Was there an Elastic ICO? If so, when and how will investors receive the coins? Is it possible to buy some by now from the initial investors?
please go https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1804795.0You'll find individuals that are willing to sell . As per our Satoshi Sr. EK, if you ask nicely and also attach a 0.1 BTC per XEL, you could have some of my or EK's coins as well . I don't understand. I have just read there was no ICO, and now people are selling XEL? Where do these come from? ICO is just a wrong term used for the donations period - see more info here https://talk.elasticexplorer.org/t/status-of-lannister-and-the-ico-funds/106/2. Lannister has probably passed away since he was informing about health issues, but obviously this information is not confirmed. if this is true, then based on how many people voted (aprox 25%) lannister is/was in possession of 70+% of all existing XEL if those 70% of XEL are OUT OF circulation then donators are about to get filthy RICH!

Wrong conclusion, the fact that only 25% voted can be because of various reasons like lost key, simply don't know how to vote, don't know there is a vote, don't care etc. and please stop repeating this BS about Lannister as long you can't prove it and I guess you don't.

Or Lannister is really Satoshi Nakamoto and he's really the holder of the 6 million XEL which will never move like the bitcoins in the genesis block. lol. The fud here is unreal. This project wasn't like this a few months ago. EK was right! Exactly

Is there anywhere I can find update on the platform development, or the token launch?
How much longer are we expected to wait till we can get xel tokens?

Thanks for the info! So the donation BTC are basically gone, and the donators don't get any XEL. So where do the XEL people are pre-selling come from? The donations were registered in XEL genesis block, and they are valid. The genesis block will be used for redeeming XEL once we have mainnet (hopefully soon). Selling now is impossible - you can treat those offers as, well... market pre-screening :-) If lite wallet will come up, those offers can be also used for OTC transactions. Is there a place where the genesis block with the public keys can be seen? If access to XEL will be granted using the private key that was used for the donation BTC, does this mean that if I buy a XEL share from someone, I cannot be sure if the owner sells to multiple people, because the key cannot be changed!?

There is list on this forum, I just can't find it now... try to search on earlier pages, before all the votes posts. When you buy before mainnet launch, the one who sells you, still control his privet key and can take the XEL's before you, after mainnet launch - so take this into consideration.

To those who may just have come back to the project, there is a vote taking place on whether to launch a lite-wallet (mainnet) now or wait for a Minimum Viable Product to be available. I can write some of the pros and cons, but I must state that I am pro lite-wallet, so hopefully someone against the issue will elaborate on the cons. Pro:- This will give devs, testers and PR people an opportunity to hold a financial stake in the project, by buying up some of the XEL that will be released onto the exchanges.
- As a Minimum Viable Project (MVP) may be many months away, now is the time to give the project a boost.
- We will have the funds to set up a foundation and pay for work done on the project, development, PR, website, etc.
- The burden on EK will be lifted, as he will have more help.
- Releasing now will mean that we have more likelihood of attracting the type of people we want, since the main source of how far along we are is in Github and only IT Pros will know how to read the code and see for themselves what we've got.
Cons:- There are concerns that XEL will just end up being a pump and dump opportunity.
- Not having a MVP and releasing now will take the wind out of the sails of the project for when we do have a MVP
Edit: The voting ends on 23rd May. You need your wallet signature (that you used to donate to the project with) to vote.

There is no real FUD here. The project is only warming up, and looks more promising each day.
As light wallet becomes the next step forward, lots of new(fake?) posters will suddenly emerge, making ridiculous claims regarding the project.
But you know the drill. No serious project has gone big without its share of storms(fear, uncertainty and doubt). But if you have to remember one thing, then remember this: storms pass. Indeed, if you've been with the project for some time, you've seen that we've got a couple of brilliant devs, a healthy community, and one hell of a project.
Remember, with the launch of the light wallet, we are taking the project one step closer to reality. People keep complaining that we can't find an experienced C dev. Well, sure we can. But the way to find such a dev is not by complaining, but rather by posting an interesting problem one should solve for a healthy bounty. With the light wallet, we will have funds, and such bounties should be quite high on the priority list; right below raising a healthy reward for people who have already put lots of effort into this and deserve a good stake in the project(EK, coralreefer and others).
With funds, we are going to attract more devs, do marketing, begin various other business initiatives on the project, and hopefully increase both the speed and the scope of the project.
As the voting period nears its ending, it would be much more productive for respected community members to begin discussion of subsequent plans and priorities.
I have some thoughts and will be posting them the following days.
Glad to see we are moving forward and interest is peaking.

Here are differences between Ethereum and Elastic ( as to the best of my knowledge): 1) They are spelled differently although they both start with letter E. 2) They have different prices at this time. 3) one had ICO and one had Donation. People, please add more as that's all I could think of at this time.

Dear Lannister, the fourth difference is that you will dump your shares hard, right in the moment the XEL got accepted by any major exchange.

Many are waiting for the launch of this project. Is there an approximate start date? I want to buy some coins.
