hey guys i am new here trying to learn more about the bitcoin thing going on.  Been reading alot of post and it seems kinda confusing and i cannot really grasp the concept of how it really works.  I would be most appreciative if someone could explain it from top to bottom one what it is and how it works.  I am usually a silent investor on things people want to start, usually small mom and pop shops, seems to work for me these days.  Though i am a Systems Admin for a living.

Would trade knowledge with anyone, you explain this bit coin to me and i can help you out understaning systems and how they work in a large enterprise environment.

I guess my goal here is to learn the bit coin so i can make some coin myself.  SO how long am i a newbie again?

I've been aware for a while. I'd like to make some Bitcoin connections and reduce my reliance on dollars. Nice to meet you all.

I've been reading the forums for quite a few months. Didn't have the need for a account, but decided to join recently.

Just learned about the whole concept of bitcoins and man, am I full of questions and energy to participate!

How safe is it, can I study the code, is it legal to use (high grade crypting & de-monopolizing money locally, how about tax?)

I would specifically like to work on perhaps some translations into Dutch, since that is my mother language, or anything else I could do for the community. I support the idea of getting rid of the 'banking' layer greatly.

I am printing the http://www.bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf first, to get a general overview of the principles at work, and then I will inspect the topics on this forum to see if any or all of my questions will be answered there.

Cant wait to build some website that accepts bitcoins!!

Hi, I'm just here making some of the obligatory posts before being allowed into the arena Wink

I'm Sepp (yes, it's my real name) and I have been studying to understand money systems and finance for over two decades.

Silvio Gesell's "The Natural Economic Order" makes a lot of sense to me. I would like to see whether his work and bitcoin can somehow be connected. There is a string of discussion about this, but with newbie rules and all, I can't (yet) participate.

Patience.

Hi All,

Heard about bitcoin on Radio 4 in the UK a week ago. It was a passing comment made by someone at the close of an interview.

Since then I've researched, purchased bitcoins and registered a domain name for future use (no idea what yet).

So here goes. I'm up for the ride and only wish I'd caught it when the value floored a few weeks ago.

Cheers,

ebitcoin

Hi, I'm Darío, from Argentina. It's been a while since I'm introducing myself on this bitcoin world, and I'm very hopeful about it's potential. I think that it can be a great tool. Even a revolutionary tool which we can use to build a whole new world. And I'm talking about a better world, of course.

I like to write in my spare time (I'm graduated as a scriptwriter) and I use to work as a sysadmin, network manager, technical support and those kind of tasks from the IT world. I love cultura libre and software libre, and I think that those are great foundation for the new world we all are building.

Been around a while but not a poster... Now I can't post to anyplace but newbie forum... Perhaps length of registration or total time logged in might come into play for newbie restrictions.

Thanks,
