Early Auroracoin price spike was not pump and dump. It was supply and demand. Baldur was the first to do the airdrop distribution method, which seemed like a genius solution to achieving critical mass.
The supply of Auroracoin was severely restricted at the very beginning, and lots of people wanted a piece of the action. Once Airdrop #1 happened coin supply exploded and price dropped accordingly.
I was watching from the beginning, and agree with what Bimmerhead says in regard to AUR, but will include that I believe the "newness" wore off too.

Actually the price had fallen from 0.14149900 where it peaked down to 0.01996670 before the airdrop even started. So clearly increased coin supply is just part of the story.

The chainz explorer https://chainz.cryptoid.info/aur/ is a service rendered for a fee by a company/somebody who found a nitch in the crytpo world specializing in block explorers. I have just relayed a message to them about this. My last requests to them were handled promptly, so my guess is that they will update this in the same manner. The explorer I am not sure about though is http://insight.auroracoin.io/ since I believe that belongs to the AUR foundation folks and the link goes nowhere?

Now located at http://insight.auroracoin.is/That makes sense. I copy/pasted the link. The link on the OP says "is", but directs one to "io" Probably needs updating

Does any one have any concerns about holding coins on bittrex?
The market has a warning of low liquidity and they seem to be quite invested in ethereum as they opened a dedicated eth market.
Does any one here not bit the ethereum story?

Why hold any coins on any Exchange. It's not necessary. An avoidable risk.

Why hold any coins on any Exchange. It's not necessary. An avoidable risk. Correct answer Molecular! Besides that, I think Bittrex is the most severely audited and therefor trustworthy exchange around next to Kraken and Coindesk.

Seems like we had another big power failure in my town so my server is down but I'm on holiday in turkey. So my services are approximately back online on Sunday when I'm back.
So I'm really sorry for any inconvenience.

It looks like AUR has a very nice selection of them to chose from.
