I think bitcoin presently surpass paypal with it truly is faster payment features and nameless consumer transactions. And bitcoin has been additional as another payment processor in most on the web markets if at any time you want to buy gizmos, items and solutions also several nations has adopted it and commence employing it far more than their fiat currencyMany nations are innovating bitcoin and creating atm devices.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Bitcoin and Paypal are two different ways of money transferring. Bitcoin had low fees without taxes so Bitcoin can overcome, but it will take more time as some of the countries put a ban on Bitcoin.

If their is no banning in any country, then surely it will overcome within a year as the transaction fee is too low comparing to Payapl.

I believe no and of course, Paypal is a actually popular for most of the men and women and practically all stores acknowledge payments from paypal even payment from acquiring bitcoins. You can hook up your paypal account to your Credit score Card but in bitcoin wallet, there are only some wallets that has these function. Paypal use true funds and some users of bitcoin, nonetheless transform their bitcoins into true cash.

Bitcoin can be useful for online payment, but PayPal is the best. PayPal provides online protection to buyers. PayPal is a mainstream payment processor and widely used. Many people of different countries do not like Bitcoin, they love PayPal because they are mainly shopping and everywhere, where they protect buyers. It is a very important thing in today's fraudulent way so that they can not cross PayPal online payment system as long as there is no protection for Bitcoin transactions.

Do you think that sometime in the future, Bitcoin might overcome Paypal, as it scales in capacity and userbase over the years?

We already have the ability to create our own marketplace with OpenBazaar, that uses Bitcoin as its payment method, so it should be no surprise that the combination of these two may be a fierce competition for both eBay and Paypal.

Nevertheless, feel free to vote on the poll above and express your opinion about it, if desired.  Grin

For me i dont think so. There are still so many people don't know about bitcoin, in the other hand, many people know what paypal is.

Almost for sure. Bitcoin is poised to easily take over PayPal. I cannot believe PayPal does not control all online purchases.

It might but its really hard. Not most of the people know about bitcoins now and far more people know about paypal. If more and more people get to know about bitcoins it might someday overcome paypal.

With the current setup, I think Bitcoin will not overcome paypal, one of the reason is that paypal protect its customer while Bitcoin protect its seller, I guess, protecting customer weighs more than protecting sellers so I guess Bitcoin will not overcome paypal, unless Bitcoin finds a way to integrate customer protection and at the same time sellers protection, that will be the time Bitcoin will overcome paypal.

i think most of the people are unaware of it and its is just in the hand of few people from all over the world. i think common people are unaware of bitcoin and as well as all of the crypto currency and one more thing that 90% of the online e-commerce sites accept paypal as a payment method and hence that plays a vital role but i think a person  who knows btc and paypal both would always prefer dealing via bitcoins but i think bitcoin is not in the hand of every one right now and a lot of people are afraid to use it.

With all the 'pain' I'm getting every time I use Paypal (part of it being because of Paypal services limitation for my current location) & the 'easiness' of using BTC and other Crypto Currencies, I'd say YES

I think it will because you can already pay at a couple of websites with bitcoin and in the future more websites will be able to do that also i believe that bitcoin will be the number exchange everywhere because the fees es are lower than normal exchanges.

Eventually it will.  I think the resistance from companies like paypal is mainly about volatility and the decentralized nature of bitcoin.  But the more popular bitcoin becomes as a payment method, the more it is in their interest to find a way to integrated bitcoin as a payment method.  Obviously there are challenges that still have to addressed in terms of volatility and exchange.

interesting question and it certainly is one of every bitcoin user's hopes to see this happen. but it needs more time because we need more transaction per second capability and also we need lots more adoption so that there is someplace to spend bitcoin on. first people have to start adopting bitcoin then they have to start asking/forcing merchants to accept bitcoin and in time i believe it can replace Paypal completely.

It will happen soon enough, its complicated to start a paypal account in the first place and its a hassle using paypal. People find it hard to use specially those who are not that techie and do not have a debit nor credit card. I could say its too limited and fail to adapt that the fast changing online market that is why its starting to get outdated.

this can sound a good way to pay instead of paypal, but on the other side of the coin, when you do a BTC transaction it's irreversible while with payPal you have a safety net and adding an escrow in the middle can help the process (but it will raise the price of the transaction); all in all would be a nice payment method but still, is not for "ignorant" people

How about the pain of people who uses BTC and easiness on using paypal? I think no.  Either way this two can coexist and paypal can even adopt bitcoin api payment so that they can take advantage of blockchain technology that Bitcoin offers.  Aside from that, this is another set of client that paypal can cater so I wonder if bitcoin will really overcome paypal  Grin Grin.
