried about RBR not being able to get a new competitive engine, but if what is being said is true, that the current engines will continue for 2022, then they have more time to find a solution. On the other hand Mercedes can win two times more, and kill Formula 1 in the process (not that they're doing anything wrong).

Yes, it seems that we will continue to see Mercedes' huge dominance for 2 years more at least. It is really not a competition. They are far more better than even Red Bull which is the second best team now. There is a huge gap between Mercedes and other teams. I hope that we can see a balance and much more competition for the championship after this two-year period. I am curious especially about what will happen when the cars are fully changed.

This statement is so wrong. It can be almost a sure thing for 2021 with the only HONDA as an outsider but for 2022 we can't have any clue it will be a new fresh start for everyone so anything can happen, do you remember the BrawnGP what they did back on days? Roughly cars will have 50% less aerodynamic efficiency and they will be a lot different estetically.

Otherwise, this statement would be really meaningless as we will start watching the pilots in new cars in 2022 season. I'm very excited about that season. Because it is obvious that Mercedes will dominate the 2021 season again and Hamilton possibly will get his 8th title. But the latter season will be very competitive finally I believe because a new era will be starting in F1.

Well in the last 2 years he demonstrated to be a mediocre driver, nothing more. He has dominated by a rookie in a car where he was competing 2 years before for the title till the latest races. Let's see if he can beat Stroll next year and then we can talk again about the value of the driver.

There was a documentary at the French Canal+ about Grosjean's accident in Bahrein. They had a great animation which shows how the halo saved Grosjean's life. https://twitter.com/Peke_Formula1/status/1363194634277703680?s=20Seems that his salary is much less then it was at Ferrari so maybe he needs some more cash for other things.

Really great animation. I have to admit that initially I didn't liked halo, but it's really needed thing. Without it Grosjean's head would be cutten off. It's probably scariest accident with happy ending I ever saw in F1.
I just realized that there is 1 month left until 2021 season. Damn, I really miss F1 already. BTW, if somebody interested, F1 posted teaser of new Drive to Survive season on Netflix. It will begin on 19th March: https://youtu.be/jIFhAtbV0D0

I've seen a picture of a blue Red Bull, it had "Aston Martin" as a sponsor. Will Aston Martin really still sponsor RB while having its own team ? Seems silly.

I think that despite the poor performances in recent years, Vettel should still be ahead of Lance Stroll. Another question is that given the very close family ties of the team owner and one of the drivers, I think that Vettel will not be able to count on an exceptional attitude to his person in this team However, I hope it will not be back and Vettel will not be deprived of attention, or if strange the whole point of these changes composition

Maybe it doesnt seem that long because we had the Hamilton story in between so there was every week some news.

Furthermore I wonder how long will he continue in F1, if he continues to underperform like he’s being doing in the past few seasons?. Yes. Vettel is definitely over-rated. Perhaps he had more motivation when he was winning titles with Red Bull, or maybe he's just one of those drivers that can win from the front but crumbles when they face a challenge. But certainly his performances in the Ferrari have diminished his aura of being a world-class driver. It will be very interesting to see how he performs in the coming season.

Lance has to prove he's worthy of an F1 drive, and Vettel hasn't to prove anything, remember he easily beat various teammates at RedBull. You can be a mediocre driver and a world champion on a freak year (like Button, and I'm not saying Button is a bad driver, but the year he was champion, he didn't need to be a very good one), but not a 4-times world champion. Is he a Senna or Prost ? No. Nonetheless I do think he will want to show he still got it, otherwise he might not long stay in F1. Fausto Gresini died due Covid. MotoGP will never be the same.
Not sure what will happen now to his teams and drivers.
Too bad, he wasn't that old and seemed in good shape. RIP.

Vettel still has a lot of doubters, me included. To some people he doesn't have to prove anything, to others he does. It certainly won't look great for him if Stroll outperforms him - not that I'm expecting that to happen, I think Vettel will beat Stroll, because Stroll on evidence so far is an average driver at best, whereas Vettel is a good (but not great) driver.

The departure of Aprilia and the search for a new brand (maybe Suzuki) but without a boss, the survival of the team is very difficult.

Of course he has to prove himself. He was only better than his team mate which was an old Mark Webber at Redbull and at that time RedBull was in another planet compared to other cars performance. At Ferrari he failed miserably for six consecutive years and in a couple of them Ferrari was not that behind and at some tracks even equal to Mercedes. He had his chances and now he has the last chance to prove something. If Stroll beats him like LeClerc did I think he would leave F1 not in one of the best ways.
