We cannot say if yes or not but for me i think yes because so many people or users use bitcoin and it so convenient when paypal and bitcoin is combined.
Yup, but paypal is used by even more people all across the world for daily transactions and the fees of it are not too huge. While bitcoins get bigger and bigger fees because of the full blocks and the ridiculous discussion between core and unlimited. To be honest, I'm pretty sure that people don't even care which one is going to win, the users want to just be able to use bitcoins at this point.
Yes people are not care about which one is the winner because people only care about what benefit that they can get from bitcoin and paypal. But I think bitcoin could be the winner because probably people will consider about bitcoin as good investment.

Nothing wrong with comparing Bitcoin to Paypal... if the right "aspects" are used. It is already very close to matching market cap and will maybe reach it this year, of course not everyone agrees that market cap is a good thing to compare.

But Bitcoin is still so far behind with merchant use, not to mention transaction time. This is what is still the big gap for crypto.
Yeah, there is not that many people purchasing Bitcoin and spending them right now compared to the people within Paypal doing a bunch of transactions per day. Although Bitcoin and PayPal are two different systems, the point of  Bitcoin is pretty much set that people from anywhere in the world could have money to spend electronically.

Whether they hold the coin or not, the daily usage of Bitcoin could get multiplied if the right people get involved with it.

Not that soon. People like the convenience Paypal offers them when paying stuff.
Almost everybody has credit cards, which makes it simple to buy products online. BTC isn't all trustworthy for the regular people, and that's why its going to take some time before we become mainstream.

And PayPal has a very good reputation with the years they operated. But for some they are destroyed and not that fair with the sellers and buyers because of their policy. But I doubt it bitcoin will overcome PayPal soon, maybe after a decade possible that people will be enlighten with bitcoin.
Yeah right, we must admit that Paypal is a great company that has business units in many countries, legalitized of paypal is clear, bank accepted paypal, while bitcoin is still not widely known, so need more than a decade to hit paypal.

In trading volume may be bitcoin overcome Paypal, paypal is a financial institution incorporated, while bitcoin has no legal entity or owned by a person or company. Bitcoin is free, decentralized and will continue to grow either trade volume or value

Yes. I like it with it, I also think ebay fore will consider bitcoin as a means of payment, and can beat paypal, why I want bitcoin as a means of payment, I think if bitcoin as a means of payment in, so bitcoin will continue to climb high. This is my chance.

No you are not right as bitcoin is more easy way to pay for stuffs. I am very happy with bitcoin than paypal because there are a lot of issues with paypal which everyday everyone is claiming but with bitcoin there are not much issues and no one claiming as scam from bitcoin while a number of people are claiming that paypal is scamming them

That is certainly true, mate. Although Bitcoin does have some issues like scalability and fungibility, it has many advantages over PayPal like lower fees, global payments, and no verification required to use it.

Since PayPal has been a long time in the scene earlier than Bitcoin, it has gained worldwide recognition among individuals and businesses alike. However, with Bitcoin's growth in price and popularity it could attract a number of people to use it, due to its features, taking out PayPal's place in the future.

Nevertheless, nowadays Bitcoin is not even close to overcoming PayPal or other centralized payment solutions due to scalability issues. I'm confident that this would be solved in the future, to make Bitcoin more robust and usable than ever. Just sharing my thoughts.  Grin

Of course .. Because of the benefits of Bitcoin from Papal .. Many countries can not use Pepper. But Bitcoin can be used in all countries.

What in the world is pepper? Many people residing in various countries can’t use PayPal because the Government or their military does not allow them to use it. The people that like to use PayPal usually didn’t ever have a frozen account. Frozen PayPal accounts are the worse when trying to do business with someone online since the money in the PayPal account can’t be moved at all until PayPal says that it’s okay to do so.

Bitcoin is a better option to use.

Do you think that sometime in the future, Bitcoin might overcome Paypal, as it scales in capacity and userbase over the years?

We already have the ability to create our own marketplace with OpenBazaar, that uses Bitcoin as its payment method, so it should be no surprise that the combination of these two may be a fierce competition for both eBay and Paypal.

Nevertheless, feel free to vote on the poll above and express your opinion about it, if desired.  Grin
I think bitcoin has a great chance for bitcoin to overcome paypal but I do not think it is going to be soon, I think it is going to take at least 10 to 20 years for bitcoin to be able to rival paypal and ebay, but for that we need a solution to the slow confirmation time.

The credibility of PayPal could get ruined by the large number of people complaining about their company. I mean there is a website that is focused only on PayPal scams and negatives reviews yet PayPal does nothing about it. Bitcoin can help those people out though if PayPal integrates Bitcoin then it would be another issue.

It may ruined by I don't think they will be down by those people easily. It is a big company and even there are thousands of customers complaining as long as there are other customers for them to serve, it's going to be nothing for them. I have read some complains and scams regarding the company but it's the fault of other customers.

at the present price value of bitcoin now, yes it is truly bitcoin surpassed Paypal. Because its a kind of global business, and world class tradeable assets in the exchange platform.

It is already coming this is why even PayPal is also thinking of linking arms with Bitcoin so it will not be derailed but can also be part of the bandwagon...as to how PayPal will eventually answer the Bitcoin challenge it remains to be seen but am sure that PayPal is also a very creative company they can find their market and the niche and play with it so it can remain a big player and profitable at that. PayPal is very aware of Bitcoin and they know that Bitcoin is eating into their market at an alarming rate much more if the scaling problem can be solved by August.

For me I think it has already overcome PayPal in terms of trading volumes and even coverage. Bitcoin can be sent to any part of the world with internet access but PayPal is not available in every country and so cannot be accessed by all.

Oh yeah, Indeed! I never like PayPal, they're so greedy... Sooner or later Bitcoin would overcome PayPal because Bitcoin has more freedom "Worldwide" compare to PayPal that's only available for certain countries around the world.

i use bitcoin more than paypal  Grin

That's the reality on the ground but it's hard for some powerful people to accept. For Bitcoin has long overcome PayPal because of its ever increasing demand and global usage so PayPal cannot compete and it's just a matter of time for the whole world to see.

I personally have no idea either paypal has good reputation or not but i only know that paypal is not available everywhere. it service is limited to certain area, i have no facility to use paypal and therefore my first choice is bitcoin which s a universal currency and is available everywhere.

Since i start using Bitcoin i was not able to pay attention to my paypal anymore, i was not able to do transaction with paypal too because whatever i can do with paypal i can also do using Bitcoin. Using Bitcoin the transaction process is faster than using Paypal so i guess if most people who uses Paypal and now using Bitcoin have the same understanding like me.

maybe the time near future, almost all online merchant try to set the bitcoin payment. at that time bitcoin overcome paypal
