I plan on a new PC anyway now, so I might as well join Smiley

Hi I'm new here. Very new to bitcoins in general. I have a crappy miner set up with ubuntu 10.4 and an ati 5830, bout 250Mhash/s, fortunately it is headless so I don't have to look at it.  I need some more cooling for my box, I ran out of money while I was building the dang thang so I couldn't get any case fans.  Its all kinda screwy right now so hopefully it won't cause a fire. Mybitcoin.com stole all my coin meng.  I'm here to get sympathy from people so they will give me bitcoins so I can feed my family. I live in Africa so 1 bitcoin will feed my tribe for a week! This is no laughing matter. Plus that mybitcoin dude stole all my coin so now I'm totally beat. HELP ME FEED MY FAMILY

Hi my name is Tom and I am from the Netherlands. Thanks to the site tweakers.net (one of the larger Dutch computer communities) I got interested in BitCoins. After starting out with CPU based mining (which even on a Dual Xeon with 16 threads only gave me 13MHash/s) I jumped in and bought a second hand Asus EAH5770 CuCore/2DI/1GD5 (http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/AMD_Series/EAH5770_CUCore2DI1GD5/) I installed this card into a HP DX2300MT with a dualcore Pentium 1,8GHZ (E2160) and 1 GB RAM. I am running the Phoenix miner with the modified Kernel (http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=23067.0) and running it at 930MHz GPU/300MHz RAM (1,175V VDDC) which gives me a performance of out 211,3MHash/s Smiley

I am basicly doing this for the (geeky) fun of it and hope to some day make enough BitCoins to stop working alltogether Tongue

If you appreciate my posts you can donate any number of Coins you like at

Bitcoins seems interesting and i think i will stick around this forum for a while just to see where it goes.

About myself im otherwise occupied in high performance computing on a commercial and research basis.
So this mining thing is right down my alley.

Hi!

I'm a miner and I've also invested about the size of my monthly paycheck into bitcoin. Let's see where this takes me!

Hello, everyone.  Cheesy

I've recently just discovered the Bitcoin scene (Funny I didn't notice it, sooner) and feel vested enough in it, that I may setup my computer for it someday. Until then, I've got this small Bitcoinplus account that I shall be using to test the waters, simply put. I really want to see where this goes, and I also wanted to join a community to figure out the validity of some Bitcoin services (Goods stores/currency trades).

Thanks again, and I'll try to get a standard account started soon.
