Hi guys,

we are running smos with 1060 nvidias. up to now, we had 13 running without major issues on ETH and SIA. As our mainboard supports more GPUs, we wanted to run it on 15 GPUs, but smos does no longer start.
When we remove the additional one or two, it runs again without any issues.
In the board, we read that smos supports 15 GPUs. Is there anything to add in the command line?

Any help and/or support is appreciated.

Thanks and best wishes,
JaniP

Good Day,
we are still facing the same issue - does anybody have any idea about?
Is anybody running smos with more than 13 GPUs (e.g. on the Asus b250 mining expert) on ETH and SIA (or any else)?
Does anybody please have some support for us to solve the issue of not starting up smos with more than 13 GPUs (1060)?
Many thanks beforehand!
Regards

To run that 19 slot board, you need 6 x P106 Mining Cards as a pre requisite to fully populate all 19 slots (AMD or NVIDIA for the remaining 13). Goto Youtube - Bits Be Trippin (BBT) - Carter has a full episode on that board.

Many thanks for this hint - we were supposing, it's about the miner/linux and not about the hardware.
Additional question: does anybody know, if (and when) Asus intends to fix this?
Respectively, we have seen in the video, that he is bypassing this limitation with riser extention cards - does anybody have experience with this?

Kind regards,
JaniP

Super noob to the whole process. I built a gaming rig using the latest iteration of intel i7 with a z370 mobo. I had a lot of trouble installing and dual booting Ubuntu and was only able to get the latest version (17.10) to work correctly. I was just wondering if SMOS was compatible with the new mobo and 8700k? I'm not at my rig or I would be testing rather than typing.

Appreciate any feedback. Sorry if I'm redundant, if SO already asked this same q.

SMOS just got updated to v3031

NVOS with 6 card rig on ASUS H270F motherboard and only 4 from 6 cards are mining...
250TBC Pro with 8 cards only recognise 7 out of 8..

Nvidia 1070ti are not displaying inside the "Starting miner.." section..
# GPU0 GeForce GTX 1080 Ti MB: 11172 PCI: 1:0
# GPU1 Graphics Device MB: 8114 PCI: 2:0
# GPU2 GeForce GTX 1080 MB: 8114 PCI: 3:0
# GPU3 Graphics Device MB: 8114 PCI: 4:0
# GPU4 - GeForce GTX 1080 Ti MB: 11172 PCI: 5:0
# GPU5 - GeForce GTX 1080 MB: 8114 PCI: 8:0

EDIT- Checked out config setting and it turns out someone set --dev with the card numbers... apologies to all and mostly SMOS team, all is working just fine now.

Anyone else having amd rigs crash after update? I have a 13 AMD card rig that has gone down twice in the last two hours, kind of hoping it's the update, fearing it's not the update and I am knee deep in troubleshooting for a day.

Dear Simplemining developer

I really like your os and the simplicity behind it.
To have a better overview about the miners, i made a script that logins to your site (using cookies if not expired)
to retrieve the data and build a graph with the hash rates.

Unfortunately, your newest update has destroyed this possibility by adding a captcha field.
I also read somewhere, that you have planned an api, which i would really appreciate.

Is there at least a way, to increase the lifetime of the cookie?
So that for gods sake, i can generate it once and use it a week or so,
instead of doing this 3 times a day or more?

Thanks.

Is this the same beta image for rx-nv-rc2 u had in the beta folder in downloads?
if yes it has some known issues in Kernel Bugs when it boots, but it continues after it, i was testing it for 3 weeks

in addition it has amdpro drivers 17.30 if i am correct not the latest 17.40 beta blockchain which has a lot of improvement,

can we an image with latest amd drivers ?

Thanks.

I see your point of view. Still security is most important.
But recentry from 31 December i am experiencing very high number of Brute Force.
Accually 3 clients accounts were accesed by this attacker who is getting passwords from leaked bter.com website.
I saw that and logged out + changed password to those accounts and informed those clients by email.
The Cloudflare ratelimiting feature which limits number of login tries to website isnt enought.
The attackes is using Like 3000 or more different ip addresses.
Thats why i had to implement captcha as soon as possible to protect you guys.
Thats why i also implemented 2 factor (but i need to make some fix  for it first).
Anyway i thought that cloudflare protection was enough for brute force attacks but i was wrong.
So , i cant disable captcha. The API on the other hand is very near in my plans.
Right now i need to make few other adjustments.
I also need to impmenet some more miners (ccminer) and then there will be most probably Telegram notifications of offline rigs.
After those and few other more important things i will do finally API.
I am also thinking about "feature voting" system where people would just vote what wants the most.
Then i would just know what is most important for you guys Wink
Right now it is just guessing based on incoming emails form You Smiley

The rc2 image is the same image BETA that i was giving few of you. It is working better than those previous from official.

The registration fix might be today but i guess it will be tomorrow after all.
So please hold on with registration of new users Smiley
The 2FA problem is still under investigation. We had this perfectly working on our dev enviroment but ofcourse on production it had to fuck up...

I tried the newest version of SMOS and it seems to be working much better. My GTX 1070tis now get recognized by name, but I still have the issue of GPU0 running at about 80% or less than what it should be. I've tried switching PCI slots and miners, but the same issue occurs. I have an 8 gpu Rig with 6 1060s and 2 1070tis. I'm using the Asus expert mining board, and when testing in Windows everything works fine. So I don't think it's a hardware problem. Tested Equihash with both dstm and ewbf
