On their Website: "OUT of STOCK. Shipping Starts August 23"
They are a bit overwhelmed with all the orders atm. I got mine 2 days ago, I am sure you will get answer & shipment info from canaan soon.

I placed my order on sunday the 7th  my bad luck was I placed it before the price raise.

so it was only 764  they simply  refused to bill me  and sold it to someone for 794  once price went up.

The hard part for me is   I did 2 or 3 group buys for them selling more then 45 units.  Making 0 money on the deal.

and they simply ignore my request for the btc bill for days on end.

So basically  it shows me they don't give a fuck  for me  and I not that little  In that  all told I have done more then 50 units and over 75000 usd in business with them.

I would have preferred a simple we raised the price and don't want to give you the lower price.  Instead ignored.

Oh well  I do  have  a rasp pi 3 I am going to build much nicer then their unit and I will make a thread on how you can build

one yourself.

Back to gpus.  I got 2 today and now I am running 15x 1080 ti's

thats indeed not very nice. I told them to cancel my 10 x 741 and i will take my business elsewhere (not that they care)

Thanks  Steve.

I am sure there are a ton of questions.  Rather than address them all individually I'll just say if you have an issue write to me
   at steve@canaan.io

   Now to some the issues:

Prices:  The Price of the 741  is tied to the spot market price in China. For a long time I have held the price artifically low
to the Rest of the world. Consider it doing my part to try to decentralize miner power.  What I've done to
help somewhat in this situation is to have free shipping.  For example:  Prior to the price move a single unit
sent to the USA from Hong Kong  would  be $714  plus fedex shipping  of  $127.  Now, its 798  with free shipping.
This tends to advantage folks who buy a single system  which is about 60 percent of all orders.

If you ordered before:  If you have bought before at $714,  just send me a note  about that and I will See if I can switch
   you to  $714  plus shipping.

Delays:   The surge in BTC prices have basically flooded us  ( Me and Lily and jasmine)  to the point that we cannot work through  all the tickets. There are about 500 tickets waiting to be processed. Over 150 of those were customers ordering
small quantities ( 1 or 2 )  We are plowing through them as best and as fast as possible.

Stock:  a couple days ago  as I jumped in to help with BTC address, it became clear  that there were more people in line
to get an address to send to than there were machines..  So there will be short pause before we can resume shipping.

We dont want to give you a BTC quote  today  and then have it change a few days from now when you can actually get
    a shipping product.

We usually honor the BTC quote for a couple days.  Tommorrow is Friday in Beijing  so I'll discuss how we can dig our selves out of this hole  ( so many tickets to handle)  with the team.  For now, they just assign the tickets to me.

If you feel particularly pissed off,  just email me directly ( steve@canaan.io) or you can call me ( I cant promise to pick up,
but i usually will for US  numbers )

761?   Well, there may be a 761  I am still looking at the numbers. basically I need a big enough customer to justify
the launch.  (  yes its 6 hash boards  and improves hash rate )   integrated PSU as well.

I head back to Beijing in a few days,  so please take that into consideration if you call my personal phone.

Well I'm guessing Canaan isn't going to be responding to, nor updating, my payment ticket. Eight days has past since getting the scripted statement about "Lily will handle this issue."
I have always thought of Canaan as decent and reliable seller, this is a huge letdown  Angry

Same for me...they just stopped responding to me all together  Roll Eyes Sad...so sad

they are sold out according to the website, my best guess is that there are people with open orders like you but no stock anymore

  ya,
the team got pretty far behind on processing orders so I jumped in to try to help. never ask the VP to do
    any real work.

As we were plowing through all the open orders  a few larger orders got processed and we went from
  having enough to having zero.

I am shipping more to Hong Kong.

To clear  things up for folks.  I run global sales for outside of China.  My main focus is on larger customers. Any customer that orders more than 50 units. These orders are shipped directly from Beijing where I've just opened a new warehouse.

Smaller orders (<50 units ) are shipped from Hong kong Today.  So,  At the start of every month I have to forecast how
many Miners to send to Hong Kong.  This Month  with BTC skyrocketing,  I was obviously wrong in my forecast, so we stocked
   out in Hong Kong.

Given the way small sales is going and increasing month over month, I have a few options.  Add more multilingual staff in Beijing or find partners in other parts of the world to operate as distributors.

Any way.  I'm sorry that we got so far behind.  I've jumped in to try to learn the ticket system and respond when I get time away from handling the larger customers. If you want to email me,; steve@canaan.io .  if you are really pissed call me

personal phone number is 408 313 9284.

I'm California time  ( dont know why the tickets are saying florida ).  I get tons of calls all hours  of the day, I try to pick up as many as I can,  but email does work best

44C is the inflow temperature
100C is the outflow temperature

Any incoming group buy for this ? I'm interesed.

I made offers to them in DEC of 2016 to do group buys for the 721  like I did for the model 6 about 15 months ago.  I was told they would handle   all sales from

Hong Kong/China  not from San Francisco  like I did for the model 6  So as far as I know  there will be no group buys. But basically I am fully out of the loop  maybe

you can email steve@canaan.io  and he will let you know.

I sent my request to get the single 741  that I ordered on August 6th.

I will post how it works out.

So how do you guys handle the large power pull required, if your running this 5 to 10 units from a residential address (I'm in the US).  Since I'm a noob around this, and say it needs roughly 5500 watts for 5 units, I would imagine you couldn't run all 5 from the outlets in one room?  I have two breaker panels, one at each end of the house, and I noticed I have one 30 amp breaker in each panel, but a boatload of 20 amp breakers.  Anyone help me out trying to understand how I might run this?

Thanks

you want to run a 30 amp 240 volt line.  needs 10 gauge wire.

1 outlet exactly like this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEMA-L6-30R-Turn-Twist-Lock-Locking-Receptacle-Outlet-30A-250V-2P-3W-L6-30-/162608545342?

this will allow for     12 plugs

http://www.ebay.com/itm/EMC-100-885-137-12-Outlet-PDU-Circuit-Breaker-200-240VAC-24AMP-100-885-138/331940002835?

you can do 4  maybe 5   avalon 741's

using this psu

http://www.parallelminer.com/product/hp-power-supply-kit-for-1-antminer-d3-dash-miners-94-platinum-high-efficiency-200-240v/

you may need to set at -1  if you want to do 5

you will need these power cords

http://www.ebay.com/itm/6ft-Male-Female-AC-Power-Extension-Cord-Cable-Wire-C13-to-C14-Black-SJT-14-3-/222140627218?

so about 5 + 60 + 35 + 500 =  600 in psu's and pdu  plus wire the 30 amp 240 volt circuit correctly
