Sorry, you are misinformed or didn't remember things correct.

MOON never was listed at Poloniex, and never was removed from Cryptsy,
when Cryptsy stopped withdrawals and trading, MOON was present at Cryptsy with good trading volume,
that's why a lot of people in this thread reported their Mooncoins left forever at Cryptsy.

It's true that an original dev mentioned health issues before his sudden disappearing.

You're right, it's been a long ass time.

Mooncoin was however completely dead on cryptsy and was listed on the other largest altcoin exchange at the time, I just can't remember what it was. Poloniex wasn't that big at the time, but that huge exchange it was on, which also had tons of volume, got hacked as well and shut down. I lost a ton there. All my damn alt coins

Again, this is wrong. Mooncoin was never dead on Cryptsy. Quite the contrary, it even was one of the coins with the largest volume there often, until Cryptsy died. It was not listed in the BTC-market anymore, yes. But imagine a coin making the largest volume of ALL Cryptsy markets (incl. BTC) only on the LTC-markets. That was/is Mooncoin.

Mooncoin was never listed on Poloniex, as Mooncoin_Foundation already said. Please do your due diligence, before posting. Thanks.

Edit 1: Maybe you mean CoinEx? It was one of the first exchanges, where MOON was traded back in the day and it was heavy trading there for MOON, reaching over 30 sat. Then the exchange went down ...

BTW: MOON only  ~18% retracement in this correction phase. Check the list: Most other coins have gone down much more: http://coinmarketcap.com/

Edit 2: Now it's ~34 % minus. But still perfectly in sync with all other coins. Mooncoin will get stronger with every correction.

Have you seen the new tools-tab on coinmarketcap?

http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/mooncoin/#tools

That's a nice Mooncoin-website widget.

Alright, thought I'd better pop in and go over some of the activity in the past three days.

Originally a small group of us came across mooncoin in a thread on 4chan's /biz/ board, which surprisingly consisted of solid information on the coin and relevant links. Also a promising coin, sitting at 1 sat? Seemed interesting with the recent developments of coins like RDD and DGB.

We started a discord (https://discord.gg/D57cx8) to gather information and generate a bunch of hype. A few members invested 2-3 BTC worth at 1sat and after about 6 hours we had 30+ members and had helped to bring the coin up to 2sat.

The following day the walls kept falling and interest kept increasing, though many people were in it for the pump and then the obvious dump at 4/5 sat.
We had 150 members at this point, but as the coin fell many people bailed with their quick gains, leaving a lot of people stranded with 3-4 sat buy ins, but still hopeful of future increase.

The majority of people left are in this for the longer term investment, and are actively creating content including copious amounts of pictures, alongside a few people planning to get some informative mining videos on Youtube and create a blog with updates and information.

Assuming this is alright with the devs, we'd like to continue forward and see what the future brings to this coin with a bit of hard work.

I did message James earlier and we swapped a couple of messages, but I thought I'd make our own personal goals clearer here.

The group itself is still quite disorganized, but its been a lot of fun so far, and many people who are new to crypto trading have learned quite a bit about how the market works. Of course there is still much to be done in regards to making a tidy appearance and ensuring no false information is spread, but we are working towards being an honest, open, and for-the-people community.

Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated!

Zareeth.

Sounds good.

Edit:
Would be nice to keep Mooncoin being an organically growing coin, rather than pump and dump, so it will still be a good (long term) investment even for smaller investors.

Only word I've heard about Bittrex was from the subreddit, random people making random claims that it's coming to Bittrex (supposedly tomorrow). As much as I would love for that to be true, it's very unlikely.

Hey everyone!

I was looking for some altcoins with potential below 0.10€ to invest in long-term and stumbled across Moon.
I've just literally read your whole website and this whole topic and I have to admit I love it and the community around it. Unfortunately I'm a very small fish, who managed to buy only few million coins, but I really  wish you lads to be able to collect fruits of your hard work soon. Devs and whole community around Moon seem like a bunch of hard working intelligent people. Fingers crossed for you! 😊

Really hope you'll be able to turn this into something bigger and successful, not because of the few coins I bought but because of all the work you've put in. Moon looks like a great project and it's much more potential than even most of over 0.5€ coins, yet the price is still extremely small. Some PR is the way you should be going to attract bigger fishes😉

Good luck,
Matt.

Thank you for good words.
Probably a good idea to keep your several millions, coins are being reaccumulated now in the hands of people who think long term.
The potential of Mooncoin definitely exists, the price is quite unpredictable though.
Also you are always welcome to this community, MOON is still at the very beginning and there is a lot of opportunities, not only buy and hold, also building projects in the Mooncoin ecosystem etc.

Currently there are 32974 Mooncoin funded addresses.
1,896,073 transactions were successfully processed since 2013.
You can verify this info at http://cryptoguru.tk/CurrencyInfo/index.php?Currency=MOON.

There were more than 40000 funded addresses before coins from about 10000 small addresses (Cryptsy addresses)
went to 2 top addresses (which are Cryptsy derived).
That indicated that about 10000 accounts at Cryptsy held MOON.

Let's hope it'll happen indeed.
We need to get this coin its volume higher. Much higher to ever reach a good number.

Mooncoin was derived from Dogecoin, Dogecoin was derived from Litecoin.

LTC, DOGE, MOON were the 3 most famous Scrypt coins in 2014.

Almost everyone who has an account at Bitcointalk registered before 2015, knows MOON.
During 2 days after a launch of Mooncoin (December 30, 2013), people have posted ~2,000 posts in the Mooncoin ANN thread.
It's easy to verify: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=389403.1980
That indicated the demand.

The less known fact is that DOGE was derived not directly from Litecoin (LTC), but from Luckycoin (LKY), which was based on LTC, and that the Luckycoin developer was for a while a dev and an independent auditor of Mooncoin.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=389403.msg9953113#msg9953113

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dogecoin :

Markus based Dogecoin on the existing cryptocurrency, Luckycoin,[18] which features a randomized reward that is received for mining a block, although this behavior was later changed to a static block reward in March 2014.[19] In turn, Luckycoin is based on Litecoin,[20] which also uses scrypt technology in its proof-of-work algorithm. The use of scrypt means that miners cannot use SHA-256 bitcoin mining equipment, and that dedicated FPGA and ASIC devices used for mining are complicated to create. Dogecoin was officially launched on December 8, 2013.[21] The Dogecoin network was originally intended to produce 100 billion Dogecoins, but later, it was announced that the Dogecoin network would produce infinite Dogecoins.

Definitely think we need to get the subreddit updated. Hasn't been updated in years and the mods are gone. Having a good sub on reddit can really help.
