Hi all. I asked my friends to publish 0.4.1 and 0.4.1 builds while I'm at hospital.

I'll publish the full changelog later, important changes are listed below.

  • Dynamic PoS interest. Now it's a function of PoS difficulty, nRewardCoinYear = 1 / (posdiff ^ 1/6). It can have values from 100% to 1%;
  • Checkpoints ignore option added, disabled by default;
  • Bug fix for coinstake transactions display in QT client;
  • Bug fix for AvailableCoins function, prevents immature coins usage;
  • Mac OS X compatibility issues resolved, from now we publishing official Mac OS X 64 bit builds also;
  • New genesis block for testnet.

Update should be performed before 20 June 2013.

So the expected reward will go down to 1.83% a year based on 0.025 PoS difficulty?
Minimal PoS difficulty is hard coded to 0.001. So, at 0.025 PoS difficulty you will get 1 / (0.025/0.001) ^ 1/6 = 0.59 coins per coin-year, i.e. 59% year interest.

I like it.  Smiley
When will this change go into effect? As soon as I upgrade to 0.4.1, or when more than 50% of clients have upgraded to 0.4.1, or on 20 June 2013?

Change will get power on 20 June 2013. When 50% of clients will be updated, old client users will receive warning. If they ignore it, they will stay on forked chain.

Win32 installer rebuilt and replaced. Old one contains novacoin-qt.exe with date in the future, which could cause upgrade problems later.

How can I find out how many coins I've mined through proof of stake? All I've seen is that some of my coins where moved to stake and then back to my balance after a while. I think this should be reported better now that there's some significant interest to be gained from PoS.

Mined coins volume displayed on transactions list page, something like this:

03.05.2013 06:14 Mined [unknown] [+3.14]

P.S. You need 0.4.1 client to see this. Also I think about "stakegeneration" field addition to getinfo rpc call result.

Are you going to continue changing fundamental protocol rules in future?

Yes, if it will be required to make system more reliable. Dynamic interest adjustment is better than static interest, and it has economical sense.

I've been using Big Verns 9 pools pretty religiously he is very good at keeping them up and quickly responds to any concern or issue. Great little community as well.

There is a withdrawal fee of 1.0 NVC

Is it a joke? If it is, I should say that I can't understand this type of humour. Roll Eyes
