True. An escrow service would be ideal. My guess is that the funds will be used to manufacture the miners. An escrow service wouldn't give Inno access to the funds until it is "released" from the consumer.

Does anyone know if I can use 2 PSU's per rig?

According to the description, it requres 8x 6-pin PCIe power plugs. All my existing PSU's only have 6x plugs.
From what I can tell, they are advertizing a max of 1KW per rig, so that's approx 125W (11A) per plug.

I figure if I could run 3x 1000W PSU's (6*3=18 plugs) into 2 rigs (2x8=16 plugs).

Im assuming I would need to tie the ground from all 3 PSU's together, but other than that are there any known issues doing this?

There is always risk, but I have done this before with Zeus and others.
Innosilicon is a well known entity and has earned some level of trust based on prior experience.
Would I send a wire transfer to a startup, no.

This is how I felt about it given Innosilicons credibility but still a little bit concerned in their pre ordering method.

I don't know that I need the tax accounting for the physical HW.
My accountant has said that the mining revenue is treated as straight income, so I can't deduct the price of the HW from the earnings for tax purposes.

Yes - I know about the company -- I've bought many 2nd hand A2 machines but not directly from them.

Past experience does not guarantee future experience especially in the world of Scrypt miners.

Every Scrypt miner that I have seen as a pre-order (past the A2's) has turned into Vaporware or some crazy fiasco.

In my opinion one would be a big gambler to pre-order such a machine that doesn't exist.

Sounds like a nice exit-strategy to me -- for a known company to advertise a great new Scrypt miner -- a good price -- and then lead people on for months, years, and zip -- they are gone!

Lets face it -- Scrypt mining is on the way out.  Slowly, but surely.

Well, there is always risk. I feel the risk is justified based on my prior experience with them, but it's certainly possible that they could fold at any time and keep the money.
I guess im less risk-adverse than you. I feel that getting the jump on the hashrate will help me in the long run.
I fully expect to see my gear at some point, even if they haven't shown it yet, and haven't specified any shipping date yet.
I would rather be an early adopter rather than waiting for everyone else to validate the HW and try to pick something up used at a later date.
Personal choice, and im comfortable with that choice. No second guessing or buyers remorse here (at least not yet).

Well I am hopeful that this one becomes legit.  There have been so many scams for Scrypt miners over the last 2 years (from what were legit companies) and then the litecoin reward halved which was kind of the nail in the coffin for me.

I shut my 30+ A2s off -- as they just weren't that profitable to deal with (and here in Oregon we have cheap electricity).  Fun hobby it was though.

Perhaps I should sell them off on Ebay.  Definitely solid and stable machines.

Mining Scrypt is fun as there are so many different coins to mine.  I never mined LTC.  Too boring.  And never did multi-pools -- again BORING!

I travel to Shanghai in August.  Perhaps I can make time to visit Innosilicon -- if they would only respond to my emails.

Ive got 2x A2's currently running.
I still see some profit, although it's minimal, which is why im interested in the A4 with it's purported MH/W ratings.
Ill probably sell my A2's in the next few weeks to make room for the A4s.

What are the A2's selling for now?  Most of mine are 90Mhs.  The 110's always ran too hot for me so I steered clear of purchasing them.

Do you have a link on craigslist? I would be interested in some old A2's for a small side community project I'm running getting the miners into schools and Universities down under as part of a STEM project.

No, I haven't posted them yet. I was going to wait a few weeks till we get delivery estimates from Innosilicon.
There are some on ebay, and I would search your local craigslist to avoid shipping charges as well.
I sold several gridseeds that way a few months ago. They are so cheap, the shipping on ebay is a significant percentage of the price. Makes sense to do those locally.
I really don't want to shpi the A2's due to the size/weight. I would also need to add insurance because of the size/weight increasing the likelyhood of shipping damage.
