Have read something in past few days about Litecoin

Litecoin has been around for a very long time and has shown success at keeping a healthy value to its cryptocurrencies. Also the largest Bitcoin wallet provider Coinbase has added the cryptocurrency to GDAX for trading. The longstanding trusted cryptocurrency has been a safe long term investment for quite a while now.Not to mentioned that they announce that on 28 this month it will go implementation for segwit maybe this will be last drop for LTC maybe not. I mean this coin may be back on ratio 25:1 compared to BTC, so it mat be that he comes back to 40 dollars again, maybe another golden era for ltc is in motion.

I'm thinking the same thing - if they pull off Segwit pretty well then I think LTC will be back up there again. Its held up better than other older coins like IXC and NMC

They're not seriously needing SegWit. They have the fastest transaction and there is no problem in their block. totally different with bitcoin. At least they do not need consensus for activating the SegWit. Cheesy
I wait for the result of Litecoin SegWit. If that's was the short hype has made by the litecoin dev.

Based on my experience of investing some altcoin in 2016, then I will not take the risk again by buying a lot of altcoin. Altcoin best option in 2017 are: Ethereum, Ripple and Dash. My reason is simple, because marketcap is great, so safer and prices could continue to rise.

1xc and NMC although old coin
but not popular coin, and volume transaction in trading is not big
if youre write 3 coin ltc 1xc and nmc
litecoin still above and the best , and safe your investment

Almost all altcoins seem to be performing very well today with the drop of BTC. If the trend continues it could be a pretty good day =)

to be honest in 2017 i am waiting for the coin of the year. because so far every year there has been an altcoin that is being pump and dumped real hard and there are lots of profit opportunities to take advantage of in these coins.
last year it was ethereum and this year i am looking forward to seeing what will replace it.

While XMR is always a safe bet I believe LTC may get some legs with Segwit so I'm grabbing some.

Coin 1: Bitcoin

Why:

- Heading towards mainstream adoption
- Lightning network in 2017
- Most advanced coin
- No IPO/ICO 100% fair distribution

Coin 2: Litecoin

Why:

- Development is moving at a very fast pace
- Might go up with bitcoin if it goes up
- No IPO/ICO 100% fair distribution
- Remains strong as ever after more than 5 years of operation

Coin 3: Peercoin

Why:

- Development has picked up a lot with projects such as peerassets, peerticker, V0.6 protocol update etc.
- Running for more than 4 years
- Oldest POS coin
- No IPO/ICO 100% fair distribution

Coin 4: Dogecoin

(Yes im serious) Grin

Why:

- Running for almost 3 years
- Strong community
- Gets people used to crypto
- Has some adoption as a tipping currency

Coin 5: Counterparty

Why:

- Running for almost 3 years
- Assets on bitcoin are booming as result counterparty value is rising
- Has real life utility with projects like foldingcoin giving counterparty value

Lol

Do your research man! Invest in Litecoin & Doge! Are you serious! What are Doge developing? what are they planning on introducting nobody has?  What's their long term plan?
People are now investing on actual product! Decentralised markets, cold staking, pegging, smart contracts etc etc

You seem clueless

BAY of course

Can anyone else's coin dev match this amount of innovation?

BitBay 2017 upcoming releases:

--POS3.0

--Voting system built into the UI client. We already have a working UI - Halo client.

--First wallet/client with locktimeverify parked coins - eventually used for rolling peg (UVP - User Value Protection protocol)

--Utilize bitmessage protocol for broadcasting transactions through random user's bitmessage chans - granting increased anonymity without blockchain bloat (not near as anonymous as others, but none the less, it does provide an added level of IP address masking).

--Finalize all user settings for the client's multisig trustless joint account design!
This will allow for BitBay to be the first wallet/client with cold staking technology - stake your wallet with 2 private keys on 2 computers rendering it virtually impossible to hack (joint account feature).

--David will complete the last 4 client templates:
-Buy/Sell Anything  - any items with price tracking technology
-Hire Someone - search for outsourcing employees
-Find Employment - search for outsourcing employers
-Barter/Trade - trustlessly trade apples for oranges with price tracking technology

--Implementation of rolling peg technology algorithm (UVP protocol) - mandatory percentage of user wallets are either proportionally frozen or liquified to provide price stability
The rolling peg will allow for futures markets to form on exchanges. Our goal is to provide day traders with a hedging tool that can out perform other systems like tethered USD, since BitBay is a rolling peg it will -still have fluctuations in price, so traders will have the ability for higher ROI through hedging compared to other pegged systems that remain constant!

