Did anyone here in this thread managed to enable the ASICboost on their S9's and try to mine on one of the two pools that support it? The old rumor had it that S9 does support ASICboost under the name "multi_version" (or some such), but it was tried only on the testnet pools.
trying random numbers for bmminer.conf for parameter { ... "multi-version" : "1" } but haven;t noticed any changes. I also have tried this..........it doesn't appear to work The thing about ASicBoost is summarised as follows 'The First rule of Fight club is you do not talk about Fight Club' People don't want to tell you how to do it in case difficulty goes up.

"Bitminter now has version-rolling ASICBoost support on all mining servers.
This means your DragonMint miners, and other future ASICBoost miners, will run full speed on Bitminter.
A big thanks to philipma1957 for helping with testing - it is much appreciated!
I believe we are the fourth pool to add this. It is still not supported by most pools."
Waiting for the S9 hack for this!

Hi.
I have no idea if this is the right thread to put my questions so please point me in the right direction if not.
I have a 13,5 THs S9 Jan/2018 batch (autofrequency). Today I needed to unplug it to switch location and I've read about how to power it off with SSL before unplugging.
I installed Putty in my Windows 7 laptop, but din't manage to log into my S9. I believe i got logged in but the password wasn't accepted. I haven't changed the password for the miner so login and password are standard root-root. Obviously I ended up unplugging a hot S9 and now I'm trying to figure this out to avoid doing so the next time.
With Firefox web browser I have no problem logging in using root-root.
Can this have anything to do with the port used in Putty which by standard is 22?
Second question is about board frequencies. I noticed that the 1st and 2nd board showed 630-640 MHz about 10 min. after the reboot, but the 3rd one was showing 606 MHz and also was cooler than the others. The miner's total hashrate however seems to be normal at 13,5-13,6 THs.

Default SSH password is different from the web UI password. Try root/admin. Frequencies seem ok to me. That's that what auto frequency does - finds the optimal frequency for each board.

Thanks for the information. Next time I need to unplug I'll test root/admin and I'll try to forget about the frequensies as long the total hashrate is ok. Whish there was a way to adjust the frequensies manually on the autofrequensy S9. Or in other words optimize and speed her up a little bit. I know you're going to tell me to leave it alone, but with the BTC mining difficult increasing all the time I think we are anyhow talking about paper weights in a few months.

Anyone heard of any BLISSZ type of firmware becoming available for the s9? I would love to get my hands on it if it is out there.
The D3's were crazy overclocked to begin with (they knew they flooded the market, so overclocked last batches) so there was a big need. The new S9's dont rev as much and run much smoother, so I don't see the need. Was there something specific, or just the abilities to manage voltage and such? Got 10+ systems running Bliss, so +1 to that Dev

The final Blissz D3 system that's out there is so great. I have it on all of my D3s. (If only I'd stuck with S9s, but I had to "diversify"). The interface is so much more attractive. It offers the option of setting freq and volts on each board. And you can optimize fans for performance or sound. It really sucks that a couple of people scared him off from continuing his dev work. It was far more accessible than the bitmain FW.

How long has the RMA repair process been lately at Hong Kong worldwide repail facility? I have few S9s with dead hashboards, but I am not too eager to ship the entire units for extended period of time.

From the date they arrive in Hong Kong address, that should take additional 10-15 working days before they ship repaired board / replacement.

S9i is onsale now, cheaper capital per TH/s versus previous S9. Plus slightly more power efficient.
