I chose Yes. The efficiency of the blockchain technology surpasses the transaction time of paypal. And the security, bitcoin is still growing and there are many posibilities and advancement that we can make in the future. The potential of bitcoin is too big.

probably so
From commodities, to currencies, through banks
And now it's paid online over the internet
paypal did it quite well, but it seems that the position has been touted by BitCoin
I think so

it is not possible bitcoin will replace paypal as a means of payment that is currently being triumphed. But it must be accompanied by fixes and additions of bitcoin features, to be fast and precise. Nowadays many are using bitcoin as a direct payment tool, but not all areas of commerce are willing to accept bitcoin, which should be corrected bitcoin.

I also think Bitcoin can never replace them, surely it might come parallel as a competition, but replacing is quite unnatural.
Many people even using Bitcoin, uses Paypal. In emergency Paypal is still a winner as it takes no time to receive.

Ummm I'd say Bitcoin has already overcome Paypal. Look at the price for one. Then look at how BTC is decentralized, the network is immutable and the supply is limited.

I would be absolutely over the moon if Paypal accepted Bitcoin payments.

Paypal stand to gain a lot of attention from accepting Bitcoin and gain more and more customers (every business wants this). Many people all over the world have trouble selling Bitcoin once they have it, they also have problems with banks and such, thats why we seen the rise of those horrible "western unions" and the likes.

If Paypal would allow people to deposit bitcoin and get cash, i see this as a huge boost for both Bitcoin and Paypal.

Believe in the impossible and make it Possible.

Till date PayPal haven't come across with such a plan of depositing bitcoin and getting cash. Maybe in future we might get similar service as expected. Right now you could find lots of traders who accept bitcoin and provide the fund into PayPal. Such traders might fulfill the requirements of PayPal users who wish for bitcoin getting in contact to PayPal.

Having bitcoin as payment option on some sites will be enough than having contact with Paypal, some ICo accepting paypal and btc as well as fiat . In whatever we ise as long as were confident in using it ,it will be fine.

I have read an article on which Bitcoins and Paypal compare. And what I have read is that bitcoins in the paypal's market cap overcame. But if in pain we can say that paypal is the leader. But sooner it will be known that bitcoins especially now it is shining due to its price increase. And this is another part of what I read.

Bitcoins Market Cap 72 B against Paypal 70 B
Bitcoins 7 years old Paypal 17 years old

We already have the ability to create our own marketplace with OpenBazaar, that uses Bitcoin as its payment method.
it should be no surprise that the combination of these two may be a fierce competition for both eBay and Paypal.
About the legal fact, Bitcoin can not overcome paypal at this point. Paypal is controlled by financial organizations of the government .

I suppose that the difference is obvious, that paypal is only superior to trust and shopping. but, in terms of business, I think bitcoin is the best. well, so many business opportunities that can be generated from bitcoin. so far I assume that bitcoin is better than paypal

Yes of course it's possible for Bitcoin to overcome PayPal.
The Blockchain technology surpasses the transaction time of PayPal.
Bitcoin has more market cap than PayPal and remembering that Bitcoin has just come 7 years ago while PayPal came 17 years ago.

Bitcoin is not competing with Paypal or Visa its competing with the US dollar. So in a sense the relationship between Bitcoin and Paypal is like the Trojan horse and Troy. If we get bitcoin inside paypal, then that will be a big blow to the US dollar.

I quite agree with blacksmithtm, bitcoin is not competing with paypal, google pay..ecc but, with dollar, euro ..ecc other currency.

☞Although, this may affect mr PP indirectly just like what is happening now in the payment processing industry. people now see bitcoin as an alternative means of payment.

Thanks

I have voted no.
Primarly because bitcoin and paypal arent the same thing nor in the same category thus none can remplace the other.
Secondly if you're talking fiat, bitcoin max amount even after mining everything isnt enough to cover all the money already in the market.
I have wrote this statement many times that there is so much difference in PayPal and bitcoins. They totally are two opposite things that works in two different domains. PayPal and bitcoin can’t replace each other as you said, exactly it is.

Still if someone is asking this again and again then I think there must be a clear demonstration for them to understand.

bitcoin certainly has the potential to replace bitcoin and it is a lot better than paypal even. but in my opinion there are two things that are preventing this to happen.
1) is the volatile price: when price of bitcoin is not stable, people aren't seeing bitcoin as a currency. instead they treat it as an investment and nobody uses investment to buy things.
2) the block size: which is making the transactions pile up in the mempool, making things slow and increase the amount of fees by a great deal.

I agree with your first point. But i Dont think Transaction Speed prevents BTC/OpenBazar to overcome Paypal/eBay.
10-20 Minutes payment for buying things online (even tho its way longer than 5 secs with paypal) is fast enough. SEPA takes 2-3 days depending which banks are involved.

Sure, bitcoin can conquer paypal. In bitcoin, payment is irreversible and so retailers would favor it.Transaction fees is also minimal in bitcoins.Transaction time taken is a lot more and it has to be solved.User foundation of bitcoin is low when compared to paypal and so consumer volume of bitcoin has to be elevated. Most of my pals have shifted to bitcoin payment leaving paypal.

Actually, people will continue to use PayPal with bitcoin till services like eBay, Amazon do not start to accept Bitcoin instead of PayPal.

For example, I had totally logged out of PayPal and thought that I'd never login again, but then today I had to pay for my SAT exam (collegeboard), and using PayPal was the only available option for me.
