Is Gulden a good investment?

Just count yourself lucky you know about this project already. When this lifts off, all those who were blinded by the top20 will whine there was nobody who told them about this. Also I can tell you that there is a group of people (don't know how big) does not bother registering at Bittrex since this month there will be a new exchange with a direct pair for NLG-EUR, which enables all EU countries to directly buy/trade without the need for BTC. After Nocks goes live it will be a total different playing field

Nocks exchange is the most important update for Gulden in 2017, I respect the development team but Prime known as PoW2 has been talked about for 2 years . Don't expect it to be ready this year.

I get the impression PoW2 and SegSig release is being held back for the 2 Euro-NLG exchanges. It makes sense from a exposure standpoint as the whole of Europe will be able to have easy access to Gulden for the major release and allow more people to Witness instead of bittrex traders
having all the advantage.

I bet the developers are ready to release.

I think you are onto something here. The lead developer on slack has been answering highly technical questions on slack regarding PoW2 and SegSig and it appears that he has the answers for everything. The Gulden team is far more intelligent then I initially gave them credit for and this would be a clever move to have the Euro exchanges out first. Nocks have announced private beta testing yesterday and Guldentrader is meant to be going live 1st October, if I were a gambling man I would say 1st of November the world will be introduced to PoW2 and SegSig.

This does look like the plan, both exchanges coming soon! No more talk of Poloniex or Kraken, Gulden does it it's own way.

I'm not really sure about  Gulden as it is a currency that focusses itself nationally (The Netherlands). I'm not sure why retailers would not use Bitcoin or ethereum instead. It's cool to own some Guldens again though. They sure do have a great team working behind it though and it could become very succesfull in local stores. I definitely think it won't flop but I wouldn't expect this to be some crazy investment where you can see huge returns.

advertising is something that has been given lower priority. obviously anything can be advertised at any moment.

Gulden is not aimed at The Netherlands. Its roots are from NL yea, but the currency is definitely focussed worldwide. There is really nothing that is focussed on NL only...

So far it has been possible to Benelux citizens only to have easy access to Gulden ( directly from euro).
Others had to go through btc first.
When more people will have easier access to Gulden ( not everyone is comfortable to go through btc), the more demand there will be. These two exchanges will bring the volumen!  More demand means higher prices. Plus when witness starts the supply will be less. So I expect a double rocket explosion here.

Have the gulden devs thought about stopping distribution from mining and end the mining part. I see all these 100% premined ICOs have a high marketcap because mining isn't pushing down the prices. I think if this coin stopped all mining it would go to $500 million marketcap very quickly because it has much more users and usage then the ICOs.

This would be a bad idea, PoW reward is going to go from 100 to 80 and the other 20 will be for witnesses, if you stop the mining component you won't be able to earn interest as a witness. Like bitcoin it's better for more users to get in cheap and experience a growth in value, a lot of the 100% premined ICOs have dropped out of the top 100 on coinmarketcap and replaced by new ones to pump and dump. These 100% premined scam ICOs will have a short shelf life and I do believe people are avoiding them more.

After these 100% premined ICOs I was considering what scammers and pump groups will be onto next because there isn't much else they can do better to scam idiots out of there money.

The Euro value is coming down nicely, it shows that when bitcoin drops everything drops in value. The dream of Gulden maintaining a stable Euro value is still a dream if bitcoin is crashing. The rank on coinmarketcap is still mid 80s since the start of the crash which proves Gulden is no more stable then any of the other alts in the top 100.

Lots of buyers coming through Nocks and they running short on Gulden, the price is starting to equalize to the Euro value. Gulden also moves into the 70s on coinmarketcap for the first time since the bitcoin rally.
