Hi all.
After several hours of reading this forum from around page 250 to found a cure to my problem and to don`t waist your time with "maybe" trivial questions I get to the conclusion that I cant solve this problem alone.
So since day 1 I got some issues with hashrate. I am using 6x Sapphire nitro+ rx 580 8gb gpu and getting 17Mh/s a card mining Eth using eth miner which  is very low and I realized its even abnormal. This hasrate even after I used the oc settings, before oc I got around 14-15 Mh/s. After 3 days of mining nothing was changed, the only good news, the system was stable. After reading this forum I found out that there was the Dagfix issue with rx cards so I used the red icon on the console to update the os with the dagfix. Since than no rig. I know, now I have to reflash the original os to the usb and reboot the system with it but probably this not solve my original problem of very low performance. (Also I tried the cards in windows and without bios and oc flash they are pulling 24Mh/s each.
Hope someone can point me to the root of this problem. Cheers.
I write this 2 days ago so now its day 5 and this "NOT" so simple os  is still not going well. The 2 gentleman "Mister 305" and "logicassets" who offered to PM them, can you please enable to receive private messages from newbies.
Since than myself get to the conclusion, to get normal hashrate like in windows maybe is to get the dagfix, but since the red cloud button is crashing my system and do not fix it I started to look alternatives. To update manually the os in the pen drive. So now, anyone can please, point  me to a step by step guide how to flash the dagfix to the os. Keep in mind I am not a linux programmer thats why I need  a detailed guide, what I could not found on this topic.
Thank you.

I've been trying to mine zen and zcl on suprnova the past 24hrs, but I keep getting random connection closed by servers. I'm using dstm 5.7, has anyone else ever had this issue? Is it an issue with my miner or with suprnova?

@tytanick Please upgrade Claymore-Eth miner to version 10.3

I still have some issues with proper GPU undervolting with SMOS. See below comparison:

The same rig (8x RX 580) with SMOS and ETHOS. Same OC settings and same undervolting setup. ETHOS takes aprox. 162W less than SMOS with same hashrate. Any idea why?

can anyone help / or point me in the right direction to find help (ive tried SMOS chat a few times, dont get anyone to even reply or ack my issue):

any / all miner types im trying (via changeing miner in smos dashboard, tried xmr,eth claymore and ethminer + sgminer)   are showing no GPUs found (or similar message depending upon the miner im trying) , yet SMOS shows the amd gpu driver is loaded and sees the gpu:

Lanparty NF4 mb,  1x RX 550 ,   ssh into the smos miner shows the card and its driver:
(i have tried with monitor attached to the RX 550 4gb , and with no monitor attached,  i get same "no gpu found" error from miner apps)

miner@simpleminer:~$ lspci -k | grep -EA3 'VGA|3D|Display'
05:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Device 699f (rev c7)
Subsystem: XFX Pine Group Inc. Device 9550
Kernel driver in use: amdgpu
Kernel modules: amdgpu

any ideas (or where should i look for help)?

(smos help page just directs you to the chat, which hasnt helped at all for me)

 tks

Hey there,

I wanted to try out the simpleming os. I burned the lates IMG on Windows 10 with Etcher as suggested.

The result are two partitions on my pendrive, but both indicate that I need to format them in order to gain access.

So I can't access any of them to edit the config file.

I've also tried burning the image with HDDRawCopy1.10 with the same result.

Could you please help me out with this?

thanks!

After having so many problems with Windows 10 mining, I installed simplemining yesterday and I was instantly in love.
However the honeymoon did not last long.  The rig is not stable at all.

It goes offline and does not answer to reboot command issued from the web site.  This happens after minutes or hours.

When it crashes, the rig displays the following:
"Welcome to emergency mode! After logging in, type "journalctl -xb" to view system logs, "systemctl reboot" to reboot, "systemctl default" or D to try and to boot into default mode"

I usually hate pictures of screens but today that's what I am doing!
https://i.imgur.com/5dtoycj.jpg

And obviously I can't SSH to the rig when this happens.
Perhaps this emergency mode is triggered after an automatic reboot?

Could this be a problem with bad HW?
I actually don't trust my mobo after all the issues I had with Windows.
The OS runs from a SSD.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Hi!

Would you consider adding Gateless Gate miner to the miners list?

https://github.com/zawawawa/gatelessgate

I've tried both sgminers, but the included neoscrypt kernel has some bug in it, and won't start. I've faced this problem before (windows and linux as well), and the only usable miner I've found was this program.
I have some Radeon RX series cards.

Code:
[10:36:50] Building binary neoscryptEllesmeregw8l8lgtc864.bin
[10:36:50] neoscrypt.mine.zpool.ca difficulty changed to 384
Error in hsa_operand section, at offset 3552:
Address offset exceeds variable size
LLVM ERROR:
Brig container validation has failed in BRIGAsmPrinter.cpp

Hello

I have a problem with SMOs and 7 GPU (1060).
With 6 units no problem, it's work.
With 7, i can see all GPU in POST step, the first screen with Ubutu, 5 sec it will start. It start and nothing black screen, and i come back to the first screen of the POST step...

I use a multiplicator for information, maybe it's that.
But like GPU is detected in POST , i don't understand why OS cannot boot ??

FYI I've managed to compile and use the gateless gate miner. I've replaced the sgminer-gm files under /root/miner_org/.
