Will Bitcoin overcome Paypal?

Do you think that sometime in the future, Bitcoin might overcome Paypal, as it scales in capacity and userbase over the years?

We already have the ability to create our own marketplace with OpenBazaar, that uses Bitcoin as its payment method, so it should be no surprise that the combination of these two may be a fierce competition for both eBay and Paypal.

Yes, bitcoin is better than paypal. There's so many diffrences between of this two in terms of usages and features of bitcoin. Paypal can be only use for online payment but it cannot be trade unlike bitcoin is yes.

Agree with you mate, i think lot of paypal users are now transferring and used bitcoin for their online transaction. And also more users know that we can easily do earning in bitcoin than paypal. Like me before i always used paypal in every online transaction i made but when i discover bitcoin i am quickly ignore paypal and start using bitcoin.

I think that's not right. The majority of PayPal user as I know don't switch to bitcoin but prefer to use both based on their needs. Maybe you can make earning with bitcoin and more benefits, but still, PayPal have the widest coverage among any other payment processor. Therefore, the majority of people still holding on with PayPal.
For you, it's maybe as easy as flipping hand when talking about switching over services but for someone who has business with these things. It's kinda hard and needs a lot of effort.

Not sure exactly! On the other hand PP has universal payment methods as far as I know. But not much sure about about Bitcoin. It's universal currency?

Ya it is true that due to so many verification and restriction from paypal, they are loosing the customer base and bitcoin is getting that benefit, and more over paypal got hold of the users account but in bitcoin no one can do anything to users account until they itself dont do any mistake for their own loss.

Paypal is actually safe, but with there over rules and conditions, people are jumping to bitcoin payment. Yes as you told so many verification and restriction to release our payments and it will take a long time to delivery. If the buyers want to cheat sellers, they have a chance to cheat in PayPal transaction saying that they did not receive good product or any other reasons like this. This type of issues we do not face in BTC.

I can say may be because bitcoin is proved better transaction compare to PayPal even bitcoin is having limitation
1) bitcoin price variation actually normal currency won't do
2) lots of people seeing bitcoin as investment

Both paypal and bitcoin has a advantage and this advantages , Bitcoin is good when it comes with anonymity and by security. Paypal is more safer and it is more reliable when it come in transaction because transaction time is some how faster than bitcoin. I think bitcoin didn't overcome paypal now but I know the system will have a upgrade and transactions wil be faster than before. I think bitcoin can overcome paypal in the future I think.

well to be honest they are not different at all  when you think about it. Both of them allows sending money from one person to another, both of them uses online currency to send over fiat (usually). The only fact that is different between them is that paypal needs third party in order to operate and bitcoin does not. That's why bitcoin is much better than paypal is and that's why it is going to become bigger soon.

But ofcourse if you know the seller or sending to your friends and family, currently Bitcoin is a far better choice. If BTC improves more and curbs fees to some extent, it will really be unstoppable.

The fact is that the cooperation of PayPal and Bitcoin will bring very good results and users I think it will be appreciated. The fact is that I do not understand to some extent why some Bitcoin users are very negative about PayPal and how they can use the payment system to use Bitcoin.

No you are not right as bitcoin is more easy way to pay for stuffs. I am very happy with bitcoin than paypal because there are a lot of issues with paypal which everyday everyone is claiming but with bitcoin there are not much issues and no one claiming as scam from bitcoin while a number of people are claiming that paypal is scamming them

The biggest problem from paypal is that it is only for a few people and it is a centralized payment method so people do not like that type of digital money for their business if they will find a decentralized payment method and a payment method which is available at every corner of the world.

Bitcoin is not competing with Paypal or Visa its competing with the US dollar. So in a sense the relationship between Bitcoin and Paypal is like the Trojan horse and Troy. If we get bitcoin inside paypal, then that will be a big blow to the US dollar.

And PayPal has a very good reputation with the years they operated. But for some they are destroyed and not that fair with the sellers and buyers because of their policy. But I doubt it bitcoin will overcome PayPal soon, maybe after a decade possible that people will be enlighten with bitcoin.

The credibility of PayPal could get ruined by the large number of people complaining about their company. I mean there is a website that is focused only on PayPal scams and negatives reviews yet PayPal does nothing about it. Bitcoin can help those people out though if PayPal integrates Bitcoin then it would be another issue.

Yup, but paypal is used by even more people all across the world for daily transactions and the fees of it are not too huge. While bitcoins get bigger and bigger fees because of the full blocks and the ridiculous discussion between core and unlimited. To be honest, I'm pretty sure that people don't even care which one is going to win, the users want to just be able to use bitcoins at this point.
