Ok, I think I am ready to start tinkering with my 1080ti's
What sort of upper limit results have people seen with the 1080ti? Power and cooling is not an issue, so I'd like to push the cards as much as I can without destroying them.
So far I'm seeing +/- 1430 sol/s @ 49C -- stock settings.

New to mining with Nvidia but I have 1 1070 in a loan rig and when I access it with Chrome Remote Desktop I get pixelation and drop in hashrates. Anyone run into that issue? I have 2 more coming so I might try one of the others as the primary video to see if its just that card or not. It is a Refurb card so it could just be that one. When I had it with a RX 460, the 460 was the primary video and there was no issues so not sure if its a Nvidia thing or just the card.

If you have an integrated gpu on the CPU, maybe try with that?

@EWBF_ - what version of NVIDIA drivers are recommended by you?
Pretty much always the latest.

I would recommend a wired solution, wireless can cause quite a few issues. As far as the AC perhaps you can work out the amount of heat a card generates and work it back to what AC solution you would need. Luckily I have a basement in my rental house...if only I had 220v but the landlord would freak

Hey Miners,
Is anyone running a headless mining rig on Ubuntu with GTX 1080? I cannot get to overclock the card due to: ERROR: The control display is undefined; please run `nvidia-settings --help` for usage information.
I have ready every single related page on Google along with the relevant pages on the forum. I'm looking for someone with a similar or the same configuration who might be able to provide a guide on how to configure a single mining rig.
In addition, I need to know what's the best Ubuntu version and the Nvidia driver version for mining altcoins in general.
Once I collect the necessary information, I will be happy to share the tutorial with the community myself in a blog post.

I don't understand how I use this Program to mine other Coins than ZEC? For instance I want to try and mine HUSH but I don't see any information on how I would switch coins. Any help would be appreciated!
I just changed the pool address and port in the .bat file and I've been mining ZEN without any problems. How do you get this to work with Aikapool, any idea? It gives me stratum Auth errors. :/

Hi there! Guys I've some problem with EWBF's miner. Sometimes it shows my GPU are stopped for unknown reasons and after that I recieve 0 sol/sec forever. To solve it I just need to restart the miner and after that the process is going on. So I've to monitor the miner from time to time There are 2 ways to solve the problem: - close and restart the miner after getting this error automatically
- somehow notify user about the problem: maybe via email - that's really not to hard to put 20 lines of code generating smtp sending
Thank you! P.S. More detailed log with the error: ERROR: Looks like GPU0 are stopped. Restart attempt. INFO: GPU0 are restarted. Hi, could somebody tell me what's solver # meaning? differents mining alg?
solver 0 = most recent GPU Thx, could you be more specific? how NOT so recent should be my gpu to use 1 or 2 or 3? does it have to do with cuda CC ver? or just gpu type? is there any table of usage? No solver detailed description have been published so you will have to go with trial & error. The solver 0 is for the 1000 series I guess. If you have a 900 series GPU then you should try solver 1. I have all 1070s GPUs and solver 0 works perfectly.

Well, I have GTX 970 with solver 0 (was chosen automatically) and it also works perfectly - 310-315 sol/sec.

Deathwing, I am getting about 160-170 sol/s with my GTX 960, check your intensity settings and/or clock speeds.
It was temporary problem. Now it is back to my ordinary 460-470 Sol/s BTW what "intensity settings" did you mean?

It was temporary problem. Now it is back to my ordinary 460-470 Sol/s BTW what "intensity settings" did you mean? Added option --intensity, sets maximum intensity. With the new update there is a new parameter called --intensity, if you do --intensity 64 it will use your GPU to its absolute limit and vice versa.

First of all, you need GUI for nvidia-settings to work. Second you need to install 378 drivers from graphics-drivers PPA. Then run sudo nvidia-xconfig -a --cool-bits=28 --allow-empty-initial-configuration, that will allow headless and overclock.

CUDA: Device: 0 Thread exited with code: 46 ..
Just got the same glitch, restarting the script worked fine. Some time ago I had kind of the same problem with Claymore and my AMD's. hint to EWBF: Setting the (-r 240) "restart by user" switch to every 4 hours solved my problem. Thanks for the restart by user hint, didn't even know it existed till I saw your post... So you type that in the (for example) supernova.bat file directly? miner --server zec.suprnova.cc --user user1.rig1 --pass x --port 2142 --r 240 Or -r 240? I tried both with 2 minutes instead of 240 and didn't seem to work. I'm using windows 10
