When does live network launch?
In the end the main network launches when the community things the whole thing is ready, bugfree and safe to launch. A few months back we decided that we require the bug-bounty hackathon to be complete as well as a 3 week long bug-free period on the testnet. Then we should be ready to think about launching. At the moment, the testnet seems to be stable. I am right now porting things to a newer version of the NRS, which will be finished by tomorrow. This also means, more testing and probably one or another bug. But I think we are all on the right track and done soon! Still, it's always wise not to rush things. Take the DAO as the best example they rushed, they wanted to be the first at all price (even though researchers published warnings regarding numerous security holes) , and they failed big time. A little bit more testing would have possibly helped. So let's make sure that NOTHING is wrong with the protocol, and then launch it! But we have so many technological virtuosos here, I am sure they will find the majority of the bugs pretty quickly.

Explorer soon live. After the weekend I'll buy domain for it. First I'll try to put it disclosed but if there will be any DoS attacks I'll change IP address and hide it behind CloudFlare. I don't want to do this now because I want to move that time to coding.

By the way, we are almost through porting to the latest NXT branch. Just a few more things are missing (like the work control functions from the old UI)! it's not that much! The UI has also been improved a lot, I think. But the biggest benefit is coming from under the hood! Great. For few last days I was wondering how to get more people to test before mainnet and I have this bad feeling about our first post in this thread. It's ugly. New people come here and first thing they do they trying to go to 1 page of this thread and read something about our project. Everything they will read is that @Lannister is money holder (big, ugly, red first sentences) and nothing more. Whitepaper is quite actual but the rest (github links) is dead. We are long time after donations phase. We don't need any warnings because all of participants know what they were signing with thier BTCs. Also today we know that we are forking NXT, we know more or less our specification so it would be good to:
1. @Lannister wake up and refresh first post. It's ugly and deterrent. Wake up and join us again.
2. If @Lannister is idle we should create new thread without self-moderated (we don't need to be afraid trolls today, we and them all knows that we have good, solid project) and with first post that will inform people what is Elastic, what is Elastic specification, what links do we have to this date (reddit, explorer, website, etc) and so on.
Anyone have same feelings? Any suggestions?
Just remember that if we will launch mainnet and we will be trying to get exchanges attention we will also need to give them link to coin thread. And today they will enter this thread and see first post that is clear 'do not sue me' joke.

We don't have mainnet at this time so how it could be possible to use XEL for anything? You want to send your "ownership" of the future coins that would be hard. I don't know if @Lannister is still with us, maybe @EK will transfer ownership of your coins to anyone else if he will agree. It's the only way today to do something with XEL. You can only sell your ownership.

So I thought that you want to pay somewhere with XEL to buy something. I think that it could be possible. Right now we have x random int inputs that miners could provide so if zcash mining is depending on that kind of inputs we could mine it. If not, it's the matter of what we can put to ElasticPL (to be secure) to be able to do more sophisticated things.

@EK we should launch vote on minimum fee. Also after smoke falls, we should think about how much bounty submission should be worth. Of course 10XEL right now is too much (XEL should be worth 0.001$ or even less in current 10XEL per bounty for people to make it worth to submit any work). It will obviously either:
1 kill PoW functionality as no one will want to push overpriced work to the network, or 2 kill XEL as whole, as main functionality should be PoW itself.
If you need new host for the elastic.pro I can provide that.
Any thoughts?

Yes, we would definitely have to create a vote regarding the base fee. At least if we cannot come up with a reasonable algorithm that calibrates the base fee automatically. I have a hard time judging what would be good from the economical point of view (as I have no clue about it). Maybe we could go with some rule that a certain small percentage of the transaction volume in NXT per hour must be spent as a fee with a sliding window adjusting it constantly? If XEL is worth more, more likely less XEL will be transfered in such a sliding window and the less fees are going to be charged. Something like this, but I have no idea if this could work or if we should go for a static value. I do not own elastic.pro, but I think you could ask Lannister about it. Maybe he would give the domain to you? We also have elastic-project.org which belongs to Isarmatrose who has not been online here for a while. Btw. did you contact Lannister in BM? I have read that he did not Acknowledge your Message but I had contact with him today. Maybe you have to resent as BM is working on a best effort basis and does not guarantee that messages arrive. Regarding the Elastic PL functionality, we can add as many complex functions as we like (for now we have only SHA256 supported natively, the rest must be coded on the own). As long as we control what is executed (meaning we provide the code for the functions) we should be fine. We could collect some ideas for additional functionality somewhere, I think. And yeah, I would love to see a nice website, with a good wiki, where everyone can inform himself easily. It's just that I cannot do everything so its very good to see people like you coming on board and taking responsibility for certain parts of the project. It's the same with me, nobody told me to write the main wallet/client, it's just the best I can do After all, its very good to have you here on board ;-) Thanks for that!

Maybe XEL can be turned into a legal botnet for mining different coins. Or a decentralized rig rental service.

maybe asked before; but when I run ./run.sh (after a good compile) the test reference client seems to work in a terminal (on a MAC) But unfortunately 127.0.0.1:7876 doesn't work, no page no connection. The terminal seems to work fine (connecting and seeing broadcasting messages).
Does anyone have some tips?
