I had the difficulty of understanding bitcoin and as a matrr of fact there are still things that are not clear for me when it comes to bitcoin. But explaining it to a teenager or a child is a different thing, if you will explain this to a child you can say that bitcoin is a new kind of currency and other information that are basic.

for me also is difficult to explain but I have better idea. I just introduce bitcoin to children by showing them a video. There's a lot of video showing on how bitcoin works and how to used it like youtube media is the best technology to teach children.
Yes i think it will be easy to explain it if you just let them watch videos regarding bitcoin, then if they have questions or curious about something answer it. my 8 year old daughter also ask what im doing because she saw my btc wallet and she dont understand, i told her that its a digital currency that can be use to buy items online just like fiat. she didnt ask further questions i think she would understand it slowly.

Video representation would be a great idea since kids now love online gaming and video games, it may hard to understand at first but soon they'll know it since children's now were exposed in internet.
Kids will be kids and they will just love video games and other fun stuff rather than listening to you on how bitcoin works and how to earn it because kids doesn't have that much interest in getting money for their young age and they just want to have fun while teenagers will be partially suited for learning bitcoin and that is where we should put our attention on explaining to teenagers.

I think children will not care about bitcoin, only a few exceptions, when a child is in a difficult situation, it needs income, it will look to bitcoin if it hears someone talk about bitcoin. . I used to be a kid like that, at that time I needed money, and bitcoin helped me a lot. Now, I'm a students of university, and I continue to work with bitcoin.

They are not interested in long bitcoin understanding, one way to get them interested is by providing an understanding of online gaming applications on their smartphones, they can learn from how to generate and use bitcoin tokens, automatically they will also know the type of wallet and knowledge of cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin is difficult to explain. I also felt difficulties in understanding bitcoin for the firs time. Let's share how to explain bitcoin to children of teenagers. In My country I can say 98% children don't know bitcoin. In fact, bitcoin can be future money. If the children not familiar with cryptocurrency or bitcoin, how can they face the digital era in the future.
True, bitcoin is really not that easy to explain to anyone, in fact most of the adults can't get the catch of bitcoin easily how much more the teenagers, isn't right? So the best thing we can do about it, I think let us just show the features and usages of bitcoin so that they will become familiar unto it.

It's not difficult to explain about Bitcoin to children or teenager,  there are a  lot of links, vedio and so many things that can be helpful to understand about bitcoin.
But one thing I want to know that is it viable for the children or teenager??

Not easy to explain bitcoin self, and I think the easiest way to explain bitcoin to teenagers or children is to download videos that are associated with bitcoin. With the video then everything becomes easier to understand.
Someone without the knowledge of computers or the wisdom of trying to explain technological situations will have a hard time to explain Bitcoin to the people of the newer generation.

I would like to get a bunch of video tutorials and show them to someone that was interested in Bitcoin, I wouldn't show those videos in-front of someone that was young though because they shouldn't need to watch that kind of stuff at such a young age.

It's good to expose those who are capable to understand internet ,online earning to teenagers since some of them were in need of money to help their family and provide for future .So explaining bitcoin early to them is a good decision since its value soon will be higher in time.

Bitcoin is difficult to explain on children but explaining on teenagers will be great idea. I as teenager I used bitcoin for educationl purpose. Explaining on teenagers is not that difficult as long as he/she is willing to learn. Firs you should introduce to them on how bitcoin works and tell them the prons and cons of it. Next is give them a link on youtube to widen their knowledge about it. And last, let them practice on how will they grow it and guide them.

Well, it will not easy. I think the best way to let them know about bitcoin is let them use it as a real type of money. YOu know, no one teaches us how to use money

You are right, You just tell them the basic things about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies first. and leave them discover it by searching in the internet and develop their knowledge about this domain.

yes i am also agree with you, i also do not think that it is so easy for them to learn about btcoin. i think they even do not need to learn about it as first they need to fulfill their study and after that if they like they can learn about bitcoin .

