Is it more cost effective to buy a dedicated miner rather than setting up ur own desktop?

Is it even possible to set your won close to profitable desktop machine? I doubt for the time being; it was possible a few years ago before the ASICs came into the world.

You can still mine Bitcoin with desktops but you’re burning money for nothing. You might get a penny a year. Desktops really shine in altcoins where cpu and GPU mining can indeed be profitable, but this isn’t the bitcoin mining section after all. For possibly profitable bitcoin mining an ASC is required.

Here is a reputable site to order from when Bitmain is out:  www.eastshore.xyz

I just received a batch of S9s from them.  I was a little nervous at first, but they came through with the product.  They even emailed me about an error I had in the shipping address.

No Issues what so ever; I did not get any calls/emails from the UPS or Customs.

Hey hey,

maybe someone can help - what kind of silent-fans do work with the s9 ?
I have several fans here (max speed 2200) .. but the s9 wont start mining with them - maybe to less speed ?
SO i mounted the original airplane-turbines again to the miners .. but the noise is terrible ..

Are your fans 12v 4 pin 4 wire
The antminer wants to control its speed

Sell so many that no one can make any money outside of Bitmain?  Also, sell enough cheap enough to run out any other competition.  I bet if Bitcoin keeps going up eventually it will interest the real big dogs to start getting into ASIC manufacturing and the tables will turn..

Man I'd love to see AMD/Intel/nVidia/MSI/Asus have a go at crushing bitmain.

You and me both.  Bitmain has gotten used to being able to throw their weight around and abuse their customers and the market.  Would be ironic to see the same thing happen to them.  I know business isn't really the place to play nice but there is a way to beat all the competitors and still treat your customers well.

I want to buy s9 and start my mining farm. When i started to search for the machine, it didn't take long to find out that the machine is out of stock everywhere and you can never buy one unless you are willing to pay 3 or 4 times more of bitmains's official price. I even started to look into l3+ and dashminer, but they are not any better at the moment. This very frustrating.

For the US I guess you can get some form the forum members, I wouldn't trust any other store as there are many many scams.
In Europe I had a similar problem, missing several batches from bitmain website. However on regular intervals they seem to release new batches (but with horribly long dispatch times), so if you can wait - you wait Smiley

Hey I'm new here. From the US. I recently in the past few months have been researching. I would really like to get two s9's. Currently though I am in the same boat as Navigo. Not looking to pay double. How long are their normal intervals between batches? I'm leaning towards I will need to play the waiting game.

They release each bacth every weeks, but some times in two weeks.
