So I’ve been pretty pissed about paying $2750 for my 3rd S9 when my 1st 2 we’re only $1415 each. But I have now realized that not only does she average over 14 th/s, but IS SUPER QUIET! I’m reading 62 dB right next to her while my others come in around 82db on average. Anyone else see these results? The new k e has the Sunon fan not the Yate Loons.

That cant be right. 62 DB is still pretty noisy but I believe your DB meter isnt properly calibrated. Do note that when u put machines together, the noise amplifies itself to become louder.

Selling 100 dollar coupons (8units expire 11th June, 14 units expire 1st july) and 125 dollar coupon (2 unit exp 30th June). Selling at 20% of value

for anyone placing a large order from Bitmain to the USA, did you need a customs bond?

I used Fed-Ex for a large order (well over $50K) and did not require anything other than registering my name, address, and SSN with Fed-Ex.  ok... perhaps my e-mail too.

Mined for a living since 2017.  Dabbled for years before that.

Just retested. Same meter, without moving it. Just measured about 84-85 with old S9’s and 68 on the new. Had the meter 6 inches at most from intake fans. Miners are side by side by side and I measured 1 at a time. It is extremely notably quieter and running great.

My first s9 december 2017 batch is quieter than my others, ( but because fan running lower ) and hashing around 14th/s too... But i've flashed the firmware at the begining.

Has anyone here heard of rumors about the near launch of an Antminer S9i?
I know someone who claims that Bitmain is going to launch a mining rig (Antminer S9i) that mines Bitcoin at 35% decreased use of electricity.
The launch is supposed to be on 1st April. Does anyone have more information on this?

The question really is, even if they introduce new hardware do we trust them anymore? No matter how much hashing power or how low the power consumption is, if they sell too many, difficulty will moon making it all pointless again.

When they introduced the S9 did they limit the sales (like the 2 minute windows we got in Jan/Feb) or unlimited fill your boots availability?

S9 is on its end of life cycle, soon to be obsolete.  All these big farms with S9s will be crying soon - UNLESS - we get another huge pump wave for bitcoin.  But new ASICS are coming, S9 is no longer the efficiency king and in one year owning an S9 will be like owning an S7 now I suppose.  So probably still profitable but maybe not.  If they do not have "parts" for it, then that does not surprise me.  There is a place in colorado that repairs Antminers i think, you can look it up, i think its bitmainrepair.

I agree with opinion that the day for putting S9 to sleep is coming, what I would like to know if someone has calculated when that could be , and is it smart to sell it now while it is still worth something, or to mine for little longer before sale?

Why do you guys think that price decrease means they will release a new miner tomorrow? The prices of today almost match the prices of second half of last year before the huge spike in BTC price. BTC is now almost the same price as before the spike, so it makes sense.

S9+, S11 or whatever are just rumours, I doubt they will come up with something before the end of the year, plus if they are already testing a new machine internally we would notice a raise in global hash rate, no?

S9 Release was about 2 Month after S7 Coupons Validity Time.
So maybe this time early August 2018 ?
