not interested in myetherwallet for storgae, seen the guide and confuses me

has anyone downloaded the full ethereum windows client and stored their qrl that way?
if so, is there a guide out there for this for the full eth client, and do you need a small balance of ethereum in the wallet to receive, if so how much
thanks

Hey, Guido. I am using MEW, but I don't like it. But also at present moving away from a Ledger Nano S., so . . .

I understand you need a pinch of Eth in an Eth because that's what provides the 'gas' for transactions. Gotta understand this better, me.

Yeah exactly as you said you need some ETH in your wallet to pay the transaction costs. The transaction costs are called "gas" and are measured in the units of "gwei", you will have to have some ETH in your wallet for whatever transaction you do on the Ethereum blockchain, weather it is sending ERC20 tokens (such as QRL currently is) or sending ETH around, it all needs ETH (gas) to be processed.

What I dont understand is why you are saying that you are moving away from the ledger nano S. I understand why people dont like MEW and see a security risk in it (although this also depends on the security measures one conducts, it actually can be used very safely, if done the right way), but the Ledger Nano S is the safest way to store ETH and ERC20 tokens that are laying on your ETH wallet, because the private key cant leave the device and therefore never is exposed to attacks, no matter how much viruses and malware there is on your computer. I definitely vouch for hardware wallets.

Actually the private keys do leave the device on a nano ledger when the transaction is placed because it is connected to the internet during the transaction. Because of the connection the private keys become accessible and the ledger can be accessed while connected to your Computer. If you want the next layer of security for your cryptocurrency, hoofoo is crowdfunding a new hard wallet that utilizes your phone, Bluetooth, and actually signs the transaction offline and immediately disconnects from Bluetooth upon the transaction being accepted to the blockchain.

Hey, bribed!

I found the instructions for the Ledger totally unsatisfactory, and only agreed to use one because a crypto-geek associate set it up for me. And last week, the device failed. Luckily, we had a brand-new spare -- we initially bought two -- and the change over is underway.

Also had to use the MEW to access tokens in my Ledger Eth account. The MEW is likewise poorly designed. The pair of them -- the MEW connected to the Ledger -- gives me the creeps!!

Wrong thread, dude.

This guy did post this rubbish in almost every thread I read today. Really annoying, glad that the mods did delete his posts. On top this kind of stuff just sheds a bad light on the project he wants to promote.

Yeah, lots of FUD and impatient people here. But to be fair the creator did make some mistakes. How many people here are holding this?

I been holding sizable QRL for almost 3 months now, thought mainnet release was imminent but guess I was wrong.  However, looks to be 1/2 year to 1 year more to bear fruition.  Long term hold.   Well I am in a way forced since bittrex locked my account for almost 2 months now.

Quantum computing will defy moores law if  you ask me.  When QC come even close to being mainstream, QRL will rocket off.

Got a bit. For some reason, I particularly enjoy trading it.

@ Digital: do you expect to get your Bittrex account unlocked?

I am a US citizen so I expect this to be concluded one way or other.  I did read a post about a Ukraine bittrex user who got $1 mil locked away for 4 months ready.  Still got funds locked up.  I am going to wait little longer before retaining legal rep.

When I listen to quantum, I remember some movies and this makes me very scared to read more about the project, I hope that my fear is only in the movie.  Grin Grin

It is a legitimate threat. Once it is operational, there is no telling what the repercussions will be. Imagine a hostile power had access to Quantum computing. What is to stop them from breaking into remote networks, breaking almost every known cryptographic algorithm that is in use today. That is why this project is trying to thwart that threat, and create a secure currency for use in a Post-Quantum world.

Now that the hardware is getting there soon, quantum coding will speed up with it. Microsoft releases it's first quantum coding kit. (QRL is mentioned in the last paragraph of this eWeek newsarticle about the coding kit!!)

http://www.eweek.com/development/microsoft-releases-free-preview-of-quantum-development-kit

Quantum computers will be available through clouds. (IBM already has a 5-qubit quantum computer open for anybody in a cloud.) Anybody can start practicing coding with these kind of kits. IBM:

Shame QRL is starting to bleed now while most other alts are starting to recover or jumping insanely.. I expect QRL to rebound over 10k over the next few days/weeks as this bull run has affected most markets. Not sure if it will stay there though, not until mainnet at least.

Look lads...

We are up about 100% in a month in terms of FIAT and we are close to the 0.00008 BTC line where we were a month ago (see below pic).

So the only one really bleeding here is Sammy.

Perhaps we should announce a FAKE PARTNERSHIP with MICROSOFT and throw in a CENTRAL BANK to COORDINATE the consensus! Yes that would do it!

No. Hello from the other side.
