Explorers at novacoin.ru & novacoin.su will be shut down in the near future, because we don't need so much explorers. We already have http://nvc.cryptocoinexplorer.com and http://explorer.novaco.in, I guess that's enough for our purposes.

http://nvc.cryptocoinexplorer.com is currently stuck at block 55673.
http://explorer.novaco.in is currently stuck at block 55745.

Only http://novacoin.ru/ appears to be working at the moment and is already at block 55756. Maybe it's a good idea to have more than two block explorers?  Roll Eyes

VS
http://explorer.novaco.in/block/00000000001a94b51f5a4c5010a99c0fded7b6a5c425edaf0ca11c27d4243f02

expolrer.novaco.in synchronized real-time from network directly

P.S. updating stopeed because daemon unloaded for some time to correct source code

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

It seems that CCE explorer has a problem with syncronization, I guess their daemon is currently down. In the meantime, novaco.in explorer engine is currently under active development, so it still has some issues with database, I think this will be fixed soon.

So, maybe you are right and we need to keep "standard" ABE explorer at novacoin.ru for this time. Roll Eyes

What is the current interest per year for novacoin? I have looked at all nvc websites and cannot find this information anywhere.

What is the current interest per year for novacoin? I have looked at all nvc websites and cannot find this information anywhere.

You can get it from novacoind with the getmininginfo call. It currently returns 710000 satoshis per year for one NVC, which is 71%. Alternatively you can use this formula: 1 / (0.08658/0.031) ^ 1/3 = 0.71 which also means 71%. In this formula 0.08658 is the current PoS difficulty.

Those who cause problems for others also cause problems for themselves.

Anyone know the answer to this :  does encrypting your wallet (putting a passphrase on it) end all your PoS minting irretrievably?

Like say hypothetically some guy was trying to mint pos blocks, and he waited 20 days with nvc in his wallet, then he put a password on the wallet, is all the minting contributions / pos work lost?  I -- errhhh--- I mean some guy were to remove the password immediately after putting it on his wallet, would it just resume where it left of regarding PoS minting, or would all the work be lost ?

THanks.

when you open wallet without password after 30 days you will mine POS block - dont worry. Now you should focus how to unlock your wallet.

There's no 'work', the client just tries different hashes until one of them satisfies the target. It's more like regular mining.
So you only need to unlock your wallet and wait until the block is found.

AW I see . Thanks guys, esp. RoadTrain, did not realize it mined like that with PoS blocks, I thought it was cumulative thing, not a more quasi-random method like regular mining.

It seems that something wrong with novacoin.org DNS server. Just sent the message to cycloid about that... Roll Eyes

Logo has no connection with the development. Anyway, I have enough BTC to cover it and will start voting thread as soon as another issues (I have a lot of those with the another project, unfortunately) will be resolved.

nvc.cryptocoinexplorer.com is back in sync. One of the issues I have run into over the time I have been running cryptocoinexplorer.com are coin daemon crashes. This is not just a Novacoin issue, but seems to plague all the coin daemons. ABE itself has no real way to detect if a daemon has crashed and attempt to restart it.
I will be attempting to instill this ability in CCE3. However, I have having an issue with DB connections vs. user threads in the web server that needs to be addressed first. The database loader is working perfectly now and I will probably add the ability to check/restart coins daemons in that module.

dreamwatcher, it's better to adjust core filesize limit. It allows system to generate crash dump after process failure and decreases debug time dramatically.

WARNING SCAM COIN PUMP AND DUMP ON BTC-e ,PREMINED COIN,NVC CRASH SOON
Dumb people have been saying this since it came out, yes it was pre-mined, but it's actively developed and has been consistently more profitable to mine than Litecoin. Only recently has Litecoin been much more profitable, and that just changed with the bump in NVC price.

Bitch and complain all you want about it being a scam coin, but if you put an identical amount of hash power on LTC and NVC 6 months ago, your pile of NVC will be a lot bigger and worth a lot more.
