When this thread was started in 2016 for sure far less people that now had heard about Bitcoin. Now it is in the news very often, so I guess many more people have heard at least the word "Bitcoin". But of course, 99% of them must have no clue on what it is.

Well not everyone but I am sure that there is a huge percent of people who already knows it,
Maybe around 3/5 or 60% of the population has already heard or know something about crypto currency or bitcoin.
I think that the people are really going to be interested in bitcoin or in the crypto currency once they know it.

We can say bitcoins traders or dealers are middle class and above who are tech savvy. In my country when someone knows you trade bitcoins ,he regard you as knowledgeable  because only few people can take the pains to understand bitcoins.

Every time I go to the bank I like to ask them if they have heard of BTC, most of the time the answer is no.
I do ask a lot of people about BTC.. a restaurant near me.. near ish use to accept it as well, I asked to pay with it, they said it no longer exists.. .... ...

Most people I find still have zero idea what BTC is unless they are friends with the likes of us.. I don't think we are even in early adoption stage.. we are in "the chasm" .. it would appear we are going to survive though... appear anyways..

I dunno just something I have taken note of.

Pretty much everyone that has heard of it assumes it's worth like 5 cents and shits themselves when I say it's $1k (Cad) .. we are in very interesting times with BTC.
We feel bitcoin is very popular because we live with people who already know bitcoin, without us knowing actually more people who do not know about bitcoin let alone doing transactions using bitcoin, other than that people who are able to run bitcoin are people who understand the Internet. So for parents it will be difficult to understand the bitcoin and how it works. So many people do not know about bitcoin, though they know for sure they only hear it at a glance without knowing what it really means.

I think it's still a lot of people who do not recognize the bitcoin. In where I live, people I know,  know the bitcoin only my younger brother. And I thought only about 30% even less people in this world who know about  bitcoin.

In our country, many people are not familiar with crypto currencies. Specially those people who're not really into learning technologies nowadays. Mostly elders are the ones who ignore this kind of topic unless they are well-informed about the issue of the country and unless if they're government officials. Some popular investors are also interested in cryptocurrencies, they even invest their money to bitcoin.

Unfortunately, they dont. I only heard about it from a far away friend.
In our classroom, i was inquiring about online jobs. Others were referring me to take paid surveys or paid translations, etc,., but only one mentioned bitcoin.

Bitcoin became more popular compared to the last few years. Although its popularity is not with the majority of the people. So the chances of finding someone by asking  random strangers about bitcoin is not really high. Maybe if you would ask from tech savvy people who spend much time on the Internet, the chances that they know would be higher.

I would say not everyone knows about it especially those people who are not so fond with computers or internet stuffs. But compared to before to today, i think the popularity of bitcoin at some point went up. More people are getting curious on how this cryptocurrency works and whats in it for them. I hope bitcoin gets more popular to get more people to invest.

Not everyone, none of my family members knows or heard anything about cryptos either, except for the fact that bitcoin or altcoins has some reasonable value. Those who knows much are the people who follows the news and browse the internet would have likely heard about cryptos. It's rare to see a new article about btc.

Their are some who don't know about Bitcoins. For example, those who barely use social media's and the elders. Those who are far from the city.

There are not many people who know bitcoin right now, as not many countries really accept it. Few people around me know how to make bitcoin investments or even know that bitcoin is a digital currency.

Not really, senior citizens who don’t have any social media accounts must have heard or rear about bitcoins but are too old to care about this high tech currency. The poorest of the poor in Third World Countries are too busy putting food on the table, if they had one, to care about another currency that is almost impossible for them to acquire.

Like in my society, most of the people are still not aware to what is bitcoin. Even my teachers and classmaters, they asking me about bitcoins and what is the purpose of the bitcoin. I am sharing all of my knowledge for them to become aware to what is bitcoin.
