why use this miner anyways, its officially the slowest for cuda and equihash. dtsm's cuda miner and Bfast's cuda miner are faster. not to mention ewbf has bailed months ago
Hello!
Where i can find Bfast's cuda miner?

In my testing of dstm, it is either the same speed or so little faster vs EBWF as to make it LESS effective given the FIXED 2% fee (ebwf can have the fee modified to suit).
I also strongly dislike the interface on dstm, way too much "busy worthless garbage" on it, but if it was enough faster to matter I'd tolerate it - I'm not REAL fond of the ewbf interface either.

BFast doesn't exist for LINUX.

I haven't heard of Bfast cuda miner. Perhaps CryptoWatcher420 meant Bminer: a fast Equihash miner for CUDA GPUs which does have a Linux release and also has a fixed 2% dev fee. Personally bminer hasn't worked for me, a lot of rejected shares, so i'm sticking with dstm's ZCash / Equihash Nvidia Miner v0.5.7 (Linux / Windows)

Bminer released the LINUX version quite recently - probably about the same time as I posted that it doesn't exist, or a day later.
I've only done very limited testing of it to date, and have been UNDERWHELMED by it's performance - see my recent "testing" post in that thread.

Not saying it's BAD - but when it's 20 hash SLOWER that EBWF on my Aorus 1080 ti at 90% TDP (I don't bother with 100% TDP as the tiny hashrate increase isn't worth the extra power draw) and wasn't significantly IF ANY faster at any other power setting I tried, it makes me take the "faster" claims with a couple POUNDS of salt.

Could be that miner is better optimised for smaller cards though, so I WILL test it on lower-end stuff sometime.

from what I know he is pretty new and so is his miner. so it may not have the optimizations for 1080ti yet

You keep spouting that "slowest" claim - when in actual fact it is NOT the slowest in many cases and in others the difference is LESS than the 2% fee charged by dstm or BFast.

You mean bminer not bfast, anyway i agree i did some calculations subtracting the devfee of 2% my gain for a rig is less then 1% over EWBF, the problem with EWBF is that dev doesnt seems to be interested to keep working on this miner anymore, so no little new optimizations, no new features, no future improvement. so basically EWBF is stuck. Other devs at least are showing they want to work with the community. And yes they need to make a living so i dont blame them for the devfee.

some of the problem is when the abandon there danm program and leave the dev fee at what it is when they aren't fucking working on it, the least they could do is remove the fee and make the program fully open source

Do keep in mind that miners DO get to a point that they are optimized to the max and no future speed increases are POSSIBLE.

As an example, Claymore's ETH miner didn't perform noticeably if ANY better ON ETH than the final Genoil offering - his only REAL improvement was the "dual mining" mode which SOMETIMES offers higher profitability.

Yop. So now only the speed and quantity of GPU's matters? Smiley

I agree with the comment that if the dev is effectively abandoning the project the best thing to do for the community would be to open-source it and let the community continue development if they so choose.  It’d also garner a lot of goodwill from everyone for whatever future endeavor he decides to do.

That is not true. Claymore improved speed up to version 9.8 (which is about 2 months old).

omg.. I forgot to turn off windows update..  what a mess.. I had to disconnect all cards.
..
fyi.. click on the lower left and type in 'services'.. and you will see "Windows Update".. disable it.   You can always update windows when you want.

If I want to update manual is that OK?  I just want disable auto update only.... I want keep manual update as it is very important :-)

Only on the "dual mine" side, and the only REAL improvement on ETH hashrate out of his miner was due to the Blockchain Drivers out of AMD.

His miner on just ETH is STILL little to no better than Genoil's final release of LAST YEAR, while charging that ripoff 2% fee that is more than any hashrate improvement Claymore has ever shown.

I wish I had 10% of his income from his ripoff level fees - he's probably earning more than ANY mining farm short of Bitmain's from that bloody fee.

v9.7:

- Added ASM mode for RX460/560 cards, up to 30% speedup for second coin in dual mode.
- Improved ETH speed for some Nvidia cards.
- Improved speed in dual mode for Nvidia cards.
- reduced initialization time.
- a few minor bug fixes and improvements.
- EthMan: added ability to select several rigs.
- EthMan: several minor bug fixes and improvements.

What Claymore basically did with Nvidia improvement is that, there were some guy made improved  to the code on ethminer on Nvidia cards. Ethminer is open source so Claymore could look at the code and put it in his miner. He released version 9.7 after the improvement of ethminer.

Has anyone had a problem with this miner just getting stuck? Doesn't crash, just gets stuck and never mines more, although it's still working the video cards. Mine is stuck "accepted" 311, and I let it sit there for a few hours. Closed it and reopened it and it's mining again.

Any idea how to fix that so that doesn't happen? This is on 7 nvidia 1070s

Try lowering your Afterburner settings, or shut it off completely... and try again.

I see EVGA Precision XOC will not allow me to clock more than 4 GPU's on my 6 GPU Nvidia rig. Afterburner causes the miner to lockup. Does --intensity have the same effect if my goal is to lower PSU power to 80%? Will my fans eventually blowup?

Also, what are the dev --fees values to adjust miner fee?

--fee doesn't quite work in windows, It still mines because of a bug in windows and how it does decimals or something