It is hard to explain bitcoin to teenagers especially children. I also have difficulties in understanding bitcoin especially the ways of earning and using it or spending it. But if you want to explain it to them just tell the simple explanation about it like bitcoin is a kind of currency which you can use for spending earning and saving. Explaining them in a simple way can make them think that bitcoin is easy and they may come up having a research on their own.

It is much easier to introduce bitcoins to teens ,just show them some proof that you are earning $$$ even staying only at thier houses. But some teens even you showed them your proof they wont have any interest on it, only those open minded teens can relate.

understanding bitcoin is not too hard and I am saying it because we are already here understand it.so in future era when our children's or future citizens will be much more smarter and their technologies will be much more advanced than ours and so their understanding and learning capacity. they will learn stuffs more faster than this generation  and not only that they will implement their understanding to build new systems.

You are right. Time have really change nowadays. I remember when my mom and my grandmother always seek for help when they have a new phone or when our smart TV is out of reception, while a 12 years old nowadays can easily operate it without seeking help. Maybe when in terms of intelligence quotient capacity, the future generations and previous ones don’t quite have a large gap but the era right now is born in information technology and it really have a big advantage because in order to know a specific information in the past, one must have to go to a public library.

I try and explain it to educated adults and still few get it or are interested  Cry

I’ve experienced that situation too. Well maybe because they are not open minded to new possibilities and because they are educated, they think that they know better and what was younger generation doing is just trash.

Did they not seek help right from the start? If so, then the kid you were referring to must be a genius. He has to be taught the basics first (just like on any other stuffs). Computers and smartphones were purposely made to be very very intuitive. When you open a new application, you can easily explore it by yourself without having someone to teach you because it's so intuitive.

Another thing, kids spend most of their time in front of the computer/phone so they have had more training than the older ones when it comes to using these things. Older people tend to just live in the moment and have fun with their grand kids.

Yep since kods nowadays are exposed early with gadgets, technology and they tend to develop an understanding regarding this which adults would not expect and as we know they can easily fetch some answers or technicals they have encountered by just simply searching it especially teenagers who are in the right age to be able to comprehend how the system of Bitcoin works and is more in the right age and easy to be teached rather than children. You shouldn't underestimate young folks of today.  Wink

Explaining bitcoin to children will be hard because you don't know if they are interested or not and if they will pay attention to you when you are explaining and the children are not that techie people because they like socializing and not tech gadgets so it will be impossible to explain bitcoin to children.

Probably need to be given an understanding of btc. But not all children are required to know what bitcoin is. Someday he will know by itself.

How, though? Not much in this world is known by almost everyone except for the fundamentals of survival such as making money, eating, having shelter, etc. Totally just basic necessary stuffs for human. Even if we assume the best case scenario which is bitcoin replacing fiat, I still don't think that kids will just come to the realization that they have to learn it. Kids have to be taught everything. Even fiat money that we have right now, kids wouldn't know how to use it unless an adult introduced it to them.

"not all children are required to know what bitcoin is" - I don't even know a single kid (or a single entity) who's required to understand bitcoin.

I think that many of you underestimate the teenagers or children.
Many of them probably know about Internet much more than you, including ideas how to earn on Internet.
Some of them probably already know about bitcoin.
I don't think that teenagers or children need a lot explanations about bitcoin, they will understand everything very quickly, don't worry about it Smiley
We just need to give them directions and answer their questions.
Soon, we will need their help to understand everything Smiley

is it necessary for them..?
I don't think that bitcoin is not a toy or anything which makes fun for the teenage. it should be used for investment or trading. but if they are interested in learning about it then you can help them. otherwise, it should be kept away from underage people.

As we seem the explanation of bitcoin is very difficult among children but it is not among teenagers.  because they need digital currency  in their future. hence, they get understand about different types of intenet base currencies so it won't be difficult to explain about bitcoin  among them.

I don't think that its a smart decision to introduce bitcoin to teenagers or children so early as its not time for them to start earning money in their childhood days and its a time for them to enjoy and things will become complicated for them if they are taught about bitcoins in early days.
