My withdrawal from this exchange worth 4BTC in altcoin was still pending for 4 days. The support ticket is still unanswered for almost 3 days since the day I file it. ERC20 token takes only 2mins-1hr to confirm the transaction, I do also some research on their different social media account and I found out that there is so many users that have pending withdrawal for a long time. Please avoid now this exchange.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. Hybrid server-assisted clients like Electrum get a lot of their network information from centralized servers, but they also check the server's results using blockchain header data. This is perhaps somewhat more secure than either server-assisted clients or header-only clients.

Security Reminders - What to watch out for

#1. Phishing Websites

Phishing is a common technique for acquiring a user’s personal or account data. Scammers set up fake websites that resemble reputable business sites in order to get you to enter your account or personal information.

The site may look very legitimate (and often look almost identical to official websites) but they will always have a slightly different domain name/URL. Before entering any of your personal details into the website, ensure you've reviewed the below:
What should I look out for?

a. Every time you log into your account, we recommend checking that you're visiting the correct URL, https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/.
PLEASE NOTE: Be aware of URLs that end in .com, .ws, .cx

b. Check the Site Certificate is for “Crytopia Limited [NZ]”

c. When typing Cryptopia into a Search Engine like Google or any link sent to you from an external source or website, please check the URL is legitimate.

d. When clicking on Google Ads, ensure that you check the URL is legitimate as phishing sites have been known to place fake advertisements.

e. When clicking on any email that looks like it has been legitimately sent from Cryptopia, check the SEND address. Scammers often send emails with links that look real but actually redirect you to a fake site. See point #5 below for further information on Spoof Emails.

#2. Fake Applications (Apps) on Google Play and Apple Store

Currently Cryptopia does not have a mobile app. Never download any app from any app store.

WARNING: some apps seem extremely convincing and professional but please do not download or input any personal information into a third party application.

#3. Fake support numbers

Some sites have been known to list a 'support' number for Cryptopia. These numbers are not legitimate support numbers as we do not currently offer support via phone. Scammers regularly set up these numbers and when users phone, they are hoping to obtain your personal account details, so they can access your account.

What should I look out for?
•   Never phone any number that claims to offer Cryptopia support
•   Never disclose any of your personal information to a support person over the phone who claims to be a member of the Cryptopia support team

#4. Phone call from 'Cryptopia'

Be aware that no Cryptopia support staff will ever contact you via the phone. If you receive a call from someone claiming to work for Cryptopia support, we recommend you hang up straight away and block the caller from your device.

What should I look out for?

•   Never give your personal details to anyone (especially if they have phoned you and claim to be from Cryptopia support)
•   Cryptopia support will only ever send emails from addresses ending with @cryptopia.co.nz (watch out for sneaky typos like cryptopja.co.nz)
•   Cryptopia support will never ask for your password or your two factor authentication code
•   Cryptopia will never request that you grant us remote access to your computer

#5. Text/SMS from 'Cryptopia'
Be aware that Cryptopia will never contact you via text/SMS. Never click on any link sent to you via text claiming to be from Cryptopia. Block sender/contact and do not reply.

#6. Spoof emails

Please be aware that we have had reports of fake emails being sent out to users.

PLEASE NOTE the following:
•   Cryptopia will never ask for a payment that does not go through Paytopia
•   Cryptopia will never ask you to send payment to a specific address
•   Cryptopia staff will never ask you for your password or two factor authentication details

If you believe you may have entered your login details to an insecure source, please change your password and Two Factor Authentication.
If you find a website, app, phone number, or user claiming to be Cryptopia or Cryptopia Support and you are concerned, please report it to us by email, Facebook or Twitter.

Hi.We applied for listing Pure on cryptopia on 9th january. Its been 1 month and our coin is still not listed on exchange despite paying 250k usd at that time.Kindly list PURE asap as our community is eagerly waiting.I hope you will list pure soon. Thanks

You paid Cryptopia $250k USD to list a coin? Wow, the stakes sure have changed.
I was also surprised. maybe its pure scam coin, so it needs big marketing budget..

IMO good coins really dont need to pay exchanges for listing and have hefty marketing budgets; if they are really that good, innovative and demanded, people would use them and exchanges would line up to list such coin on their platforms..

hmm... investing $250k in Cryptopia listing OR marketing? I think $250k budget for marketing would be hefty.

$250k in BTC or in PURE coin/token? it's very big amount of money to spend just to get a coin listed
wasn't there like an agreement before you pay them that much money?
and are you sure paying the official cryptopia owner? post some proofs to get some attentions
alternatively you might want to start open letter thread or scam accusation thread

25 BTC? Ouch.

Hopefully you can recover some of that, although I expect you're going to make a fairly big loss. The DOT market cannot really support the massive purchases needed to pay for listing. To buy a large amount at market rate causes serious slippage.

