I am hoping to make some coin and I hope you all will like what I have to offer.

Here is a peek of what than entails (nsfw) http://imgur.com/a/fOqLf and if I get enough of a response I will do a cam4btc showing later.

Have fun and hope to offer more!

Hi I'm Icepick and I'm a bitaholoic.   Tongue

I really started getting into the bitcoin a few months back... I knew about it at the first of the year - but didn't look into it.

Now I'm doing business in trade for bitcoin and I find it the most effective way to ignore the government.

Howdy. I'm interested in many things, including software development and economics. I've been following bitcoin since Nov 2010. I even gave a talk on how bitcoin works. I'd like to post to other forums here so I'm saying hello here!

Hello,

I began bitcoin mining about a week ago.

I originally bought a massive gaming rig thinking I would play a lot of games, but after trying most of the games that are available right now I found that there wasn't really anything that held my interest.

Most of the games out there involve either a lot of killing people (which isn't any fun for me) or doing what amounts to busy work like collecting X roots and killing Y orcs for hours on end in exchange for some woo-woo sounds and a flash of pretty graphics.

So I put my machine to work mining bitcoins while I'm at work and when I'm sleeping.

I have two Radeon 7970's, both liquid cooled and a Core i7, also liquid cooled, all three running on GUIminer. The two Radeons are using poclbm with vectors at around 550Ghash/s each and the CPU is using uasoft at around 24.7Mhash/s.

Interestingly even with both GPU's and the CPU water cooled with three radiators and 12 fans the PC still works quite effectively as a space heater. I have to keep a fan going and a window open or my apartment heats up to about 85F.

I realize it's pretty pointless to hash with the CPU since it's probably costing me more in electricity than I'm earning at 24.7Mhash/s.

The CPU runs at about 85C (tjmax is 150C) and the GPU's run about 50C.

Mining bitcoins and learning about the currency and the community has been a lot of fun.

So far I have mined 5.45 BTC since I started mining 6 days ago, which means I'm mining about .9 BTC per day.

However, I ordered 2 ASIC units, one BFL SC Single (preorder) and one btcfpga bASIC miner (also preorder), because I wasn't sure which would ship first and I wanted to get as much hashing in as I could before the difficulty goes through the roof.

The only problem I've had so far is figuring out the best way to exchange bitcoins for actual fiat currency (in the form of USD).

The available methods seem pretty hokey. It seems like everyone wants to buy bitcoins but there's no established, formal system for it.

I've come to bitcoin after hearing about it on a NPR "Planet Money" podcast.  Yes it was an old podcast and I'm late to the show!  The bitcoin story has a little bit (no pun intended) of all the things I like to read about.  I'm probably equally facinated by the technology and economic implications.

Hi all

Sounds like I've registered for a similar reason as most others here.  Find bitcoin quite a fascinating concept.

My first day of heavy bitcoin buying, and the price was down around $10. My dive into the future of global finance has flown off to a magnificent start. I ended up spending 15% more than I had budgeted. When I saw that the price had dropped, I couldn't resist

congratulations are in order. Welcome to our little club Wink.

It sounds like you're a bit like me when it comes to trading: too emotional. So be careful, don't loose your coins! Just being long and staying long is a good option imo, and very easy to manage, too Wink