--Implement custom python programmable smart contracts that won't bloat the blockchain - unlike ethereum. David Zimbeck discovered a way to utilize the miners to verify programs without bloat! Since it's not on the blockchain there is no need for fuel to protect from spammers.
________________________

You might be asking why would our price still be so low?
It's due to our ICO thievery, rather than revert the blockchain to obtain stolen coins, we remained true to a decentralized protocol (ether's scandal did not). Lin Han of Bter exchange (ICO host) has been purposely manipulating price for the last 2 years - dumping at random intervals to destroy investor confidence! We've been tracking his coins, he's nearly out. We can't track exchanges wallets, but we can track his personal wallet. Our best guess is that he's got less than 4-5 million coins left after you factor in exchange wallets!!
These are his last know wallets. Feel free to check the chain history although it would take a while as he purposely creates a new address after every transaction

BMEUZQUhrv2SuVwRBeNgsLqQDcaUb7ogeH
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/bay/block.dws?1018889.htm

You can even verify these wallets by buying a small amount Bay on Bter and withdrawing (although I don't recommend depositing anything on BTer ever!!)

Point being is that we are at the threshold of a mega pump! I'd speculated that 50 BTC in buy support is all that stands in the way of  BAY reaching over 500 satoshi - and possibly over 1000 sats!
When it reaches that level - we can finally put the power of proof of stake technology into good use and market this coin like no other!

Enjoy the fireworks!!

Altcoin actually producting somethin innovating! This really does sound like a low valued altcoin! 2017 will be the year for decentralised markets! Why have decentralised crypto if you don't have decentralised markets!?

Ethereum, maidsafe, stratis are my 3 choices, wish good gains from these 3 coins. They will go up a lot in next year, they are very long term projects, holding strongly means plenty of money.

I have picked Bitbay as a coin im investing heavliy in 2017. Trustless smart contracts. Cold staking (crypto 1st!) and a decentralised market alll about to be complete. Next it will be on a rolling peg (another crypto first)

All this development and only has a MK of under $1m.  I'm banking on this jumping into a tp30 coin Easy and a MK of over $10m. Ether hasn't achieve anything like this yet and they have $50m & a whole team of developers!

People will move to coins with actual working tech rather than funny meme pointless coins. . . Why invest in namecoin which has nothing going for it and has no development going on when you can invest in coins like bitbay, syscoin waves etc! You like hedge funds looking at investing billions of dollars in the close future will care about funny dogefaced coins? They only invest on product not promises!

Komodo is one of the most innovative and ambitious ideas that will create real demand.  It has base-level Zero Knowledge anonymity copied from Zcash.  It is also the first ever coin secured by Bitcoin's hashrate through a new consensus mechanism called Delayed-POW.

You can see the Komodo DPOW nodes, "notary nodes", writing KMD block hashes to the Bitcoin blockchain here:

http://blockchain.info/address/1P3rU1Nk1pmc2BiWC8dEy9bZa1ZbMp5jfg

There is also the first decentralized exchange that uses atomic swaps and provides good liquidity in the works.  The Komodo notary nodes will be functioning as order-matchers for this DEX, and some of the nodes will be connected to centralized exchange api in order to provide liquidity if needed.

Easydex provides good decentralized liquidity for KMD trading pairs, so people can access it's anon functions without a central exchange.

I think Decred has had cold staking for almost a year. And re: bitbay, waves, and syscoin, why would anyone want to buy these completely premined ICO ponzi tokens just to use a marketplace or smart contract? Openbazaar exists now, with shapeshift integrated, meaning you can use Bitcoin or most legitimate alts to shop on a marketplace that has, you know, actual products listed. And at this point it seems like no one is using smart contracts for anything, but they're coming for bitcoin on rootstock soon anyway.

Re: Komodo, just another jl777 ICO money grab scam, imo.

Re: Komodo, just another jl777 ICO money grab scam, imo.

Anyone that thinks the marketplaces in Bay, Sys, and Open Bazar is going to be an "ebay killer" is off their rockers. That's not gonna happen until the majority of people use crypto, and not even then, because ebay is likely to adapt. But that's not the point with these marketplaces. Although all of the above can find their niches as a marketplace, their importance is mostly as proof of concept. They are proof that decentralized markeplaces are possible. Their main function in the short/medium term is likely to be back-end, not front-end. Long term is yet to be determined, but I'd be surprised if we don't see this tech as one of the foundations for IOT amongst others.
All three of the above projects are pioners in this field, and are likely to get a first runner advantage. I still have BitBay as a favourite because it's the most decentralized project. Unlike Sys and Open Bazar it doesn't use escrow agents, but relies on double deposit escrow instead. Imo an escrow agent is a centralizing element and an obstacle to scaling. BitBay is also a broader tech because of it's smart contracts, and therefor easier to adapt to different use cases. As you might have guessed, I don't share your opinion on smart contracts. I believe they are just as important as the blockchain itself.

[/rant]

Edit: thx for the tip on decred cold staking. will look into it
