How is everyone monitoring power usages of the GPU's?   When I was running windows I could use the GPU-Z to tweak each card to optimize power usages.   I really like Simplemining os,  I think it'd be damn near perfect if we could monitor power usages.

Hey,

what license is this? Obviously it's based on ubuntu but how about the SMOS shell scripts? Can I modify them and create (and distribute) my own SMOS?

Thanks!

WHY Huh?? 1 MH instead 26MH !!!

I spent one full day trying to solve that..

Asus mining pro 250
13 x XFX RX580 8GB stock bios
All possible OC settings (currently not overclocked)

ETH - Total Speed: 14.022 Mh/s, Total Shares: 3, Rejected: 0, Time: 00:22
ETH: GPU0 0.876 Mh/s, GPU1 1.317 Mh/s, GPU2 1.642 Mh/s, GPU3 1.642 Mh/s, GPU4 0.657 Mh/s, GPU5 1.317 Mh/s, GPU6 0.000 Mh/s, GPU7
2.629 Mh/s, GPU8 0.876 Mh/s, GPU9 1.317 Mh/s, GPU10 0.000 Mh/s, GPU11 0.875 Mh/s, GPU12 0.876 Mh/s

im having the same problem
wanna trade info to see if we can manage to do it?  i have 9 xfx rx580 xxx gts
i tried messaging you on pm but you have an option blocked from getting messages from "newbies"

So, no one knows that?Huh This is such a stupid situation?

I think there is something about asus MBO settings...
I still not solved that.
Have the same results on all algo's

Same on cryptonight, 10x lower results than expected...

Have you turned on "above 4G decoding" ?

That Asus mobo is supposed to have a "mining" mode or something like that. Also are you powering up a display off of  any of the cards you are trying to mine with?

Found the problem... it was my fault, in OC page i leaved bkank OC fields.
Leaving blank those fields does not mean that the GPU will work at stock bios values. Leaving OC fields blank are resulting in 10% mining performance, as you can see....

Does anyone know if bminer will be implemented in the near future?
People are getting better results from it compared to dstm and ewbf for nvidia gpus.

So I just bought (6) Gigabyte 1050s off of Amazon. (3) Rev 1.0 + (3) Rev 1.1.   The (3) Rev 1.1's are running great(169 Sol/s with some OC mining Zen). But the Rev 1.0's are only getting 75 Sol/s. They are not applying any OC settings and the fans aren't spinning all the time either.

I am a noob(learning) so I only have picked up only a small amount of problem solving skills. Hoping someone can help point me in the right direction. And I already know that 1050's aren't the best choice but they are all that's left on the market with a decent ROI now. The (3) Rev 1.1's are great and will ROI in about 120 days. So if these can keep up I will be ecstatic.

When I run only one of the Rev 1.0's this is what I get.

ERROR: Error querying enabled displays on GPU 0 (Missing Extension).
ERROR: Error querying connected displays on GPU 0 (Missing Extension).
ERROR: Error resolving target specification 'gpu:0' (No targets match target specification), specified in query
'[gpu:0]/GPUGraphicsClockOffset[2]'.
Available core offset for GPU 0 is in
Applying CoreOffset:
Applying PowerLimit: 75 watt for GPU 0

Thanks in advance.

Sorry... Forgot to add my mobo is a MSI Z270-A Pro. And the Rev 1.0's have 6 pin power in addition to the risers. The Rev 1.1"s only use riser power.

I am trying to get my SMOS rig up. I was using at first just a 780ti and now I am trying just a 1080ti from a working rig. OC is not working and the Fans on both cards are not being controlled controlled by SMOS however, it is mining in EWBF with stock card settings. The fans remain off on the 1080ti and at 55% on the 780ti. Before EWBF starts SMOS loads the OC settings 0 core 0 mem 200W limit. Target temp 75 min speed of fans 75. The cards reach target temps and restart the rig.

I get 3 errors when loading the OC:

ERROR QUERYING DISPLAYS ON GPU0

ERROR QUERYING CONNECTED DISPLAYS ON GPU 0

ERROR RESOLVING TARGET SPECIFICATION 'GPU0' (NO TARGETS MATCH TARGET SPECIFICATION).

im wondering if these errors have somthing to do with the lack of fan control.

Asus z270-a prime mobo and the rig actually mines for a bit before temps get too high.

this is what i would like to know, im undervolting in the config but it only works if you have the dagfix update...how do you know if you have the updated RX OS? Does it do the update automatically?

I want to love this OS so much, but all I get is "no screen attached to miner". I have many rigs, all say the same thing.

I have gotten ~4 rigs working with SMOS, but all of them took 10+ tries with a brand new USB each time.

Does anyone know what to do for this? It literally takes me 2+ hours to get 1 rig working because of this error.

OC will NOT work if you dont set anything in core or mem. if you wanna OC the core, set mem to 0.

Respected admin,

You have added two new miner, sgminer & gatelessgate, but not given any help for those,

i have tried everything but i am unable to use them on my amd rx 570 12 card rig, plz give correct syntax for both of them. also tell me how we can save config file in for miner in smos.

plz help

thanks.

Website: http://simplemining.net

What is SimpleMining OS (SMOS) ?
It is nice looking and easy Operating system for mining on AMD GPUs

Most wanted info:
- idea is simple: download for free my OS and write it to any drive: Hard / SSD / even USB drive
- after that you just enter your email address in config.txt file and boot your rig
- login to simplemining.net dashboard using the same email and start managing your rig Smiley
- you can test it for free and then you need to pay only 2$ per rig per month
- if there will be new miner i will implement it fast with auto-updates system

Requirements:
- R OS = AMD GPUs R300/R200/HD7xxx series
- RX OS = AMD GPUs RX400/RX500 series
- NV OS = Nvidia GPUs (alsmost all of them)
- hard drive / ssd / usb drive - it must be 7GB or bigger
- at least 1-4GB system memory (depend how much GPUs are you using and what miner)

About me
- I am linux admin for about 13 years and crypto miner for 5 years
- Linux, programming, scripting, mining are my hobbies Smiley
- i am honest and simple IT guy who whants to make world better and give something to it

Video

Yes, please provide documentation for AMD Neoscrypt mining with Gateless Gate.

What is this "Bitcoin" of which you speak???

Has anyone noticed their GPU clocks in SMOS web panel mysteriously increase higher than the value set in the overlocking options? I set mine for all cards to 1150 yet SMOS reports 1215. It just increased by itself. No other values have changed whatsoever. I presumed that the clocks are hard set, unless the GPUS are all boost clocking up due to running colder.  Undecided

Powerstage set to 6, undervolt set to 925. These are all RX580 cards - Sapphire Nitro+ . All BIOS modded. Mem set to 2200 and 2150 (for the Hynix memory cards only).

Hello,

message from my antivirus:
La página Web https://simplemining.net/page/help se ha identificado como infectada con malware. Nombre del virus: Application.BitCoinMiner.R

Besides that I have to pay to use their system, they want to benefit from using my computer without even notifying it, it seems to me an abuse.

Your antivirus es una mierda  Cheesy But seriously there is no virus there. Your antivirus is probably seeing the names of some miners that are sometimes included in mining malware and freaking out.
