I want to order, but it's hot where I live (105-110F outside = 43 Celsius), will Avalon work without AC?

anyone who doesn't have the btc already or close to will probably be out because it takes awhile to get up that much btc from buying...and orders start tomorrow which will probably last 5-10mins now that we have proof...unless avalon's site crashes from all the traffic lol

Dreams of cyprto solving everything is slowly slipping away...Replaced by scams/hacks Sad

5-10 min is optimistic, Chinese customers have 50 millisecond advantage however, thanks to Mr. Einstein

I guess for those of us like myself who don't have the BTC on hand, we have to wait till gen 2 ASIC to be an early adopter with BFL coming out soon.

Sure, just send the wire to mtgox Tongue.

Mt. Gox will likely take the wire no problem.  When it turns out to be near impossible to jump in the Avalon queue and one wishes to get their money back, note that Mt. Gox will probably require one to supply them with an identity theft kit (scans of ID's and the like) just to get the same money back out.

Mt. Gox has a pretty spotty record with data security, though in fairness they've not had a severe problem (that has been detected) in some time and they've likely tightened things up a bit since the old days.  But still, letting them hold such identity info on me, in perpetuity, is about the last thing I'm inclined to do.

...and this is the respectable ASIC vendor. Holy crap. Roll Eyes

Order NOW! Don't wait for the proof we promised! HURRY HURRY HURRY! WE NEED MONEY! RUN don't walk!

Where are all of the profits from batch #1?

* gigavps pulls out his calculator

1,299 * 300 == $389,700

Surely if you don't have any profits left over you'd keep your word and do some demos before asking for another $900k right?

Guess you were wrong. http://bitcoinmagazine.com/working-avalon-asic-confirmed/

I think I called this one pretty close on the 25th...

...

Avalon has shipped boxes with bricks in them.  They are tracking the packages and are waiting until they are near their destination.  Despite what they've said about Batch #2 being open only after the first reviews, they make an announcement that in the interest of time, they are opening up Batch #2 orders, which quickly sells out, even though they've increased the number available to 2,000.  The first packages arrive, are found to be bricks and we never hear from Avalon again.

What did I get wrong?  It would appear that rather than shipping bricks, they've failed to ship anything at all, so there is no need to track it.  Now they're announcing Batch #2 and increasing it not to 2,000, but a more modest bump from 500 to 600.  This will quickly sell out and we'll never hear from Avalon again.

That is my prediction.  Prove me wrong Avalon.

Here you also proved wrong: http://bitcoinmagazine.com/working-avalon-asic-confirmed/

Did you miss the part where I mentioned I will forward tracking number as soon as it is made available to me, OR
Did you miss the part where I mentioned due to CNY there is multiple problems getting the package out of mainland, OR
Did you just wish to continue to repeat the fact I have yet to give out a tracking number.

Please tell me it's #3 so I can start ignoring you.

If you are going to start trolling your potential customers, you may want to start trying harder. Maybe Inaba will give you a quick lesson.  Roll Eyes

LOL yes Inaba could teach him how to troll.

The funny thing is your $120,000 is still tied up with BFL and their "excuses" why they can't produce a working ASIC despite having 3 months advance on AVALON and likely 10 times the amount of customer funds.

Off Topic: Has Pirate been dishing out his 7% per week? Has he paid you back in full? LOL...or are you still waiting?

Perhaps.  Or perhaps some people will order them for resale and accept other payment methods.  Avalon's indicated that there's a market for resellers.

Quote
I am aware some EU and SA country will have importing issues due to customs, but I see a possibility for re-sellers to grow and take care of this problem.

All I can say is that this is Bitcoin. I don't believe it until I see six confirmations.

Given how many miners proudly display their rigs housed in milk crates, I'd say plenty value performance more than packaging.

True, it does hurt Bitcoin's image in the end.

I don't think it hurts Bitcoin's image at all. It is true that it hurts a fake image of Bitcoin that some people are enamored with, but the fact is that's not Bitcoin's image.

Bitcoin isn't a sort of Visa, Bitcoin isn't a sort of fiat. Bitcoin is not the straight laced, noob&idiot friendly, let's make consumers out of everyone and let's turn the entire planet into sprawl sort of bullshit. Bitcoin is Buttcoin, it takes it in the ass and thoroughly enjoys the experience, or to quote a pretty queer character in a pretty great movie:

Quote
You're ashamed of us, but we're not ashamed of you. As long as you go down on your Banana Republican knees and suck dick, you're my sisters, and I love you. And fuck off!

There's not going to be any revolucion without a lot of imagological changes you realize.

That's dumb. Let it run for 5 days making your money back, THEN sell it in the marketplace.
