Whether we go for yes or no that it should be held in classroom, one thing I know is that one cannot place something on nothing and that is the fact government will go a long way in making this possible if it will be taught in high school but in the university based on the independence that is being enjoyed in that part, then research will be going on in that area by students and lecturers alike but not to be taught in class because to best of my knowledge it wouldnt have been incorporated in the syllabus.

This is for a personal writing project I'm working on. I imagine that Bitcoin would be good for things like teaching things like math with decimals ("How many Satoshis do you need to get a tenth of a Bitcoin?", stuff like that), budgeting (Spend it on whatever you want, but when it's gone, it's gone), or even a little bit of IT / programming stuff like how cryptography works. What do you guys think of this?

Hey, thanks for sharing!

My name is Hristian and I am leading the Open Source University ICO at www.os.university.

Bitcoin and the blockchain in general have far deeper value beyond the one you refer to, when it comes to education.

Check out our project discussion at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2393582.0.

I will be happy to keep in touch.

Best,
Hristian

I think for younger audience it will be good to associate examples that they are familiar with. Bitcoin is a bit too abstract for that purpose. I would also think it's probably best to teach blockchain and the cryptography in general and mention bitcoin as one of the example.

i say yes. because basic education on cryptocurrency needs to be included in the lesson, so that students know the economic development as a manifestation of much-needed global transactions. so, the students need to know, to upgrade their knowledge.

I think it's a no for me. Every studies at classroom works as what it is now so why bother changing the strategy. It is not about the subject or what the main idea is. It is about learning.

i think yes, the reason being more and more children should be learning the scope of cryptocurrency not just through business like proposals but also to keep their transactions safe from banking data and cookies collected by Google and Apple. Hopefully educating such minds can lead to full decentralisation and will fundamentally bring about a new age of privacy and independence within the financial sector. The main issue now is to try and convince these old school economists to try and deliver not just from a young age but to also convince universities to join the campaign.

Bitcoin is future currency. As a future currency everybody should know about bitcoin such as who lead the future economy.  I think bitcoin need class room but not main subject like math its stay additional subject.

Its called the base 10 system, and bitcoin is far from the first thing to utilize it. bitcoin is decimals, but hopefully we are still teaching the children decimals in school, its only like the basis of fucking math LOL. essentially, there is no concept that bitcoin embodies that a child would benefit from being exposed to, that isnt already address by the educational system (because folks have been using number waaay before bitcoin was created, LOL). a home economics class, a finance class, and a computer science class should pretty much wrap up what someone would need to know to be conversant in bitcoin, for an adult. this being introduced under college level seems like a waste.

if we are teaching the kids bitcoin level programming, then damn, i wasnt doing it right in school apparently Grin

I prefer that Bitcoin stays out of the classrooms, except maybe for economic classes. For me there is not reason why we would use it. It is like if we used for example some product from a company as an example. School has to be neutral, it is its purpose.

Well its a good idea, and im sure it will really help a lot of students about it because they got an idea about bitcoin and later they could earn money from it to help their parents and their school fee. Also it can help the students those needs or basi needs in the school. Bitcoin could really help a lot to those students

I think teaching a bitcoin
would be a great idea.
For the people to know
the benefits of bitcoin.
Yes sir.
Students go to school
Sit in their sit
Teachers discuss about bitcoin
Students realise the value of Bitcoin
They discuss among them
Then all classes of people know from students

Well it should be included among business mathematics in which they can teach how graphs and other factors affect the price of bitcoin.

it is very useful to courses that is related to technology so they must know ideas about bitcoin for them to know the system of transferring and receiving data by being decentralized. its very essential to us people because bitcoin can also help us for our future.

Bitcoin is quite risky when bitcoin prices change rapidly. But there are many advantages that we can take when having bitcoin. The ease of various financial transactions and also the benefits that can be obtained is a thing that most people demand. I am a person who likes to take risks because I know anyone who dares to take a bigger risk then he will get the possibility of getting bigger profits.

For me? Its a no because there a lot of student will stop to enter in school because they see that because of bitcoin they dont need to enter in school because bitcoin can give us a huge money if you still workhard to earn it.

bitcoin in the classroom is yes because they can learn about blockchain technology and the opportunity to make money. they can learn what benefits from bitcoin, what they can get from bitcoin, they can learn trading to know more about crypto currency world and the best part is they can have a new investment that will give something bigger to them in future. but of course they need to finish their school or in college because education is important to them and if they can graduate then their parents will be proud to them.
