"The Embedded Radeon E9550, which is the new top-performance card in AMD’s embedded lineup. Based on AMD’s Polaris 10 GPU, this is essentially an embedded version of the consumer Radeon RX 480, offering the same number of SPs at roughly the same clockspeed. The E9550 is offered in a single design, an MXM Type-B card that’s rated for 95W."

Neat project I have to say. I'll be keeping my eye on this one once we get the first independent U.S. side review from a trusted member like Philipma or Sidehack etc.

Philipma and Sidehack have been members for a long time and have tons of Green Trust - that is the difference.

Sending a board to philipma1957 would actually be a really good way to promote your product.
Anyone who has frequented the mining section of this forum would see pretty quickly that he is trusted and knows a lot about mining.
If you can get prove to him that you are shipping a decent product, you will get some purchases from other members for sure.

He has zero interest in sending one to me even if I pay him upfront via PayPal. As if I would run away and hide.

 Grin
I no longer want to test the gear as it is pretty obvious he has zero interest in sending one to me.

At this point I am done with this thread.

Too bad looked like good gear if it was available.

As I understand this company  they are directly connected with Lightening Asic and made a lot of gridseed orbs back in the day. They also really fucked a big reseller in Australia   you would need to look at
The further you stay away from them the better off you are.  I think they did you a favor by not sending the gear to you.  I also think you are smart to have abandoned the thread.

I thought this was it .
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615985.0

But I think this is the thread.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=436031.0

this was a disaster.

I could be wrong  but I think this seller's company  was directly involved.

Most likely  they did not want to send the gear to philipma  because :

1) he would have told the truth about it
2) or they simply want to hold everyones money  and ship slowly

I have spoke to Jack from Lightning ASIC on many occasions and will get in touch with him directly to see if they are involved.  As recently as 2 weeks ago I spoke to him about a different project

So it's the same internal board with laptop rx 480s? Can you give some information about those that designed the board? The 'StarMiner gpu switch 1.3'? Would be interested in learning about how it was designed and the architecture behind it.

YES, motherboard with 8 RX480 runs windows 10, sorry we can not tell you how to design, some kind of business secret.  maybe soon there will be some videos about it.
or you can check www.pandaminer.com

oh, it is exactly our miner. but we only sell on our website, we have no other  agency, please be careful.
it is a rather known asic reseller in russia, and it's already receiving orders for the miner
the miner is already in hands and undertaking some tests...

thank you so much, we already contact with them , they are our agency now and have right to sell our miners.

Someone already got that miner? Or are there any restrictions on delivery countries?

there is one miner tested in Russia, no restrictions on delivery countries, but delivery is expected at the end of December.

the reason why we can not send to philipma is just simple , we can only accept Bitcoins from abroad, no foreign account. we just don't want to make our payment complex!
Be aim at the customers we cooperate with in the first time, we require payment before delivery in order to reduce the risks to a minimum.

"we require payment before delivery in order to reduce the risks to a minimum"

for this ...

I would say we need a prove before any of us going to send any BTC payment to a unknown company in china in order to reduce the risks to a minimum !!!  Grin

And if you are a business person you should need to know this . You can take a risk for 2000$ as a company , but many ppl here in this forum can not afford to lose 2000$ !!! but probably a hundred of them can afford to pay 2000$ for a legit product !!!

Send your miner to philipma1957 or anyone else who we can trust in this forum.
Let us to pay with paypal at least for a very few first order ... that give us some kind of safety feelings Wink and build trust ... You dont need any kind of international or foregin account with paypal , only thing you need is a paypal account , and if paypal payment is to " complex payment" for you for a very few first order ,then you should not be in any kind of business at all !!!

I would probably pay the price for your miner via paypal , or any escort service , but not with BTC on the first time , not for the very first order !!!

You should consider all this !!!

The problem with these types of "start-up" mining manufacturing companies is that they basically have no capital. So the only way they can produce these miners at mass quantity is for large amounts of capital, which they don't have.

So its the same story as always. They only accept BTC, and with enough orders they can order parts from suppliers, and then they build the miners which can take months. However like in the past... in 6 months ZEC/ETH might not be profitable at all OR when they finally build these miners in 3 months... they will mine with them for 3 months and ship them 3 months after that ... like it was in the past with many Bitcoin ASICs.

So Philipma might get some demo unit next month but they can't accept any more Paypal payments only Bitcoin and telling when those actually units ships is anybodies guess.

It would be interesting to know when someone will get first device. Only then can you make purchase decision.
Only I would like to hear from buyer is not for sale.

and then they build the miners which can take months...OR when they finally build these miners in 3 months... they will mine with them for 3 months and ship them 3 months after that ... like it was in the past with many Bitcoin ASICs.

Well, to be fair, in this instance these are not ASICs requiring special chip fabrication processes and capable of minings super-efficiently, which leads to manufacturers 'testing' them for extended periods when they are ready for shipping.

It appears these are a bunch of GPUs slotted in to a ready-to-run motherboard config, which means the only obstacle is ensuring that the OP isn't simply a blatant scammer who isn't going to deliver at all. Shipping a complete unit to a trusted member so they can verify the device runs as well as they claim should negate most people's concerns here.

As for paypal being an issue, they could actually avoid that problem simply by being willing to take escrow btc payments which are released when the buyer receives the goods and all is in order. Unless they are a two-man outfit desperate for funds they should be able to defer receiving the bitcoin until their customer is happy with what they've sent them and an escrowed payment would mean both sides should feel secure enough in the transaction.
