Hi, Been aware of bitcoin for about a year now, but only recently taken it seriously. Made a few trades recently and wiped out nearly half my first $500 deposit into MtGox with the madness over the past couple days. Logged in today to find my entire account wiped out, similar to this http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=13322.0I have a support ticket in for this issue, but just a warning to newbies. Probably not a good idea to keep too much in the exchange. Hopefully it will be resolved. This is not cool. I would hope that this issue would be able to be resolved granted its MtGox....

Hi all, my name is Tony Rayo but I go by DBG/DeeBG (or sometimes Phobits if I need a name that makes since =p). Whenever I'm asked to describe myself I tend to recycle what I came up over time as my Twitter profile, which is as follows... "Former Bio-medical Engineer - Professional Photographer + Software/Hardware Developer + Digital Illustrator/Pixel Artist; I play a mean bass guitar as well!". A few of those titles are pretty generic I know, but I doubt many of you are interested in my life story . Regarding Bitcoin, I am currently working on a CUDA-exclusive miner as well as a couple of side-projects with/for other people and will let them disclose that as they wish. Glad to be part of the BCT Family!

I come to bitcoin from the online poker community. I'm enthused by the concept and am enjoying the learning process and making my first transactions. Thanks for the wealth of info, I hope to be able to contribute.

How did you link online poker with Bitcoins..? XD I run poker-related websites that support and promote online poker rooms. For a couple years we've worked with Switch Poker, that runs games in Euros but accepts Bitcoins for deposits and cashouts. I think they might have games in bitcoins now too but I'm not certain. Then recently Micon from Seals with Clubs got in touch with us to do a review on one of our sites. Instead of doing the review, I've spent a few dozen hours doing the requisite bitcoin reading. Seals runs only in bitcoins btw - you deposit, play, and cashout with them.

"The powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent meetings and conferences. The apex of the systems was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world's central banks which were themselves private corporations. Each central bank...sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the level of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by subsequent economic rewards in the business world."
- Carroll Quigley, CFR member, mentor to Bill Clinton, from 'Tragedy And Hope'

Plus half the time I am at work, and I bring my personal laptop with me.. I may not be making a ton.. but if http://www.bitcoinx.com/profit/ is right.. currently (I know it will get much worse come ASIC time) I should be making about $2 a month.. I know.. fat roller! I am mostly in it for fun at this point.. But with a Jalapeno and a 'Little' Single SC ordered.. who knows.

Welcome and thanks for adding another Node to the network Hope yours and my ASIC devices are on the move soon, Otherwise happy mining mate. I appreciate that. I know I am a tiny guppy in a giant pond of sharks (or giant blue whale in the case of ASICMiner), but I am having fun.. I plan on buying a little Raspberry pi and making a little mining rig when my ASICs come.. and maybe get ahold of some used GPUs on craigslist or something
