is it just me or do the chips just look like little black tiles with something printed on them?

I feel sorry for the next REAL company who comes along and has to jump through hoops to prove they are real. But sending product to be tested is the best start.

Why should they? Plenty of people are willing to bite to feed there BTC greed. The pre-order nonsense is allowed to happen because the community lets it happen.

Dear bitcointalk community,

we will try to answer all your questions.
Our office is in:
counry:lebanon
city:tripoli
street: kassem mourad
We can not offer phone support, we have a load of work to do, shipment is scheduled for 14th may.
After the shipment is done we will offer phone support.
We are hosting in iceland because of the connectivity and reliability which is not given in lebanon.
We have many electricity failures there, someone of you might know the problem.

Quote

regulated with extensions, our pcb has not the same width like our case

We will take photos from a other angle.

The last image with the phone (aside from being obscure) I take issue with.

The central capacitor by the 7th chip (row of 3, then row of 4, furthest to the right) has an area just to the left of it that looks stamped and cloned.

There are 3 metal prongs shown in the phone photo that are a mixture of smaller circuits in the photo above with the flash.

Fake.

Assuming they do have a working ASIC... pre-ordering with bitcoins only and no guarantee in the form of Paypal or credit card? At least CedarTec can offer the customer a ticket in a queue and pay via CC or paypal when the ASIC is ready to ship.

No guarantee, no business!

Dear bitcointalk community,

we have currently only one prototype for testing purposes, also the design is
not complete final, like you see the pcb is prepared for more.
You will be able to buy asics after we have finished the shipment
of all pre-orders.

People who needs more sureness are able to wait ~2 month to order
one of our asic.

Why do we only accept bitcoins on this way, is the most asked question.
We answered this question many times.
What we do in the pre-order stage is to look at our incoming orders and after
a payment is made the unit will be produced, so there is no way for us to accept
paypal or escrow service, we do not need the bitcoins after the production for your pre-order,
we need it before. After a payment is made, it becomes binding. No refunds.
But this is written before you made your order at the top.
We build by order, up to 1000 units.

You can order, think and wait 24 hours, before it expires. But we do not reserve order numbers,
this happens only after payment is made.

We got offers, some people want to pay the double amount of bitcoins to get the unit earlier,
but here we want to clarify:

Every unit has a fixed price of 999$
Every one can order up to 3 units, not more

With best regards,

Your CedarTec Team.
