Christ really exist because I have s personal experience with him,but I cannot see him physically but through his teachings and inspiration from the holy spirit and when I prau he always answer but every body have his or her own opinion on whether Christian city is the true religion because such people have not encounter him

I'm only here to start the conversation because I'm tired of seeing "Atheism is Poison" thread being bumped daily... can't you assholes give the anti-Atheist bigotry a break for a single fucking day?!? If you really need someone to elaborate on all the ways that religion poisons people's mind, body, soul and the planet... I can do that...  Please, someone tell me how believing in a magic sky God is better than not believing in a magic sky God... How does believing in fairy tales help a person in any way whatsoever? 
How come that Christianity is poison that in fact it instills good virtues and manners to its followers? It is not Christianity that is poisonous but to some officials (religious) who take advantages in their positions. There are some who use their positions in making themselves rich that is proven by the history but it should not tarnish the fact that there are also religious officials who stay loyal with their sworn responsibility and dedicated their lives in their service. |

You read some book and repeat verses like a parrot. You don't understand any of it. Why the book was written and who wrote it? Christianity is logical. Christians see in nature that God created the universe. Perhaps few Christians understand the science that proves the existence of God, but they don't really need the science proof, already having the nature proof. Christians, also, understand the miracle nature of the Bible. The Bible being a miracle, must have come about through God's making of it. This being fact - and being proven out by scientific examination, as well - shows that nobody, including Christians, NEEDS to know what God is to understand that He exists. This being fact, even you have the ability to understand that God exists. Why don't you join us, and live forever in Heaven? After all, it doesn't hurt you in any way to do this. Our lives here are completely lost at death... at least regarding our position on earth, are activity, our friends and relatives, our property, etc. Since it is all lost anyway, why not set it aside a little... just enough to acknowledge God and His salvation desires for you, and so be saved? You really don't have anything to lose, since everything is essentially lost at death, anyway. And you have a whole lot more to gain. Why continue to call Christianity poison, when it is people who act in poisonous ways, whether they are Christian or not? Christianity is here to save us all from the poison. |

Moloch simply doesn't realize that there is a difference between Christianity and people. Christianity is a complex concept. People are complex beings. Complex beings don't necessarily have to obey complex concepts, even though they often say that they do. Moloch simply isn't complex enough to understand this. So, he says that Christianity is poison, when it is poisonous people who are poison. Moloch, thereby, shows us that he is one of the poisonous people. |

Yes, I realize that man wrote the bible but this is stands also in contradiction of the infallible assertion. Furthermore, it does not get to the heart of the issue to argue that Christianity is poison or religion X is toxic. The real issue is our human tendency to believe. All beliefs are assumptions be they positive (I believe x) or negative (I do not believe y). Beliefs are cognitively lazy and simplify any thought on the subject to which they apply. So it is not enough, by any stretch, to just be an atheist or wave about whatever ideological flag one has adopted. Indeed, such adoptions cripple the evolution of personal opinion. If one finds it necessary to claim I am this or that, other than to say "I am human" or "I am complex", then they are no doubt in a place of lesser opinion motility then those who find little value in such self-labeling. Skepticism, on the other hand, requires persistent, and on occasion, exhausting effort to sustain. Faith also requires effort but only when those claiming to have it are confronted with evidence that contradicts what they assume to be true. In our modern age it is now necessary for faith to "increase" as such evidence is practically everywhere. The only way to escape it is to wall the mind way, disconnect from or oppress any source of information that may so much as drop such a "threatening" bread crumb. |

Is Christianity poision? Of course it is. It's not even worth debating, it just simply is. And that's that.
But wait......
Before all the Christians pour on here, red cheeks, chests puffing up, palms sweaty, ready to rip my head off.
Just stop and think of Christianity like alcohol.
Alcohol (ethyl alcohol) is a poison, just like Christianity.
Many many people all over the world enjoy an alcoholic beverage drink, with no harmful effects. Just like Christianity.
Moderate alcohol use has possible health benefits, but it's not risk-free. Just like Christianity.
It can make a social event better, happier and friendlier. Just like Christianity.
But of course take too much and:
Drinking too much alcohol, and your ability to think clearly is in trouble. Just like Christainity.
Drink too much and people tend to act irrational, wanting to punch each others light out. Just like Christianity.
So you see Christianity (in moderation) is a good thing, it all depends on the dosage.
However, take too much (like BADlogic) and it becomes poisionous, you become like the drunk twat at a wedding. Flopping about, telling unfunny jokes how you once shagged the bride, urinating on the dance floor.
Giving Christianity a bad name, like BADlogic.
