Sorry, I just had to comment on the post above (6 posts up) about the "magnificent simplicity of golf" -- I have to say, no I'm not coming to argue here about which sport is magnificently simply (I think football is simple, street anyway, kick the ball, put it in the goal duh) but the accompanying image was what really made me laugh. With the field being wide open many believed this is Serena’s best chance to earn her 24th Grand slam title. She has grinded her way to another semifinal is joined by an American Jennifer Brady that is coming into her own and making her first semifinal, and two others that are familiar with deep runs in tournaments, The surging Victoria Azarenka and the solid young star in Naomi Osaka. It is anyone’s guess on who will make it to final. I’ll be making my preview and predictions below!

Brady vs Osaka Analysis and Prediction

H2H : 1 to 1 with both matches taking place on hard
Jennifer Brady has definitely taken advantage of the massive opportunity at this US open. She had a very good build up to this tournament winning her first career title on tour at WTA Lexington a few weeks ago winning in dominate fashion. Her US Open run so far has been even more impressive, winning every match in straight sets in good competition in Kerber, Putintseva, and Garcia. Her serve in particular has been very impressive and she has shown a very improved return game. She has looked to be in the best form of anyone in the tournament.
Naomi Osaka finds herself in a familiar position having won 2 grand slams already at the age of 22. She has had a bit of a bumpier road than Brady, having to win 2 of her matches in 3 sets. However, she has looked really strong in her last 2 matches, setting her up as a favorite to make it to her 3rd grand slam final. She is an aggressive baseline player with tremendous power on her serve and forehand. She has a strong mental game and has the willpower to grind through to another final.
Prediction: While Osaka is the definitely the better of player of the 2 in normal circumstances, Brady has looked absolutely tremendous so far this tournament. The prediction is Brady will continue with her amazing form and upset the former champion in 3 sets. Brady in 3 sets

Williams vs Azarenka Analysis and Prediction
20:15 - 10/09/20 - WTA: US Open, New York, USA
#8 WTA ranked Serena Williams vs #27 Victoria Azarenka
H2H 18-4 in favor of Serena
Serena Williams is looking to seize here best chance at winning her 24th grand slam. Since she has returned from her pregnancy in 2018, she has made it to 4 finals losing them all. She is running out of chances, and will be putting all her effort into this campaign. While she was the favorite in the tournament, she has faced a lot of adversity to make it this far. While she won her first 2 matches in straight sets, the last 3 have been extremely difficult winning in 3 sets. She has had to grind more than usual but has definitely shown her championship grit.
Victoria Azarenka has looked tremendous the last few weeks. Leading up to the US open, she was able to win ATP Cincinnati in excellent form. She has continued it in the US open and other than Brady, she has looked like the best player in tournament in my opinion. She has a wealth of experience making it to 4 grand slam finals, winning 2 of them. While her record against Serena is 4-18, she has had some incredible matches against Williams and has been extremely competitive. She is just 31 compared to Serena’s 38 so it will be interesting to see how fatigue will play in this matchup.
Prediction: While Serena has definitely had the better of this matchup in the past, Azarenka has looked like the superior player in this tournament. The prediction is Azarenka to win in straight sets.

It should be excellent tennis, and I personally am extremely excited for the matches. I’ll be previewing the ATP semis and giving my prediction on who will win the semifinals.

