Well, what you're saying is very intelligent, I never thought that way. That may be intelligent then to save, but with people with little rigs like me (210 H/s), taking a drop of value would kill like a week of mining and would not be very good for my monthly balance. What I'll do is maybe to dedicate a R9 380 to mining ZCash to my Poloniex account, since the other ones are mining to my Bittrex account, with auto-sell enabled.

Have you checked if auto-sell is profitable for you ?
It looks like this interesting feature always sell at a lower price that the one you would expect.

No, checked nothing. Heck, if I earn 10% less, I don't care. That's such a peace of mind you know. At least now I don't constantly check altcoins' prices. I even forgot my rigs at some moments Wink !

For the debate of today, to speak in W/H, I'm at 1. However, if I consider only my two RX 470, I'm at a blazing 0,72. However, that does only count the cards, so that might be less accurate, but that still gives an idea of how it is performing.

since the BTC is trending up now, why not sell your hash at Nicehash and get BTC rightway?

That would be my dream you know, but on my Nvidia miner it doesn't work so forget about it and on my AMD rig, my main rig, I never went long enough in the analyse. It always crashed, but never took time to just see what the error is (because I have one screen for the two miners, and the VGA cable is going from on to another, and it always crashed when it was on the other rig). I'll think about that tomorrow Wink !

Looks like we are facing last days of ZEC mining. With the same rate of dropping the price tomorrow ETH will be again more profitable.

Unless v7 will give us 25% more

I have stopped doing 6 x GPU rigs, and standardized on 4 x GPUs and moving away from PCI-USB risers.

Since Phil's recommendation on Biostar Z170 Racing, I have my 5th rig based on the mobo - very pleased with outcome and minimal issues. Overall rig cost makeup is also lower due to lower watts PSU and M2 SSD. Even the power switch is done away with because of the on-board power/reset built in into mobo.

So, you have eliminated the expense of risers and power switches and gained the M.2(I love these).  Are there heat issues with the gpu's so close together?

Would that offset the cost of the power of the motherboard power usage?  Ex.  I can get 6 or 7 gpu's for 1 motherboard.  1 motherboard is xx Watts spread over the revenue of 6 gpu's rather than 4 gpu's.

Phil's favorite Z170 board is on sale/rebate for ~$100.  With the current slide in price, I'm having a hard time convincing myself to keep investing in more mining equipment.  Anyone else still expanding operations?

Is it time to switch over to ETH?

You have to crunch the numbers for YOUR situation.

For me on the rigs I was running ZEC on, it became a tossup a week or so ago, and definitively more profitable a couple days later.

For others, it may very well be more profitable NOW and for another month to stick with ZEC.

Profitability on the two is close enough that specific variations can AND DO dictate that there is no "one true answer" to that question other than "it varies".

Not on ZEC, but I've got parts on the way for my next triple-card machine for doing "something else".
Unfortunately, seems like profitability on all the higher-profit coins has dropped quite a bit the last week, as folks drop out of ZEC in large numbers and go back to "what they were doing a month ago".

ZEC is earning less than eth for me now.

Some new farm plugged a TON of hash onto the network, sad day indeed.

If you did not plan on using PCIe risers, in my opinion, the Dell is not worth it.  It only has one x16 slot, the others are x8 or PCI.  See this pic below

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-Precision-690-Motherboard-Heatsinks/131982875322

The HP is slightly better.  It has two PCIe x16 slots.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Z600-Workstation-Main-Motherboard-System-Board-461439-001-/111946753923?hash=item1a108be783:g:5UsAAOSwxcRW9Br7

You could use risers, perhaps, with either board, but that may defeat the purpose. You'd also need a better PSU for sure. The OEM unit would not have enough PCIe power connectors.

You may as well get a more modern board with x1/x16 slots that actually have more slot opportunities.

I would pass.

Thank you for the informations.

Is there a reason why you don't put more Rigs to this NH multi algo miner ?

Thinking of resuming my NH multi-algo mining experiment next week - cannot compete with the way ZEC is moving now - need a better way to collect profit from multi-algo. Planning to get all R9s - Nanos and 390 do NH multi algo. The 480s will go back to ETH.

If I provided you good and useful info or just a smile to your day, consider sending me merit points to further validate this Bitcointalk account ~ useful for future account recovery...

I am using Claymore's Dual Miner v7.3 for ETH and Claymore's ZCash Miner 6.0 for ZEC.

Claymore's Dual Miner v7.4 for ETH just came out, but not too many improvements to justify shutting down and restarting.

Claymore's Dual Ethereum+Decred AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner.
=========================

Latest version v7.4:

- added "-retrydelay" option.
- EthMan: added "View miner console" command.

I haven't been able to figure out the miner console as of yet.  I have a mac computer that I remote onto each miner with team viewer right now.

my rx 470's and rx 480's  are under volt and under clock at stock bios.

ZEC

7.9 amps at 240 volts = 1896 watts

2.1 to 2.2 kh

power cost = 1.9 x 24 = 45.6 kwatts say 46 at .127 cents = $5.85 a day

yesterday I earned .281 zec at .102 btc a zec  = 0.028662 btc = 21.24 usd  so my profit was $15.39   for thur the 17th

I am not counting the value of heat  maybe $1.25     So I made $16.34 over power yesterday.

I can not tell you how happy I am that msi 4.3  is allowing for under clock and under volt.

my fans are all at 50%  the room is quiet and  the entire setup is doing about 1900/2200 = .8636 watts per H

the best rig is a three card  biostar z170  gives me .7997 watts per H  uses a titanium seasonic  this rig runs  under 300 watts  for about 375 H

yesterday I earned .281 zec at .102 btc a zec  = 0.028662 btc = 21.24 usd  so my profit was $15.39   for thur the 17th

That is incredible!!  I do not have anything that efficient.  I have not underclocked anything as of yet, but may be getting into the business of underclocking!

Great Job!

just stock bios.

msi 4.3 afterburner

-95 mv

-20 power setting

1050 core

1625 gpu memory

50% fans

now all my cpus are t's
all my psu's are high quality

i7 4785t in the  asrock h81  uses a titanium seasonic 850 watt 240 volt 4 cards =  2 msi rx 470's,  2 xfx rx 470's

i7 6700t in the asrock z170 extreme 3 uses     evga 750 watt titanium                     3 cards  all msi rx 470's

i3 6100t in one biostar z170             uses a corsair platinum 760 watt 240 volt 4 cards =   2 rx 480s diamond  ,  2 sapphire rx 470s all blower

i5 6500t in one biostar z 170 uses a titanium seasonic 750 watt  240 volt 3 cards =  1 msi rx 470, 2 xfx rx 470

i5 6500t in asus z170    uses a silverstone titanium 700 watts 240 volt 4 cards = 1 sapphire rx 470, 1 msi rx 470,  2 xfx rx 470

so 7.9 amps  at 240 volts  and 2.1-2.2 Kh

I have room for one or two gpu's

I can crank the gear up to about 10.6 amps  but   heat , noise jump up and the efficiency per watt goes from .86 to 1.03

My wife told me she is happy with the noise level  she actually thought I turned the gear off!

I left 550 H/s on ZEC and switched second with 175MH/s on ETH

ZEC did not survive even 1 month...

I am with you brother!  I have converted back to ETH from ZEC.

Just loaded clay 7

more improvement

my amps dropped from 7.9 to 7.7 I was able to lower fans more

so 7.7 x 240 = 1848 watts  so say 1850

and looks like  H is going to 2.3-2.4

this would be .77 watts a H/s across entire system.

here is hoping it all stays stable.
