People need to wake up and realize zerocoin implementation will invite increased legal scrutiny, especially from the US.  And that there is a chance some businesses, and most likely in the financial services industry, will close their doors to a digital currency with full anonymity.  Zerocoin is not all a good thing.  There are risks...

-Merc
You are killing the main idea of decentralized cryptocurrency. People need to wake up and remember why Bitcoin was created. It's created to take down "regulatory measures" and another shitty things. If you are disagree, then USD would be much simpler to use.

yes, I agree.  What I'm saying is those institutions imposing the regulatory measures won't just go down without a fight...the first coin to implement zerocoin could very well end up being the sacrificial lamb.  This is what I meant when I said there are risks.  I think the Bitcoin Foundation knows this and that's why they've not made zerocoin implementation a priority.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Fixed.

It's not a priority for us too. Just another feature, which planned to be implemented. I don't think that ZeroCoin will be available in the production network at this year, it needs the prolonged testing on the testnet. Because it's too new technology for implementing in the production network. By the way, I already found and fixed some small issues in the original libzerocoin code.

9 days remaining to protocol switch (20.09.2013).

The following limitations will be removed:

  • PoW blocks ECDSA signature;
  • 0.01 NVC outpoint value limit for coinbase transaction;
  • Stake rewards truncation, caused by integer division.

Is there anywhere to earn Novacoins for writing or reviews or anything like that?

I already write for Devtome, I am looking for another coin to write for at the same time.

Well if any project like that pop up, let me know, I'm totally down.

Less than 6 days remaining to protocol switch. I seen some v5 blocks on the network, so should remind again. Don't forget to apply the 0.4.4 update before 20 Sep 2013.

Successfully ported to ARM, so now you can build novacoind & novacoin-qt for Linux/ARM just like you do it for Linux on x86 platforms.

Code:
novacoin@raspberrypi ~/.novacoin $ /opt/novacoin/novacoind getinfo
{
    "version" : "v0.4.4.4-19-g928869d-beta",
    "protocolversion" : 60009,
    "walletversion" : 60000,
    "balance" : 0.00000000,
    "newmint" : 0.00000000,
    "stake" : 0.00000000,
    "blocks" : 41565,
    "timeoffset" : -28,
    "moneysupply" : 504308.93980800,
    "connections" : 16,
    "proxy" : "",
    "ip" : "109.188.124.39",
    "difficulty" : 292.45476415,
    "testnet" : false,
    "keypoololdest" : 1379090817,
    "keypoolsize" : 101,
    "paytxfee" : 0.01000000,
    "errors" : ""
}
novacoin@raspberrypi ~/.novacoin $ uname -a
Linux raspberrypi 3.6.11+ #474 PREEMPT Thu Jun 13 17:14:42 BST 2013 armv6l GNU/Linux
novacoin@raspberrypi ~/.novacoin $

Works quite well for solo mining or stake wallet. Smiley

Never seen that before.

But it looks like a beast.

Might have to get one myself and have a dedicated Stake machine.

I no longer sell my NVC.

I will be honest, at first, I avoided NVC, now I cherish it.

Keep up the good work!

Is there anything special I need to do to setup the client for PoS?

I saw for some PoS coins you have to setup a special config file.

No actions required, almost all of these instructions have no sense.