Zverev vs Busta Analysis and Prediction

#7 ATP Ranking Alexander Zverev vs #27 ATP Ranking Pablo Carreno Busta
H2H – Zverev has won both matchups on hardcourts (1 being an exhibition)
#7 Zverev has been nipping on the heels of the Big 3 for the last few years. The 23 year old’s big breakthrough came in 2017 where he won 5 titles and finished the year ranked #4. He was able to back up that breakthrough year in 2018, winning 4 titles, including the ATP Finals in London, again finishing ranked #4. His 2019 was a little bit more of a struggle but he still finished #7 with 1 title. Despite all his success on tour, the one big critique you could make on Zverev was his struggles in Grandslams. Despite his high ranking and favorable draws, before 2020, the furthest he made it in a grand slam was a QF. With Djokovic eliminated, this is by far his best chance at breaking through with his maiden Grand Slam title. He has had a very good US open so far showing mental strength to overcome a set deficit in 2 matches. He is an aggressive baseliner with powerful strokes and a very good first serve. His second serve tends to let him down and he has a lot of double faults. His return game is very solid for his height, putting a lot of pressure on his opponents.
#27 Pablo Carreno Busta has taken a much different path than Zverev. The 29 year old has been grinding on tour since 2011. His big breakthrough came in 2013 on the ITF/challenger circuit where he was able to win 10 titles. Since his big breakthrough in 2013, he has been a solid tour player, finishing in the top 30 since 2016. In 2017, he was able to make a huge leap and made the semifinals at the US open. He is hoping to build off the experience gained there and this time take it a step further in the finals. He has had a much more troubling road to the semis, having to win two 5 set matches. He is the definition of a grinder and will definitely make his opponent earn every point. He is a very good returner and will definitely make Zverev work.
Prediction: Zverev will be too much for Carreno Busta, due to his power and return ability. Zverev will win 3 sets to 1.

Thiem vs Medvedev Analysis and Prediction
16:00 - 11/09/20 - ATP: US Open, New York, USA
#3 Dominic Thiem vs #5 Daniil Medvedev
H2H- Thiem leads 2-1 (1-1 on hard court) 1-0 on clay
#3 Thiem has really proved himself these last 3 years as the most likely guy outside of the big 3 to win a grandslam. He has made the final in the last 2 French opens, losing to Nadal on both occasions. While Thiem has always had success on clay courts, he has really begun to show himself extremely well on hard courts. In 2019, he was able to win 3 titles on hardcourts, including his maiden Masters title at Indian wells. He parlayed that success into 2020 at the Australian Open where he made it to the finals and nearly unseated Djokovic before losing in a tight 5 setter. With Djokovic eliminated, this is by far his best chance at a Grand Slam. Thiem is an aggressive baseliner with very good defensive skills. He has a very good forehand and backhand, and has very few weaknesses.
#5 Medvedev has had a tremendous rise in the last 3 years, punctuated by a top 5 ranking at the end of 2019. He has won 7 titles, all on hard, with 2 master’s title. His biggest achievement however was in last year’s US open making it all the way to the final vs Nadal. He showed tremendous mental resolve in that match after losing the first 2 sets, he was able to win the next 2, forcing a 5th set. However, he fell short in the final set. He will be looking to go a step further this year and win his first grand slam. Medvedev is a tall baseliner with extremely good movement for his height (6’6). He has very good strokes and is an excellent defender.
Prediction – This match could end up being an all-time classic. I just feel that this is Thiem’s time to finally breakthrough and he will pull it out in 4 sets.

One of the most interesting ways to bet on the EPL (and the cheapest) is, you guessed it, betting the outright of your favorite club. It's a kind of betting market where you can place a wager on an outcome of a club's entire season in the league. So if you're a real football fan who wants to drop some action while rooting for your favorite club, the outrights are for you.

Premier League Futures Bets
For this season's outright title contenders, I think it's going to be Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and maybe Arsenal and Tottenham. The usual suspects, unless we see another Leicester City moment again (unlikely, but all lines are always available for all the clubs).

Let's start with 2019-20 champions, Liverpool – 3.10: Many of you might ask 'why are they the underdogs to win if they won the league by around 20 points last year?'.

Here's the thing, only a few EPL clubs win the league back to back. And with Liverpool, you have a squad that might not be able to match the same intensity they did last year. Their squad is getting older, with no fresh faces to change things in case they get in a bit of a rut.

But that doesn't mean they don't have a chance. They do.

Let's move to 2019-20 runner up, Manchester City – 1.70: At the current line, it looks like it has no value. They were priced around the same last year. But I think it's justified (kind of). They still have the best squad even though they look iffy at the back at times and still has arguably the best manager to guide them to a title. They'll surely come back more ambitious and likely try to dominate. They signed Nathan Ake to bring some stability at the back which could be enough for the level of competition in the EPL.

