Hey my name is Alex. I'm a student in Missouri. I just got into the bitcoin game and I'm playing around with it right now.

I browse this community a lot, but just recently made an account.

Cheers!

don't be so negative, the 5-post-4-hour-rule is there for a reason: to get rid of the trolls. NOT to piss newcomers off.

relax take it easy and smile. Cheesy

Hi peoples of bitcointalk forums.

I'm here to figure this BitCoin business out! Finding decent information about cryptocurrencies is fairly difficult for me as I am more on the economics side than the technology side in my studies. BitCoin still looks exciting to me. I like having the opportunity to not only get in on something that has never been done before, as well as I always seek to support ideas I like with the backing of my investments.

The thing is... I would like more simple instructional materials, as a tech n00b I can teach myself things with clear instructions, but I find that sort of "lay-man's" how-to's hard to come by as well (esp. from anyone credible) I know when you get right deep into something it is hard to "dumb it down" for interested parties such as myself, but until there are basic, secure, trusted clients to aid user with safe and secure usage of the currency, interested investors may remain intimidated by the scripting talk etc.

I'm not mad, tho. I'm glad to be in this forum! Even where I stand right now I'm prepping to mine and am eyeing the MGotx like a hungry bear.  Grin Roll Eyes Grin Cheesy Wink Grin Shocked Roll Eyes Tongue Grin

Hello fellow bitcoiners,

I'm a small miner from june 2011 and sold my first bitcoin for 14$ made with old 5770. Since then managed to byu 3 5850's and mined some coins, but diff raise and one card broken after a while made my operation harder. Last winter had to sell coins for 2-3$ to pay for elektricity, and not feeling very lucky for beeing informed and clever to find out about bitcoins after all.

Asking you to donate some of your assets if you feel luckier than I am now, small amount is enough. Thanks in advance, no hard feelings if you're not feeling rich enough to donate

Proud owner of two sapphire 5850 oc'd to 950/300 ~750MH

plan: invest some btc to pyramining (already lost 2btc with deposit directly from mtgox to pyra, stupid!)

I decided to join the BTC mining revolution because of the major hardware evolution and high trading price, so I thought I would check out some forums. I'm also interested in exploring BTC as an alternative currency to create fair trade markets in developing nations.

Hello! I run a blog for those playing bitcoin poker, mainly on Seals with Clubs but any poker site that accepts bitcoin is cover. What's the rules on posting to your blog within posts? I occassionally write articles that might pertain to some threads/posts and would like to know what the rules are so I don't get banned right off the bat lol!

In fact I'm trying to instal MultiBit 0.4.20 client in Windows 8 (Windows 7 should be the more or less the same)... Problem, though it says it is compatible... First of all, Windows block the installer, saying "Unknown publisher". If you ignore the alert (dangerous in general) and go on, the installer cannot write in "Program Files" directory. If you select another(not default) installation directory, also failure, because the installer cannot write atthe Registry. Huh
I wonder what's going wrong, since it's a well known client, supposely compatible with Windows 8, used by so many people and, searching with Google, I cannot find anything about this problem. Very strange.
Anyway, I'll ask at the specific subforum and thread, but if anyone is using MultiBit in Windows 8 or 7, just tell me.
Thanks!
