Two more hours to go... mods please save me!

First off I have to say thanks for the great site.  Talk about the definitive BTC bible!  Anything you wanted to know about Bitcoin is right here!  I still remember downloading my first GuiMiner client from one of these threads.  All the time spent reading about different cards.  How people went crazy early on over 5830s and "urban legend" said they were the best $/performance but then when you tested the actual Mh/W on them they end up being the worst of all the 5-series.  I also remember the day I realized undervolt/overclocking was not mutually exclusive, to get the best efficiency do both!  I would also recommend a KillaAWatt meter to anyone even just starting out.  The amount of insight that has given me is enormous (hint:  if the power draw remained the same, that last change in reality did *nothing*).

Respectfully requesting a get-out-of-jail promotion.  Thanks much for listening!

Greetings,

I've been mining for a bit and I'd like to participate in your forums.  I'm an IT pro with about 20 years of experience in hardware and software.  I've been toying with all the miners and I have a fair bit to contribute.

The reason I'm actually asking for whitelisting is because I was recently scammed on a craigslist ad for hardware by a person named Andrew Nollan.  I would like to post to thread about him.  Turns out he seems to have quite a history on these boards. This person has sold me one good bit of hardware off craigslist, and one bad one.  He has made promises he has not kept regarding the replacement of the bad item, and I think I see a pattern now that i've googled the guy....Seems like he has a history of being a scam artist.  And boy can he talk a good line!

It looks as though he uses the nickname 'Shakaru' -  let me know.

Please Mods whitelist this guy fast...  We all want to hear the details..  Smiley

Are you vouching for him?
A simple yes or no is enough.

I dont know the guy, but he seems sincere, I will vouch for him if it makes any diff...    yes..

I'm new to the BTC world, but I've spent the evening reading through as much as I can absorb.  I have concluded that mining is not for me at this time, but trading is.  I understand the broad system, believe in the currency and wish to speculate through trading based on an a difficulty vs price approach.  I also think that there is much need of additional services and retail prospects in taking bitcoin in a seamlessly integrated fashion.  I hope to use my retail/IT development background towards this goal to both benefit the bitcoin community and honestly more so for my own success.

BTW is it just me or is the overall feel of this environment a little hostile?  I wonder if that is unavoidable with the nature of online+financing... but I sincerely hope it can be made more friendly while remaining secure.  Maybe that's the nut I should be trying to crack Smiley  Off to read some more.
Don't worry, the hostility goes away after you're here for awhile.

Another noob in noob prison.  Sad Looking to discuss the economics of bitcoin in that section porfavor. Would like to talk about europe, capitalism (and bitcoin's potential effect as it is essentially re-writing the rules of the market as we know it).

Thanks much

I'd like to be let out of the newb area if that's possible.  I used to mine Btc on 4x 7970 and 2x 6870 but now use the same setup for solo Litecoin mining.  I've been on these boards as an observer for eight months now but have never felt impelled to join a conversation until now.

Hey I would like to get out as I am interested in bitcoin mining and potentially buying some 5830s to make it profitible. I would like to ask the members of the mining community some questions, so I need access to the mining forum.

I have been online way longer than the widget is showing, I should have been moved out of the newbie forum a few hours ago already, plus I am a master trader, and an autistic savant with a 400 IQ, I know every bitcoin address by memory, and I graduated top of my class in speculative economics at the Jerusalem College of Technology, I am 201 years old in base 3, and I have a few cents to invest in bitcoin.

If you have a need to be allowed into the forum beyond before you have completed the required 5 posts and 4 hours logged in, please post your request here. You must provide evidence that shows that you either understand more about Bitcoin than the average newbie, or that what you want to post can only be done in another forum. Reasons such as "I'm not a spammer" will be ignored. Try to be as specific as possible.

If you learned of Bitcoin through a currently established member of this forum who feels that you are ready to be released to the rest of the forum or who is willing to mentor you, or if you want to make a new account that is separate from your already-existing established forum account, have the existing user/account vouch for you after you have made your request.

If you are asking to be whitelisted because you are having a problem with something, we generally look more favorably on people who have already attempted to solve their issue in the Newbie board. Even if you end up not qualifying for preemptive whitelisting, your post might still qualify for being moved to another board if you have received insufficient help after a few hours.

Please note: If you see "Jr. Member" by your name, you have already met the 5 posts and 4 hour requirements and don't need to post here. Additionally, after you meet the requirements, it can take up to 10 minutes for your account to be automatically upgraded.

Well, I can't seem to post anywhere, but now I understand why.

Let's see:

I've been mining on a pool (with GPU) for roughly 2 months now, so I still consider myself a rookie. I mine with a 5750, which is giving me a standarized rate of MH/s - for the average joe. (no overclock, yet).

The amount of bitcoins I get isn't quite giving me enough to supress some of the expenses with the electicity bills (as a whole, I mean, the total bill itself), but I plan on setting up my own rig (I always wanted to be a "farmer", just not the traditional one Wink).

So yeah, I already pre-ordered (3x, can't afford more at this time) the upcoming Japaleño from BFL. I know about recent analysis that state that the difficulty will raise, at some point, to about 10x (plus 17~20%, if I'm not mistaken), but I still feel like giving it a shot. I'll be pumping 10.5GH/s, which I assume will be enough to pay for the 3x Japaleños in a matter of 6 to 8 months, given the difficulty increasement (speculation) of x10 (plus 17-20%).

Hopefully it's enough to prove I know atleast -something- about the subject.

Actually one of the reasons I came back to post is for the BFL SC order wait list (since I need to add myself to the list): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=89685.0

If I could get a whitelist there, that'd be great!

EDIT: Also, I used to be a full member here...since June 2011 actually, and I've posted here before. Maybe because it's been a while since I've logged in everything got reset to 0?

I wouldnt mind being whitelisted if its ok - I have been lurking here for ages but took too long to register and only just realised I would have to create "fluff" posts in the noob section to get out of the spam den we're forced to play in.

Feel free to look up my IP, I've been reading all day Smiley

I registered to contribute to the developmental efforts. However, rummaging through this subforum for 4 consecutive hours is time not well spent.
