I have voted yes
Bitcoin has lots of potential to overcome Paypal in every way expect chargeback, we can expect it will happen when bitcoin developers solved block size problems so bitcoin is ready for more transaction and transaction fees might be reduced.

Before answering that question, can someone please tell me whether it is right to compare Bitcoin with Paypal? Because Bitcoin is a currency, while PayPal is a payment gateway which uses other fiat currencies. In an ideal case, we must be comparing PayPal with services such as BitPay.

They are not the same thing, it's like comparing a car with a horse, they might have the both can be used for transportation but they aren't really the same thing are they?

Same thing with bitcoin and paypal, both can be used to transfer money, but they are really the same thing in how they are used.

I can see in the future paypal accepting bitcoin as a currency and working hand in hand with it in the future.

Both were helpful depending on what we much prefered to use, having btc is much convenient for me but there are still some who prefer using paypal for it can widely used too.

undoubtedly, yes. But its gonna take some time. no body could stop or resist using blockchain by when they gotta know about blockchain and bitcoins functionality. BTC and blockchain technology gonna make all e-currencies least favorite over the time. its just a matter of time of BTC and its Acceptability.
But, BTC should think about its charges, of 1mbtc per transaction some how its effecting small investors.

Looks like it done, bitcoin overcome paypal. Especially people live in Asia most definitely prefer having and using bitcoin. Because bitcoin is easier, also there's no word 'blacklist' like paypal.

Absolutely yes, actually Bitcoin has already defeated Paypal in terms of Total Market cap. Many people started to left Paypal to use crypto currency due to less cost, hassle free, and fast transaction. Someday crypto currency would kill money transaction services like Paypal, Skrill. etc.

if the bitcoin is getting allure and the more people involved in it, I'm sure bitcoin can replace paypal. although it tends to bitcoin more difficult to regulate. but all that does not rule out the possibility.

If Bitcoin defeated Paypal then why is Paypal being used by more people until now? I guess that the total market cap is not a good basis to see if Bitcoin has already taken the place of Paypal. Paypal has another good feature where why most people prefer it as a payment system. Their method is so good that you can't get scam as the process acts as an escrow which protects your transaction. By now we know that there are a lot of scams that is happening everyday as users of Bitcoin can remain anonymous while they can create a lot of new addresses in order to continue on scamming.

Do you think that sometime in the future, Bitcoin might overcome Paypal, as it scales in capacity and userbase over the years?

We already have the ability to create our own marketplace with OpenBazaar, that uses Bitcoin as its payment method, so it should be no surprise that the combination of these two may be a fierce competition for both eBay and Paypal.

Nevertheless, feel free to vote on the poll above and express your opinion about it, if desired.  Grin
Look at bitcoin now, bitcoin almost defeats everything and I'm sure that bitcoin overcomes paypal in the coming future. Even though their are many people still uses paypal as transactions but bitcoin is more convenient and are easy to use. When people already start to use bitcoin I'm sure that was the final timing to defeat paypal by bitcoin. Because bitcoin has a great future and has a great potential in the coming future. Bitcoin will be in the top soon over everything. It has an amazing and great foundation. Cheers holders.
But some business like to use PayPal to create transaction than Bitcoin, because they can know onwner amount trading + can dispute if have scammer when create deal. And PayPal also can help you purchase instantly with cheap fees Wink.

I think it will overcome PayPal in fast transactions and of course the number of funds Bitcoin has more Dollar reserves than PayPal. But this is the only thing that bitcoin will be hard to overcome on PayPal, the security of every members from fraud. Unless you are using online wallets, in our country you can never use their service unless you'd undergo in their KYC verification. So you can open a dispute if the scammer is using the same online wallet.

Paypal is popular around the world. It already builds a strong foundation same as with bitcoin. And I think bitcoin will overcome paypal because it has an opportunity to make money using the currency as a medium trading. Unlike paypal, their main focus only is offering people a reliable payment flatform.

Bitcoin got all that features of paypal which is mainly about online payment. Bitcoin give also an opportunity for the people to use it as a way to pay things through the internet and receive the money without having any problem and the main thing that i like in bitcoin that will overcome paypal is the chance to either grow your bitcoin into a bigger one or gain profits in fiat value by just keeping your bitcoin in your wallet.

Bitcoin can not compete with the payment system. These are two different directions and they are inappropriate to compare. Bitcoin is now more used as an investment and is very popular with rich people.

You are not right. Bitcoin should not be used as it is used now. In the first place he thought of as currency. When the bitcoin market will take speculative capital the price of bitcoin will fall and many will suffer, but maybe then people will use it for other purposes. Then PayPal will not stand a chance.

For micropayments this will be challenging, and there is a prolonged way to go. However, as a way of storing value, I previously contemplate Bitcoin a safer way.
