I don't think so. Bitcoin is still not that popular . There some issues with BTC.prices keep on fluctuating all the time.still globally not accepted.concept of payment is difficult to understand for everyone.Authority have no control over it chance of misuse. And lastly and most important fact that a lot of people in Asia, Africa still know nothing about it. In some country like India more than 90% people never hard of BTC. So in few years there is no chance of BTC overcoming paypal.

In my opinion, bitcoin and paypal serve different purpose. PayPal is legal American company, and they are required to collect all information about their users and report to the authorities. So, in the future, people will use PayPal only for official payments, where the identity of the payer or the payee must be known to the authorities. Bitcoin will become number one for all other, anonymous payments.

Maybe and I think bitcoin have a great possibility to overcome paypal in near future because as we can see, it is starting to be recognize and notice by many people. It also have a high potential and bright future all it gotta do is to increase the usage of it. But ofcourse it will need a long time in order for it to happen due to most of us still don't have any ideas about the bitcoin existence and paypal is the one who they know.

Paypal is a centralized payment system and they are well established now but since bitcoin and the entire crypto currency is steadily growing we can surely see some great competition in the future to come. I'm looking forward of that happening soon, but for now paypal is way bigger than bitcoin.

It's possible but far from reality. Paypal has already established its name as the leading online payment system. Every one talks about Paypal. It becomes a household term but remember that Bitcoin is catching up. Everyone, these days, is starting to talk about Bitcoin. What is bitcoin? How does it work? How to invest in bitcoin? All these questions can act as a vessel to drive bitcoin to the right direction. Just not sure if it's enough to overtake Paypal. Never underestimate a brand that rules the world.
That is certainly true, mate. PayPal has been in the financial sector way before Bitcoin, so it has a major trust and reputation from businesses and individuals alike due to its long term standing as a solid payments processor. However, I believe that at some point in the future, Bitcoin will become more popular than PayPal, as it matures over time, and delivers benefits that supersedes the ones from PayPal. With lower fees, and greater transaction throughput (once it scales), the pioneer cryptocurrency will make strides and become the top choice for e-commerce. It should only be a matter of time before PayPal adopts the blockchain, or it gets left behind as it will be a thing of the past. Just my thoughts

Yeah. Despite the similarities between PayPal and Bitcoin for money transfers, they're different one from another. It's like comparing oranges with apples. But, rest assured that the more traction Bitcoin gets, the more attractive it will become for merchants and individuals to get ahold of its benefits. Eventually, both Bitcoin and PayPal will co-exist, as they have their advantages and flaws. Whenever you need to get access to fiat currencies, there is PayPal, and whenever you want to grow your investment for the long term and achieve financial freedom, there is Bitcoin. It is up to you to choose which of these payment processors suits your needs to help you maintain a steady financial life. Just my thoughts If I would choose I would still be with bitcoin side. The Paypal company is getting too strict with their rules and it looks like they are over reacting. I dont know where they get those kind of updates but if it is also users that wants those rules then they can all stay there for themselves. I know they are a company with a lot of connection with online shops but that should not be the reason to make it too strict with how to transact.

I hate paypal but I don't think you can say bitcoin will overcome paypal. They are two different things. If anything paypal will adopt bitcoin like a user said above or a new payment app (like Venmo or something else) will come around and have the option to pay with bitcoin.

Well Paypal is dealing with fiat and so big that It is really hard to replace it with something else. Even though they have had questionable business practices for years, nothing seems to be shaking them and it is the go to place if you are dealing with fiat. It is a system with no unknowns, no crazy terminologies... as long as you have money in your account that's it, go ahead use it.
Bitcoin is a baby compared to Paypal and will probably never replace it but it has it's own advantages. In the end there is no need to replace one another, they both serve different needs and can co exist.

I think once Bitcoin is big enough and becomes more stable it has the potential to overcome Paypal. Once outside people start to realize the potential of Bitcoin they will see it more as a currency and be able to treat it like one also.
Definitely yes, bitcoin could surpass paypal. Yeah, it is indeed that bitcoin is not popular yet. But bitcoin has a potential that paypal doesn't have and it is "voltality" this means that bitcoin could grow into enormous value but also fall. The only advantages of paypal is, it is legalize and widely used around the world but if bitcoin has been acknowledge by everyone I'm pretty sure that they would choose btc instead of paypal.

To be honest. Is not pretty easy for bitcoin to over paypal because people having been using paypal so long. Besides, statistic shows the number of total active registered user accounts to paypal are more than 210 million active accounts in world. While, the number of bitcoin users in world is very hard to estimate but resut shows that bitcoin transaction per was $260 million. Therefore, for bitcoin to really overcome paypal we need to work together.

Do you think that sometime in the future, Bitcoin might overcome Paypal, as it scales in capacity and userbase over the years? We already have the ability to create our own marketplace with OpenBazaar, that uses Bitcoin as its payment method, so it should be no surprise that the combination of these two may be a fierce competition for both eBay and Paypal. Nevertheless, feel free to vote on the poll above and express your opinion about it, if desired. Surely someday Bitcoin will overtake PayPal because PayPal operates on certain countries while bitcoin operates globally. Bitcoin provides all the security and privacy that people needs while on the other hand PayPal requires a valid identity. PayPal transaction fees is way higher than Bitcoin transaction fees. PayPal will surely be beaten by bitcoin in time, we just have to sit back and relax and wait for the time for bitcoin to takeover PayPal.

wtf? what is wrong with your brain? It is apparent that there are many people know about paypal and only a few people know about bitcoin. Moreover, the number of people know how to use paypal is more than bitcoin

I think bitcoin will overcome the paypal. Because first, bitcoin is becoming more pupular. It is ver easy to use with the different kinds of transactions. Next is that bitcoin has a very good potential in the market. But it should be use all over the world before bitcoin overcome paypal.

I can't understand why we expect bitcoin to surpass paypal method? We don't need this at all. Paypal is full central organization and it's working perfectly. Bitcoin has many problems.

It has already started to happen and this is a great thing for Bitcoin. It started with all those persons which Paypal shut down or froze they accounts without them doing anything illegal (I agree with Paypal when they freeze illegal accounts, using different IP-s and doing shady things but I don't when they shut anyone account down just because he is starting to make money in Ebay one example). All of these people have migrated to bitcoin and this is a good thing for bitcoin. After some years Bitcoin would have surpass Paypal in a great amount.

First and foremost this is really a topic that should be trashed in the first place,Paypal and bitcoin cannot be compared as it is just a payment gateway and bitcoin is a currency and a payment gate way, with the fork that happened right now ,it will be possible for more users to send tokens at a decent fees i guess and i do have my doubts whether there will be a same issue in the future .