Next is Chelsea – 11.75: With their ban for two transfer windows and the sale of Hazard, the club has accumulated a huge warchest for player acquisitions. And the signing to watch is Timo Werner. Will he be another Torres remains to be seen. But with his style of play and the pace, I don't think so. He could be in the running for the Golden Boot.

They have the squad to win the title, but the manager. Lampard has yet to have the qualities of a Guardiola or a Klopp to take Chelsea to the next level.

To complete the top 4, we have Manchester United – 14.75: Like Chelsea, they have a good squad. Maybe even a title winning squad. But again the manager. Solksjaer's inexperience will definitlely be an issue. Top 4 could even be taken away from them by someone with a lot of experience at the top level like Mourinho.

Then there's Arsenal – 39.00 and Tottenham – 52.00. Both could very well complete the top 6 of the EPL table and between the two Arsenal has settled nicely under their current manager, Mikel Arteta. They won the FA Cup vs Chelsea and beat Liverpool to win 2020/21's Community Shield. I expect good things.

As for Tottenham, well they have a world class manager in Mourinho. But gone are the player acquisition mega deals that he's known for. And in football, it takes money to win titles.

Prediction: Manchester City to win the Premier League. They're simply the best club in the league.

Value bet: Liverpool. You can never really count them out year in, year out under Klopp.

Dark horse: Chelsea. Lampard was rumored to be the real architect behind their 2011/12 Champion's League title win. Maybe with that squad and a little bit of luck, he can guide Cheslea to the top.

Long shot: Arsenal. Leicester City did it with less, why not Arsenal? And they had enough to beat the top sides last season. Expect them to build on that and upset some top sides again this season.

Prediction based contests are always the most popular, I've seen others do it and they get a LOT of participation but I understand also for the book, you want wagering also, otherwise no growth and no traction!

So have a prediction type contest, BUT to minimise a lot of spammers and fake accounts, WHILE also getting some volume from the competition, think about a mechanism that asks people to actually bet. This can either be charging users a nominal amount just for a chance to play OR giving players more entries for every amount wagered. E.g. Pay 0.1 mbtc to participate, or win 1 entry for every 1 mbtc bet on certain markets.

Alternatively, don't associate an entry fee but use something like your parlay contest but have like a whole campaign lasting maybe over 30 days. With last man standing to win a prize pool. Give people a week to sign up, and then once it starts, every day, to remain in the race, you must BET a certain amount AND WIN a certain amount, to progress to the next day.

e.g. Bet live or pre-match single or parlay a total of 2 mbtc a day. MUST also win 0.5 mbtc a day. After 30 days, all remaining players share a prize.

We are kicking off the American football promo this week, but are definitely interested in getting a football (soccer) contest going in the coming months. Do you have any suggestions?

My native language unfortunately I only speak, but cannot read and write:( And English is the one that I use for work so it's fine:) Something I'm rather embarassed about but I will blame my parents;)

Football people are always talking about which is the best player in their team and who is GOAT and all that. I like the ideas above already, and we see a lot of contests for EPL, I'd love a La Liga version of some of the popular formats and maybe something easy for everyone to do but agree, make it paid like your NFL promo which I don't play as don't understand.

We agree that the parlay promo was a player favorite and have updated it previously, based on player feedback. We will definitely try and get that one back in 2021, with some updated rules.

Aye, I saw NFL and that's pretty much the sort of contest that'll attract the boys and girls -- sadly, don't know much about the game (more accurately, know nothing of it).

Looking forward to the parlay promo, that was really fun, but probably a bit too skewed towards people who spend all their lives on the platform.

And OMG Dice! I'll let you know when I get down and dirty on my next sesh;)

The contest looks great with 2mbtc bet as an entrance fee and the prizes ranging from 20-50 mbtc every week. Is there a rollover on the prizes or they're free to withdraw?
The only thing that's missing from the contest is the leaderboard.

Great idea including La Liga.  We would like to do something that could include them, as well as EPL and Bundesliga.

Perhaps we could do a parlay promo which highlights the largest European leagues. We will continue discussing and creating, but the best ideas come from the players, so please keep the feedback coming!
