Support stopped responding altogether. Just passes the notice of the closure of the ticket. And that's all. For more than 10 days I can not give an answer. The account is still frozen. Direct contacts to the administration do not give.

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

That sounds terrible. Sorry to sound skeptical but from your post history it is a newbie account exclusively posting on this thread claiming that they froze 27 BTC.

I'd believe it if you posted the transaction from the block explorer here. Am I right in believing that this isn't your only account on bitcointalk ?

I do not want to disclose this transaction publicly. Because I can violate the rules on non-disclosure.

Cryptopia itself does not deny intsindent. Lafo can confirm.

It is fine for you to disclose it .The Privacy Act only applies to the Company providing the service - not the customer.

I would like to draw everyone's attention to a problem going on with LUXCoin wallet on Cryptopia. The chain is currently almost 13 hrs behind, deposits are delayed accordingly. This situation has been going on for a few weeks already. Fist, the wallet was in maintenance for almost a week, now the wallet is lagging. What is the problem with this? Cryptopia is the top volume exchange for LUX, why can't Cryptopia people afford to buy a decent SSD drive to sync the chain properly? Why is it even a problem? Current block height on Cryptopia is 446239, whereas actual current block is 446808.

Most of the time the cause of the lagging is due to people ignoring the warning "do not mine directly to your exchange address". It cause a large amount of dust to be generated and slows down transactions for everyone else. Then they have to put it into maintenance and dust the wallet. Which then takes a long time because of the large amount of dust.

The other reason is that Cryptopia is a busy exchange. Due to a lot of low value coins it does not have a large value of turnover but a huge amount of transaction turnover. While some large traders might transfer a single large amount to an exchange - Cryptopia has a lot of lower value traders. This shows disproportionately in the statistics. While they rank lower in the value of turnover - they rank quite high in the site ranking based on page views. Their wallets get a large volume of use.

Some wallets also don't work particularly well on an enterprise scale. Your typical private wallet contains a dozen private keys. An exchange wallet contain tens / hundreds of thousands of private keys. Wallet code is developed by the coin developers. Not Cryptopia.

Thanks for your explanation. Can you explain why exactly payment from mining pools cause much dust compared to transactions sent from private wallets? Will it help Cryptopia if miners raise payment threshold on a mining pool?

My question was, why *exactly* pool payments cause a large amount of small transactions as compared to payments sent from a wallet?
The article only explains the concept of dust, which I already know.

My question was, why *exactly* pool payments cause a large amount of small transactions as compared to payments sent from a wallet?
The article only explains the concept of dust, which I already know.

There are a number of reasons why pool payments are a problem and are discouraged - not just because of dust.

Pool payments are frequent. So rather than transferring it in one lump sum miners have a tendency to send small amounts on a frequent basis and use the exchange wallet for storage rather than trading. Causing more dust than necessary. Exchange wallets are not intended as savings accounts. They are there purely for trading on the exchange.

Some pools send mining reward payments for every block mined. This causes both dust problems and in some cases not being able to be recognized by the API.
Frequent tiny outputs to the same address.

Some pools send the transactions as automated multiple input & output transactions.
Sometimes multiple ouputs are sent separately to the same address in a single transaction. This causes issues for the API as it will not look for multiple outputs to the same address. The multiple inputs also cause more dust.

Mining pools can mine their own transactions which means that they can set a low fee and send "expensive" transactions comprising of lots of small inputs. Transactions fees are not based on value but by the amount of data the transaction comprises of. So multiple inputs of an amount cost more to send than a single input of the same value.

Pool payments are usually automated. On rare occasions exchange addresses change - in which case the transaction could be lost.

Thank you VERY much Lafu.
5 days with no answer and within 2 hours of your reply I have one.
Not one I wanted and not one I am happy with at all, but its a reply at least

My apologies, it seems your ticket got somehow lost in the system. Unfortunately there may be a wait til Monday before your withdrawal can be cancelled. I am sorry about that, and we really appreciate your patience. Kind regards, Louis

So let me get this straight, another 2-3 days of waiting to even cancel the withdrawal?Huh??
My ticket was "lost"HuhHuh

Who's running this place, Mickey Fricken Mouse?HuhHuh?
Only one person can do cancellations and he doesn't work weekends?

Over 1 week and I might, stress the word might, get my coins from what should have been a 5 minute transaction?Huh?
