I would start by showing them my bank's online account.
They need to see the incoming amount and the expenses recorded online.
They need to understand that money does not grow on trees or magically appear so they can buy the latest gadgets.
Teenagers are very internet savvy these days - you would be surprised when you realize how fast they can get the concepts.

Tell them a brief history of bitcoins.  The benefits.. the ease of use and the potential since it is a deregulated currency.

In order to get the maximum amount of activity points possible, you just need to post once per day on average. Skipping days is OK as long as you maintain the average.

Seems a working plan but for adults or for those who are earning/managing funds. Teen agers or children are living totally in a different world which is completely filled up with full of dreams. Yes, just a fantasy world. So I believe, we need to target them by showing them some imaginary way of having better benefits from bitcoin investments

To tell them bitcoin in a word that they will understand, we need to consider their thought, stage of maturity, in what activities they are interested and use them to trigger their interest. If we can know their minds then it will be easier to tell them about bitcoin in their own "language".  One example is telling them that bitcoin is a kind of "token" where their favorit toy or console game can be bought by bitcoin and that they can get bitcoin for free if they are willing to do some task and they can buy their favorite console games if they have earned enough.

i think bitcoin is one of currency,it is not necessary to explain bitcoin to children like USD, RUR etc. they should not give time to any other activity without their study , they should give time only to their study.
no i disagree , when you introduce bitcoin to anyone no matter it's a childern or teenagers or even old people
there would be an influence to the people around
for example when you introduce to a childern that you can buy a game online easier using bitcoin
you don't need a bank accounts or to have an age over 17 etc , then they would start to ask their parents , and the journey to spread bitcoin around your places started.
When you deal with children that means minors, you need to be very careful as with bitcoin they might get into illegal activities and my compromise their future. We know how risky it is online and they can even gamble online although kids are not allowed as because of bitcoin we can hide our real identity. I believe bitcoin is not good for minors.
Just watch them closely in using bitcoin as parent
Educating someone about bitcoin knows no age , you just need a proper and easy sentences to make them understand
As mostly the problem in explaining bitcoin to common people especially an underage people is on diction.
They think bitcoin created and usable for a tech savvy only if you did not explain it properly .

Bitcoin is difficult to explain. I also felt difficulties in understanding bitcoin for the firs time. Let's share how to explain bitcoin to children of teenagers. In My country I can say 98% children don't know bitcoin. In fact, bitcoin can be future money. If the children not familiar with cryptocurrency or bitcoin, how can they face the digital era in the future.

A high number of teenagers use bitcoin (comparing the age of 30-40) and explaining to them is easier than explaining to a 40s person, but for children it is a bit more difficult since they don't know much about the digital money besides their virtual game coins.

Tell to children play some internet games that pay Bitcoins. They will have fun and earn money at same time. And teach them to use faucets, so you can have a little extra income without make effort on faucets... It would be like a human bot.  Smiley

And to teach all the rest, just show them how this works. Create a wallet, make some transactions... Easy to explain to anyone, that is why I like Bitcoins. Anyone with some informatic knowledge can start using it without problems.

for children, you can teach them by playing or using cartoon movie or 3D art in video that looks fun, then show it to them. I think children love such thing, so probably they will be interested in watching it. so when they watch, you just need to explain some. it makes your explanatiom easier.

It is going to depend on how big is the IQ of the child or teen you are talking with. If his IQ is quite high and good then for sure no matter how hard or easy you are going to explain what bitcoin is, he can just simply understand it easily. But if that person has a very low iq, no matter how good your explanation is, still he will not get it.

Best way of explaining is using the gold analogy.

But I think explaining it to a person in his/her early teens will be quite diffiicult. Best to wait till the person reaches late teens and then explain
Yes ,it is so hard to explain to them especially if they are not interested to waste just like 2-4hours a day spending time to bitcoin .
But its easy to explain if the teenagers are openminded with business and money and they know how value each money that goes on their hands
You just have to help them open their mind. Explain thorough, I know it would be difficult for them but with your help they can in time. Don't just let them to explore this on their own they might have seen it in the other side but rather introduce this to them step by step especillay when you havr siblings.

I think The meaning of this thread is introduce bitcoin to teenagers and children who did know about bitcoin yet. Teenagers and children with curiousity will easier to understand about bitcoin. I think they will really interesting with youtube video. Becouse it is more easy to explain. With youtube their brain learn by visual and audio, very good idea about it.

@questionauthority lol great punchline

Actually they(or people in general) start to have curiosity about something when they need it so I don't think childrens have to learn about bitcoin or whatever, we can see the Venezuela thing right now, so now they(all citizens) have a bit of curiosity on bitcoin and that's how to introduce people on it.

"Like a human bot" that exerts much more energy than the profit that he makes. Online games that pays bitcoin for tasks and whatnot are extremely boring. Faucet sites are extremely boring. I don't think it's worth turning a kid or a teenager's life into a "human bot" for just a couple of dollars. Easy tasks like that will never take you anywhere. Even if you do that every single day for years, you'll never be successful.

explain to teenagers yes but i don't think you should start explaining bitcoin to kids before explaining to them how money works and what money really is Smiley

but in general i think using a video is the easiest way you can explain bitcoin to anybody at any age. and youtube is filled with videos and some of them are actually good.

Bitcoin is still money that teenagers need to understand.  That they dont grow on trees and that one needs to work for it.. or be in business so money could grow.

If we fail to teach them proper finance.. they can easily disregard sound financial principles and lose their Bitcoins down the drain.

this is also could be good study for them and in my opinion it's very necessary explain bitcoin to children or teenager indeed we must explain it slowly and do not push them to understand only in short tence because if we forcing them to understand then usually they will be bored with our explanation and why i said that because children will determine the future of bitcoin and we as bitcoin user will getting old so they will instead of us as the next bitcoin users after us and i think indirectly this is will keeping bitcoin still alive for next 20 or 30 years

Well I think teens or children doesn't really need to know that much about bitcoin, you can just tell them that bitcoin is a Cryptocurrency and that's it! if they would question you if what is cryptocurrency then I think explain to them how real money works and I think that would be your base for cryptocurrency, and when they turn older enough they I think that would be the time they can fully understand about it!

I would say we should even not tell them if something like bitcoin exists, because it is not really easy to understand the technology of bitcoin and it will just make them confused, better let them grow older and then they would themselves come to know about it or you should tell them about it later on.

It trully is a waste of time. They will never understand it. Kids and teenagers don't want to hear about how a currency works or any of the details, they will find it boring, they can't be bothered, most adults can't, let alone kids and teens, let's just focus on making bitcoin work as expected by casual people.
