I also sent payment to the address listed for my order in the store.  I updated the support ticket I have open with the transaction info, I figure that's the best place to keep things documented.

I opened a support ticket too. It seemed like a good idea. At the very least they will have a "formal" notification of the problem that we are all experiencing.

If I had to guess I'd say that payments are confirmed manually and they just did not get around to it.

We all sent our hardware to Avalon as demanded on 16. April. Most of us dont have a real contact with the Avalon Team till today. In that package there was our contact data as demanded in the Newsletter.

On 16. April i asked myself, what is so hard to get a list from ngzhang and contact us personaly, but ok probably they ask for proof, so i sended the requested contact data letter with the hardware. I would like to understand what for we had to send it for, since we have no contact till today? I had a order listed and on hold in the Avalon store, but it was deleted a month ago  and every tickets is unanswered since then (30 Days now).

Mr Chen holds a reliable and organized list of everyone that sent machines to him.

Please edit the list with this Data:
Sended Trade-In: Tue 16.04.2013    07:52
Swiss Post: RC659890833CH – international shipment (Switzerland → China, People's Republic)
Avalon Support Ticket: 1045
Thank you.

It was 399/499 off per trad-in and 1500 per Avalon, there never was a limit like "you just get the amount of boards you sended us". Since there is no change for trade-ins according to Bitsyncom, i assume it as still valid.

Such a low work efficiency is really difficult to understand. What is the customer perception, only after the know transposition thinking.

I tried to summarize the current situation as described in this thread.

  • Nobody has received a personal email after the latest newsletter. Yifu mentioned that he sent out about 50% thursday night, but nobody so far has indicated that they received it.
Yifu have not been heard of since that post.
  • He also on the one hand confirmed the Batch #2 pricing but on the other hand for some reason got the price wrong anyway. ($1600 vs. $1500 - rebate) Perhaps a memory lapse. It's hard to remember that far back...
  • Many has had their order page updated with an order "on-hold", and the number of units seem to be mostly correct.
  • The price on the order page says 78 BTC, but some people has a note added on the details page indicating a price 17.4 BTC together with a payment address.

This is what I have gathered from your posts (please correct me if I misunderstood):

You forgot to add me to the list:

Thank you, till today we have nothing, no contact or anything, if the shipped hardware was stolen and never arrived at china, it would be great to get at least informed from the receiver about it, it would become possble to go to the police. But since there is no comunication - i still dnt know what happend. Thats why we have to consider that hardware as lost. After this expirience, i doubt that we will send ever again any more hardware to china.

This lack of comunicaion is horrible!  And the way ppl get treated is too, even with the price 17,4 they not gonna be able to cover the mess (besides that our goal was a mid to longtherm cooperation and not the "fast money" in first place). I realy miss the times with ngzhnag, no comunication problem, in-time delivery, great hardware.
Ngzhang made the hardware in first place soon after FPGAMiner, we supported it from the very first moment. Back then there was no norhtbridge mount on icarus, or x6500, so it was drawn from FPGAMiner, and soon after adopted for the Lancelot boards. Back then it seemed that we all work together, promises was met, everything was fine.
Its still readable here in the forum https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=90880.msg1098328#msg1098328

But from Avalon we never was contacted, and it was not even honored that we developed the watercooling element for Avalon and Lancelot https://i.imgur.com/SLmcBnf.jpg, https://i.imgur.com/RBieqMi.jpg.

Bitsyncom was even asking to send bulk Avalon order requests to ngzhang what we did - no answer
We wrote emails IM's Tickets etc. - no answer.
We sended the hardware - no answer or even a confirmation
And now according to you - we are not even listed...

Yes, this assessment is correct. I'm happy to pay, I just was confused with the pricing as listed (one says I need to pay several hundred BTC, the other is 17.4 * number of units).

If allinvain can confirm they have shipped his unit(s) then that will be sufficient for me to follow through with the payment, I just have to be ultra-careful since this is a reasonable amount of BTC (I'm getting more than one Avalon as a trade-in).

There's even more to be said about this but I'll refrain from doing that right now. What concerns me more is what will happen going forward. How do they come up with the price without even asking if the customer want a PSU or not? They actually advice all new customers not to order a PSU just to make the packages less likely to be held up in customs. Why are we not asked that question? I'm very concerned about the customs issue and would like to have an influence on the process. Will we get that opportunity or will they just quietly ship the packages to the shipping address?
I assume the former but who knows?

Heck, I would get rid of the cases even, if I had the chance Wink

I've not sent my Icarus boards for trade-in yet as I haven't understood how and when it was supposed to proceed.

Did things become clear? Is there a proper procedure to follow and what are the trade-in choices and what is it we are trading for exactly? Avalon with 3 or 4 modules? with or without PSU? last-generation with controller board fixes?

Are there custom taxes to pay for (or is there a procedure to follow to avoid them)?

I have 4 Icarus boards, 2 or 3 of which I'll be OK to trade but I'm not sure I'll risk them until the whole trade-in process is made clear to me...
