Hello all,

I've been working on optimizing the miner for windows and linux.

Here's my most optimal current setup:

miner v0.3.3b
GTX 1070
Windows 7
90% TDP
+200 Core Clock
+700 Memory Clock
450 Sol/s

I'd prefer to mine in linux, and my initial setup attempt with ubuntu 16.10 - I've not been able to get overclocking to work right so it seems it is at stock - but at 100% TDP, it seems I'm only getting 420sol/s.

Has anyone been able to get better numbers with linux at all or should I stick with Windows 7? I've had a very frustrating time working with trying to get the overclock to work, doesn't seem to be functional via the GUI.

Maximum overclock for Zotac mini's (my electricity is free):
Zotac 1050 Mini 157-159 sol/s : core +165, mem +650, operates at 73 - 75C degrees; even core +168 goes quiet unstable, mem goes unstable after +700, and lay down at +750
Zotac 1060 Mini 289-297 sol/s: core +185, mem +750, 71 - 73C; core up to 205 but a little unstable, mem at 900 lays down.

Do u mine Ethereum with Zotac 1060 Mini and whtas ur hasrate? ty

Periodically, the application hangs and does nothing, after pressing Enter in the window the application displays the message "Temp: ERROR: Lost connection with the server." Next, the connection is reconnected and the execution continues. The parameter --eexit 3 is enabled, the temperature of the GPU is normally not more than 70 degrees Celsius. Someone faced a similar problem?

You don't need to add a full line with IP, just --api. Then type  127.0.0.1:42000 in browser and you will see stats.
Thanks. Now work. But work only in local computer with ewbf. How can open from another computer/ipad?

"--api" only works for local if you don't specify anything I think
Use "--api 0.0.0.0:42000" instead.
Then, on the other computer under the same network, type "miner_lan_ip:42000" for example, 192.168.1.101:42000
Idk why they are different but it works.
I'm using 0.3.4b.

Well the difficulty has been Soaring high since yesterday...it started on 2.5million right now it's been hours that it's staying on 4.1million....http://www.mycryptobuddy.com/ZCashMiningCalculator.... are the numbers in these calculators even trust worthy?i mean i've noticed i've been mining less compared to yesterday but is it really like that? but then again i think this instability is because Bitcoin was made legal in India yesterday or something...maybe it will calm down after a few days...

ZEC network hashrate is at an all-time high right now - by a narrow margin over a short spike a couple weeks back.

A lot of miners WILL chase the "most profitable" coin - which is why I tend to refer to "the basket" of coins that have similar profitability, when one moves miners shift and even them out.

Right now the basket is huge - TONS of high-profit coins to choose from, more than at any other time in the short history of Cryptocoin Mining.

5 years from now, miners will probably be looking at this timeframe we're in right now as "the golden age" and the Litecoin/X11 craze days as "the silver age".

so basically Zcash's days are numbered...in probably a month from now, it would be next to impossible to mine Zcash right?

Jumping to ridiculous conclusions that have no bearing in reality is not helpful. Even less helpful when you vent them publicly where the wrong person might read it and think it is true. This is how FUD spreads.
ZEC difficulty is always going to get smashed when ethereum is hurting, eventually enough people will switch algos and things will settle down again. The fact of the matter is mining either coin is still crazy profitable right now. Even after this diff adjustments my rigs are still making $200 a week.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

I've decided to convert my AMD rigs to Nvidia to gain some space for more gpus. I've listed my rx series gpus on some auction website and I've received crazy offers lol. Then checked online stores and discovered that 1060, 1070, 1080 and 1080 ti is out of stock. Crazy? Yes Smiley

Thanks. Now work. But work only in local computer with ewbf. How can open from another computer/ipad?

Yes, you need to open the port 42000 in your router and then connect to your WANIP :42000

I opened port 42000 however WANIP:42000  not working Sad. I put my public ip on "WANIP"

I have multiple  rigs on that IP, is it a reason?

If you want to use your WAN IP you will need to use a router to forward the requests with the port numbers on to the correct rig.  Each individual rig will need to be set to its local IP + a port number that is unique for router to forward to.

ie.

192.168.1.1:42001 - rig1
192.168.1.2:42002 - rig2
192.168.1.3:42003 - rig3

ect.

then you just need to setup the corresponding forwards in the WAN router to direct each unique port to the correct local IP.

Thank you. I am not a tech guy. therefore I will not be able to do it Sad

It really is quite easy, you just need to connect to your modem, it will most likely have port forwarding options.  If you can get a mining rig up and running, I'm sure you can figure out the port forwarding.

I don't see why you would want to do port forwarding on your home router.  (unless you want to be out on the open Internet and view these web pages - which I think would be a potentially big security hole)

If the computer you want to view it on is behind your home router, as are the miners, just use the miner's IP address. Your traffic wouldn't be going thru the router at that point, so no changes with port forwarding needed. You will have to start the miner's with "... --api IP:42000 ...". Where IP is that specific miner's IP address.

I thought I saw someone had a parameter that automatically changed the IP address to the correct one?  Something like %IP ?  Back around page 110, but I've searched and not found it yet.

I just asked his opinion. I wasn't trying to spread fud or anything...and yes someone who already has an established rig doesn't need to worry about difficulty cuz they either change the coin they are mining or they have already got the money they had spent...i on the other hand have just started since yesterday and based on the things i've been seeing i decided to start by mining Zcash with my 980Ti for now and later try it with small rig of 2 1080 cards and expand on it later on...

A week ago I left several browser tabs open to GPUs on Newegg. Last Friday, I noticed them and hit refresh.  About half of them showed as out-of-stock, the other half had 15% price increases.  The 1060 I bought on 6/10 for $240 isn't available from Newegg, but a third party (JoyMall) has stepped in and offers them for $499. The 1070 I purchased for $410 is now $480 and limit one.

I used a key for logfile name  in .bat:

Code:
--logfile ZCASH.%date:~6,4%%date:~3,2%%date:~0,2%.rig1_0.log
And after miner started ZCASH.20170621.rig1_0.log will be created

But when i try use this date variable of logfile name in config - log not created Sad

How i can obtain date-named logfile if i use config file?

bat variables are not expanded inside config file. As current version logfile name in config is not parametric.

more like 6 months minimum, and probably a good bit longer if ETH lives up to it's "planned phase-in" starting around the end of the year.

Where the heck are you comming up with "a month"HuhHuh

you just navigate to the ip address and port number that you have put in the config file.

ie

http://192.168.1.201:42000/

if the ip is 192.168.1.201 and the port is still 42000

Can someone write a small program - a monitor? Like ETHmon, by Claymore's for his miner. To collect data from several IP / rigs?
For Windows, and for Android too )

Totikk,
For monitoring I usually use my phone for monitoring, this can be done with this apps:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=xyz.cryptomines.nanopool
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=xyz.cryptomines.zcash

Of course use accordingly depending on your mining pool.
