There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Apparently not worth it for any AMD type of GPUs with the current miner.

Basically a CPU is faster than most of the AMD GPUs.

RX 470 gets like 200-250KH/s which is same as an i5 CPU.

While an old GTX 960 gets 500KH/s

Could you please so kind to do it once again this way:

Do the snapshot as follows:
Close the client
copy blocks and chaindata, database and peers.dat that would be a fix.
I had this similar behavior on bitcoin..but not that much of wear level to an drive this is really insane.

No idea if this will reduce botnets since there are many i3 and i5 cpus out there which perform reasonable pretty fast compared to GPUs.

Not on NVIDIA..
Here it performs very good.

Pointless to release GPU algorithm when the miner isnt optimized at all. Will only lead to instamining by those who do have access to an optimized miner, just like Zcash.

HAve also to create new wallet the old one got destroyed by the client.. which crappy codebase the dev took to make this built? Seriously these are old bitcoin-core issues.

Thanks for the upload but the wallet seems to have serious issue with this:
After this debug entry this wallet dies..crap crap crap..dev failed!

Should be much more if you are bench-marking the new cpuminer for the 20500 fork

If you are talking the old miner, then those numbers sound about right

I downloaded the latest wallet release and needed to re-sync the wallet.  Seems to be stuck at 670 block height, anyone else experiencing this, and how did you resolve it?

I have deleted the appadata\Roaming\Zcoin folder multiple times to try and get beyond block 670

Running windows 10 pro 64-bit with release v0.2.0 qt wallet for windows