Cryptopia where's my coins?  10 days for a stuck transaction.  No support no help no coins.  My coins are still in cryptopia and you owe me my coins.  instead of trying to find scammers you should stop scamming other people's coins.

They might be trying to exit scam like bitconnect, mt gox.

They've closed down LTC and DOGE coin trading.  They're shutting down NZ deposit because the bank is closing down Cryptopia's account.  Coins are getting stuck left and right.  people's money is missing.  No support and no coins!

Not to mention phishing PM's and Cryptopia posting stuff like scams in their website.  You know who did that?  Coinsmarket.com..  Coinsmarket still has people's coins and hasn't opened their website for 2 months.

Support is non existent.

These small exchanges are prone to be scams. Cryptopia owe me $5000.

I heard that contacting the New Zealand Commerce Commission could help light a fire under Cryptopia. If you would like to help, please also send them an email.

Here is the body of the message I've sent to contact@comcom.govt.nz:
Quote
Greetings New Zealand Commerce Commission,

I am writing you today regarding Cryptopia / cryptopia.co.nz , a New Zealand business.

Said company is a cryptocurrency exchange. Part of the function of a cryptocurrency exchange is to temporarily act as a custodian of customer funds in the form of cryptocurrency, while the customer is trading those funds and until the customer requests to withdraw those funds.

Cryptopia, however, has disabled the ability of many customers to withdraw certain types of cryptocurrency without a reasonable explanation as to why, and without a reasonable effort to restore the critical withdrawal function. In my case, I've been waiting 2 months already, and in another 2 weeks a dividend payment to which I am entitled will be paid to Cryptopia.

This situation has led some to suggest that Cryptopia is purposely scamming customers, that they are insolvent, or that they will soon cease operations and run away with customer funds.

Please see the following page for information about the specific cryptocurrency of which Cryptopia has dispossessed me.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2948513

I strongly suggest that the Commission looks into this matter towards resolution before it spirals out of control and brings a cascade of bad press to New Zealand.

Kind Regards,

Feel free to use any portions of this in your own email.

what's the reason for closing down LTC and DOGE? why were they suspended at the first place?
where is this news officially posted on the site? I can't find it... can anyone give me link?

They actually didn't provide any concrete reason behind their actions. I've dug through their forums, tweets and news page but can't see any notice or explanation on why they closed down their LTC and DOGE market. It is in my understanding that they deliberately didn't provide any information because it's been closed for some time now and they always have the time to make an announcement for it.

Currently, I'm staying away from their exchange. They've been a good exchange so far but right now, I can't trust them to handle any of my trades. Will definitely check them from time to time for any progress.

You can read updates on Cryptopia's Twitter account & on Cryptopia's site under News/Information Section.

When you look a little closer you'll see that the closure of the LTC Base Market is temporary. Cryptopia is working on a solution and creating a sister site for LTC markets.

Here's the post published by one of the founders of Cryptopia: Hex @ 1/11/2018 12:11:38 AM

Further Updates On LTC Basemarkets
I understand that while this may not be the update many people want to hear, it at least will hopefully provide everyone with a clear understanding of the path forward.

Cryptopia will be standing up new sister sites such as ltc.cryptopia.co.nz to handle base markets dedicated to LTC on their own trade engine and database to allow them to continue to trade, and allowing cryptopia.co.nz to resume registrations.

You will still need to transfer funds between the different sites to trade on each of them but this will be able to be handled instantly by Cryptopia in the background with atomic swaps, so you'll still have the single Cryptopia account that you use on the different exchanges.

As such, we will be permanently closing the LTC basemarkets on cryptopia.co.nz

Users will have a month to cancel their open orders after which point the markets will be closed and your orders will be cancelled for you.

Further updates on the timeline for the new LTC exchange will be posted as they become available.

Dear Cryptopia and Lafu.

I withdraw and confirmed it almost half a day ago:
№3155771 ZEC 0.37070744 t1VtPYE1EZnDUevKNqurGE4UCREgfZHknAv.

But the status is "Pending", Tx is not.

I know and I see that the enrollment of coins for an account takes a long time, in the last month they have stretched from 2 to 24 hours.
Earlier somehow the problem itself was solved, without support. But I decided to write here.

Sorry for my bad English and hello from Russia.

P.s. on small stocks.exchange on the stock exchange the same problems - inputs / outputs occur on a day  Grin

I observe - as soon as the bitcoin rate moves up and down very fast and downwards, then the problems with the time of enrollments and withdrawal
