I think Bitcoin and Paypal is not in a category. While Bitcoin is an e-currency, Paypal is more than a service, a wallet or something like that. So, to compare Bitcoin and Paypal, it's so uncertain

Actually, I vote on No because Paypal is still good for business, In the right way, people will not complain about their publish information showed because it's a way to show their respect to their partner

Bitcoin and paypal have their own advantages, and they are of different nature, so we can not make the most accurate comparison. But in this forum, people use popular bitcoins, because the advantage of bitcoin is the swiftness of all transactions and wherever.
I think so, most people in this forum is using Bitcoin so that they know how Bitcoin works or some Bitcoin's benefit so that they do know more about Bitcoin than paypal then they like using Bitcoin than Paypal.

You are right. Both are suitable for different type of People and business. Most people prefer paypal just it is reliable and trusted for many years. They do not want to take risk for low transactions fee making the transaction to be remain unconfirmed for a longer period of time and many other things of bitcoins which are not suitable for them like unpredictable price of bitcoins .

Yes, i do agree that bitcoin will overcome paypal in the coming years ,eventhough it is one of the best businesses, bitcoin as well as paypal have their own merits and demerits, but bitcoin has enough potential to be a superpower in future businesses, the only thing bitcoin has to change is the way of accepting it as a currency because it is not allowed in a few countries and some people dont even know what bitcoin or paypal is!

Honestly, I don't think that bitcoin and Paypal will ever have equal legal status.
As we know, Paypal is legal company in USA, and they have to verify their users, report all transactions to authorities, operate according to the law etc.
Bitcoin is not company, it's decentralized system without any government control.
Because of it, bitcoin swill remain alternative way of payments but many btc users will struggle to legalize their online earnings through bitcoin.
So, they will have to exchange btc funds to real cash.
It's very similar for merchants.
So, I agree that bitcoin will probably become more popular than Paypal but because of legal limitations and money laundry and anti terrorists laws, people will still need to use Paypal.

It will not overcome Paypal. With the bitcoin rising transaction fee, more people are still going to used paypal for their online transaction and there are only a few online shop that accepts bitcoin as payments. They have their own strengths and disadvantages and we should used it used for our advantages.

It really depends on the people or business which is much suitable for them to use. In business like online stores they will prefer the use of Paypal than Bitcoin since it takes a while to process the transactions especially now that the blockchain is congested but soon it will be fixed surely. Also some people prefer using Bitcoin as  a payment to the services they offered rather than Paypal but some do.

PayPal is not invincible and even the weaker competition like Skrill have been regularly eating from it's market share, with bitcoin current rise the market cap is approaching the 60-70 billions and with the high tx number/min I think BTC is already working in the way to overcome PayPal.

The volume of bitcoin transaction might be bigger, but its due to mining in the general, if we would be able to trace the bitcoin really spent it would be for sure a number lower then paypal, due to merchants doesnt work with  bitcoins, paypal is a old company and it has some advantages like instant transactions, even with their high fees, something bitcoin is already having as well.

It's pointless to focus on the large number of transactions while the network is heavily being spammed. You can however look at how much value Bitcoin and PayPal move on a monthly basis. If you look at the current price, and take into consideration future increases, then it's just a matter of time before Bitcoin takes over PayPal in terms of volume in $$$. But then again, even if Bitcoin does happen to surpass PayPal in that way, it doesn't say much -- PayPal remains an extremely strong brand and service.

Almost all people who have Fiat know about PayPal. This is a convenient service that provides fast translations. Unfortunately, today bitcoin can not guarantee the speed of transfers. Therefore, its popularity is not so rapidly spreading

You have to notice that Bitcoin volume is fake because almost all the exchangers are using bots for tradings in order to show many transaction and to manipulate the market. So, BTC volume is not real Smiley

I.don't think bitcoin will overcome PayPal, these are two different things and they don't have the same purpose. PayPal is money service and bitcoin is virtual currency, so in fact they are not competition. And having in mind current fees it seams that PayPal has the better conditions at the moment.

I am not talking about trading volumes. I am talking about how many coins move from point A to point B on-chain. In the last 24 hours, coins valued at $513,700,000 have been moved, which is an insane number on itself. That's more than $15,4 billion per month, assuming the $$$ volume remains the same. PayPal's 30 day volume sits around $33 billion. If the price continues to increase in the coming 12 months, then the chances are that Bitcoin will have surpassed PayPal's 30 day volume for the first time.

Comparing bitcoin and paypal , it is like comparing apple and pears , they are both fruit but the fundamental difference beyond money. Paypal is a company which does not create new money, usually it is used to buy goods and services online, you need fiat currency to have balance on paypal , bitcoin  is a from of money + you don`t need fiat currency to accept it , bitcoin is like  digital gold rather than money. it can be money but it has its own value too. Cool
if you use bitcoin only purchase goods  online than , i prefer paypal , it is secure, way faster than bitcoin . have you hurt any scam hype using paypal ? Wink

These two have (at least) the same function that makes both still comparable. Bitcoin have its feature to send money worldwide, so does with PayPal. and if there's a question such "Will Bitcoin overcome PayPal?", it's basically asking about people's speculation in regard to specific feature with the same function which Paypal and Bitcoin have. It does make sense after all. If you're still saying that these are two different things, it's right, but, you actually don't get the real meaning of the question.

They have no competition between them instead they can be a solid partnership becoz paypal is just storehouse of many currency so it's possible that bitcoin in the future will be part of it but from now they are different to make them compete with each other i can say that bitcoin is a type of money and paypal is type of wallet

I believe that bitcoin already overcome paypal in terms in users there are a lot of people using nowadays more than paypal and in terms of aspects bitcoin far surpasses paypal as a payment processor.
Bitcoin is faster and more secured than paypal where in paypal your personal info can get easily sniff and spoof by an attacker and you will be an identity theft
While bitcoin network is unhackable and you send and receive anonymously.
